Reduced hours, reduced number of folding tables, increased prices. The 29¢ bullshit is the most egregious. Just a way to make sure you will always have money on the new cards. Here's the new pricing: Washers: X Large - $6.29 Large - $5.29 Regular - $3.29 Dryers: 30¢/6 mins 5¢ more on the dryers with one minute less drying time. I hope they know I can go back to Xtra Kleen a few blocks north, right? To make things worse, last wash is 1 hour earlier Mon-Fri (8pm) and 3 HOURS EARLIER on weekends (6pm) their busiest days. It's like they don't want to stay in business. Their hours were all over the place during the COVID restrictions, there's no excuse for not getting back to their previous hours unless it's because they don't want to pay their staff. This place is super dirty! All of the machines are backed up with soap and animal hair. I don't know how often they clean the machines but it is NOT often enough. I went back after one time to give them the benefit of the doubt, but the machines were so dirty they left oily little STAINS on my clothes. I would only go here in a desperate situation. For paying full NYC prices, it's better to walk a few extra blocks and find somewhere cleaner. read more

Hear me out new yorkers i understand that being a karen is now a popular but despicable thing... some of you karens in this reviews just straight up lying. This will be the real honest review... i have been using this location for years now and their service, hospitality and fast service will absolutely amaze you. Small laundromat with 3 sizes wash machine and 3 size dryer machine, folding table, ac and tv available. They are the type of laundromat that only works with their own service card that you will need to recharge in order to use the machine is very reasonable however i wish the machine system weren't as complicated I stayed messing my money up and the associate on the floor had to refund me almost 20 back to my card ... she was very friendly and this only happened to me my very first time here years later the system is the same but i kind of got the hang of it i just feel sorry for everyone else lol. A great self serve laundromat. There's a machine inside to turn your bills into coins for the machines, and they sell detergent and dryer sheets if you didn't bring any. Theres a folding table where you can fold your clothes, and the prices and very reasonable. I feel comfortable leaving my clothes here and using a timer on my phone to run errands while they wash, there's always someone on the floor, and that's a great peace of mind that I have only found here. They also have a pick up/delivery service that is wonderful. The man who comes to pick our laundry up is incredibly kind, and always smiling. He walks up our 4th floor walk up, and takes all our laundry with him, and always says no when we offer to help him carry it down. They have very reasonable prices for their laundry service, and normally have it returned within a day, except on weekends, when you'll need to wait until Monday. They return your laundry folded and price it on the weight after it's folded. I've had my duvet washed here many times, and it costs a bit more (detailed in their prices), but is always returned good as new. They definitely are very experienced with all types of fabrics, and everything is returned to us in amazing shape. As long as we live in the UWS, and do not have in unit laundry, this is where we will always go. read more

This isn't my normal laundromat and I can say I'm Not going to return anytime soon . I washed my White sheets and blankets in the washer and dried them as well. Once I pulled them out of the dryer I noticed that my white sheets had black markings all over. I informed the laundry attended and then she act like she didn't understand me. And then pointed to sign and told me to call the number. They answered which I was grateful for and then explained to me that they could let me wash my clothes again. I didn't want to be there for another hour after spending two hours there already. I left and decided that I just go to my regular laundry mat on west 94th between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue, and have the sheets washed there. read more

On Sunday there was a gas pipe explosion on my street and my building still doesn't have gas. I didn't realize that my building's laundry dryers were gas-powered so I had to get my clothes dried and New York Wash was open. I walked in and read the signs that said I had to also buy a washer if I wanted to dry my clothes. I explained to the manager what had happened and asked if I could buy a cycle in the washer so that I could use the dryer. This is where it gets really aggravating. The manager said that the last load was at 9pm and they close at 11pm. I explained to her that I didn't need the washer but was willing to buy a cycle so that I could use the dryer. A dryer cycle takes ~1 hour and it was 9:15pm. She refused to budge and insisted that she didn't want the problem. What problem? I was trying to play by her rules so I COULD USE THE DRYER. I WAS OFFERING TO GIVE THEM EXTRA MONEY I will not use this laundromat because of this woman. And specifically because she was so awful to a potential customer. read more

