I am extremely glad I did today and can't wait to come back again. I understand it is an oyster house, but it is in Carrollton which is not near a large body of water. That being said, I was extraordinarily surprised at how fresh and delicious the raw oysters were and I feel the price is quite fair. Today I enjoyed the Tulane Avenue Shrimp as my entrée from the appetizers menu. The shrimp were tender and I loved all of the flavor. The little crusty pieces of bread that came with it were perfect for soaking up the sauce. It was a very large appetizer. I also had a cup of the gumbo that came with some garlic bread. The gumbo for me was just OK. I enjoyed it and liked the flavor, but it felt more like a savory stew to me than a gumbo. The service was good and friendly. I completely understand the aesthetic inside; however, the wooden benches are not very comfortable. That's just a minor preference for me. Overall this place is a hidden gem.

To say they turned our night around is an understatement. All three employees were super friendly and ready to help us out. All of the food (shrimp, flounder, catfish, hush puppies, Cajun fries and okra) was fresh, hot and delicious, but the catfish nuggets were the standout. Great breading, nicely seasoned and just melted in your mouth. The worst part of the experience was that I have no idea when I'll be in Atlanta again to experience their great food. I walked into the store I wasn't greeted, but I walked into the counter. I looked at the pastries and still no one said anything to me. I looked up to see the two people behind the counter scrolling on their phones, and I could see a shot into. I guess their kitchen area behind the counter where that person was also scrolling on their phone. In my mind that is terrible customer service. The fact that they didn't greet me or asked me what I wanted as I stood there was so rude. But they didn't even realize I was there probably because everybody was scrolling on their phone. Very disappointed. And it wasn't like there was a lot of people inside. There was a small group of three people that look like they may have been waiting on food.
