We then went to Cosmos Communications in Long Island City which turned out to be the parent company of Influence. There I dealt with Richard Quarto who was outstanding. He not only ran test prints for us while we were at their print shop, but did not give us any of the BS we got from Influence. Influence had refused to print out book the size we wanted. We wanted an 8.5x8.5 Influence said we could only have 8 x 8. At Cosmos they said they could do whatever size we wanted. After two sets of proofs with Cosmos and the printing/messenger/shipping our total was 200 $ less than Influence. My suggestion. Go with the real deal. Cut out the middlemen. read more

I would give this place negative five stars if that was possible. Worst print shop I have ever been to. They are dishonest, and very difficult to deal with. If they can try to fool you they will. First of all, they are overpriced. Secondly, you better make sure that they print your job on the right paper. You could specify the paper, but they will try to fool you and print it on cheaper, lighter paper. They are real crooks. I wasted two hours of my day fighting with them about the print job. I even requested to have a micrometer take a measurement of the paper. One of the sales guys agreed with me that it was printed on lighter paper, the other one said it was on the paper that I requested. Even with the reading from the micrometer showing that it was printed on the lighter paper, they continued to deny the fact! Worst experience. If you want to have a stressful day, and a very completely messed up project you can see these guys. Stay clear of this print shop because they are awful! read more

I had a fabulous experience with Influence Graphics. I first considered them for the job because of their location--half a block from my office--but after speaking with Gregg, I was convinced this was the right place for my order. I was printing a batch of fantasy world map posters, and he helped me figure out the right process and pick the right paper--a gorgeous, heavy, watercolor-feel stock. I get almost as many compliments on the paper quality as the art. :D When I picked up my order, I found that Gregg had printed 280 maps instead of 200. That's one hell of a Baker's Dozen! The price was very reasonable by NYC standards and the turn-around time was commendably quick! Highly recommended. read more

I had to get some business cards printed, FAST, for an art show. I wanted to make sure the colors came out correctly on their press, and they had online chat support from their office that covered all the bases for me. The cards got turned around in less than 24 hours, and the quality is significantly better than I was expecting. I'm never using one of the online printers again - these guys were great! The only downside I could report is that their site is not too friendly for the casual consumer. You don't pay and upload your file in one step - you negotiate the price, pay via fax, then upload and wait for confirmation. That's a process I'm used to from handling industrial printing from work, but it seemed a little cumbersome for a small run of business cards. They also don't have a full list of paper colors/options on their site, which would have bothered me if I wasn't printing on bright white. read more

IG was recommended to me via a Chicago based company, I'm in the middle of a small print run of posters for a book launch event. Thomas has been very helpful -- FAST response to all emails. Not to mention they're the best price around, I compared with all the best here on Yelp. As someone new to the publishing industry and working remotely, other companies did a little more hand-holding but I found their over-explanation of processes an unnecessary waste of time. We just need these printed reasonably cheap and fast and well, and IG is doing that. I'll update my review once the posters have been seen in person. I think if you ask all your questions up front they're great at straight-forward answers and quotes, and understood what I needed right away. I see that some people on here have given (3) stars to this place. Why? Well, let me tell you that Influence Graphics and the employees there deserve every bit of the (5) stars I am going to give them. Here is why: I searched high/wide for a printer that would give me quality prints for my holiday cards and get them to me before next year. Well after a long search I found Influence Graphics on Google. Thank goodness. The site didn't have a ton of info on pricing, etc. but I opted to do a live chat and got in touch with David Caromina. He helped me walk through my order and assured me that everything would be alright. A couple of days later, a different person (Gregg Labriola) followed up and let me know the order was there. What great communication. After excellent customer service by Gregg, I got my cards yesterday and my wife and I couldn't be happier. I've never been to a print shop where I had such an easy and great experience! The mission was to create a several dozen sets of playing cards. Influence and Ron and everyone else who helped were accommodating and had great tips on how my project would come out best. They did double-sided printing on heavy stock with UV coat and cut to the specified and exact playing card size. They came out great and the pricing was very competitive. The next time I'm on a business trip in New York and need last minute work done I'll be sure to come here. On that thought, I'm actually considering paying shipping all the way to LA just so that I can continue to work with these guys! read more