She said she needed to leave...I WALKED 10 blocks in 10F degree weather. Not to mention I was there for 5 minutes...loaded 3 machines and then she walked up and said I couldn't use them. I was the only one there. I would have been finished by 9:45pm----over an hour BEFORE they close at 11. WARNING---DO NOT GO HERE. Ok, somebody has to say something positive about this place.... I used to go to the 965 Laundromat on Broadway b/w 106th and 107th Street because of their good reviews (and the bad reviews of this one). And this one is literally 3 blocks away from the hotel I'm staying at (who stated on their website that they specialize in long term guests - yeah right! But that's another story) and I got tired of walking over 10 blocks to the next neighborhood just because of reviews. Turns out everything that's being said in the reviews here is just WRONG! The staff are super nice, the machines work fine (if you don't color separate your laundry and it colors off it's NOT their fault and it's not the machine and you're just stupid - the machine doesn't know what color clothes it's washing!) and the store hours are MORE than customer friendly. It's true that they reserve machines and driers for staff but that's just understandable. I said this before (in a different review for a different laundromat) and I'll say it again: if you don't like the way they touch or fold or whatever your clothes, go do it yourself or get a fucking washing machine you lazy dumbasses!!!! read more

NY Wash is only good for clothes you don't care about. I sent out my comforter and and some clothes for them to wash. Twice they brought back my comforter stained. The second time it looked like the delivery/pickup guy dropped the comforter on the sidewalk. The entire edge was blackened and stained. The comforter cost a lot of money. When I called, to ask about the stain, the woman who answered the phone knew exactly which comforter I was talking about. She proceeded to tell me, the comforter came from my house in that condition. Unless I poured a bunch of mud in my bed, I guarantee you I didn't...there is no way that happened in my house. But wait, there is more...she hangs up. So I pack up the comforter, go several blocks to the laundry. She responds with the same story. The comforter came to her stained. I explained to her that there was no way,I spilled mud, possibly salt and car grease on my WHITE expensive comforter. I told her it looks like the delivery guy let the edge of the comforter slip out of the laundry bag and drag on the sidewalk as he carried it. I asked her to reimburse me for the fee to wash the comforter. They charge a separate fee ($30). I didn't ask for the entire laundry cost refunded. Just the cost of the comforter. She told me she couldn't do that. She had to call the owner. Guess where the owner lives? New Jersey, (deep into New Jersey) two hours away. He says he cannot reimburse me the $30 without first seeing the comforter. He supposedly is driving in on Monday...and then will MAYBE reimburse me the $30 if he feels the stain is their fault. After I bring the (king size) comforter back to laundry for his inspection. Stay away. Just stay away. Aside from the usual damage to underwear and delicates (which I brush off as part of having your laundry done in NYC), they don't use care with your linens. They don't take responsibility for their mistakes, and worse, they have absentee ownership. No accountability and the customer service is terrible. Mind you...I send out laundry every week. I spend about $150-$175 a week plus tip the delivery guys 10%. Really disappointed. I am now going to use the other cleaner that is closer to me. This laundry is a disaster. read more

The place is clean and not overpriced. It has a tv (news channel most of the time). I come here once a week and yes, it is small and sometimes it gets crowded, but isn't it NYC a crowded place, anyway? This place has the worst attendants working here. The customer service is deplorable. I used to patronize this establishment before and the past attendants were nice and hospitable. Not this new staff. I used washers numbers 4 and 5 . When number 5 finished there not any baskets to retrieve my clothes, so I used my personal bag. I went to the coin machine to get coins to dry my clothes, while loading the dryer the attendant says to me that I cannot use the dryer if I didn't wash my clothes there . Excuse me I just unloaded one machine from the washer and had clothes in another washer. I also had to wait because it was crowded. She repeated it in a nasty manner and the other patrons looked in awe. Unprofessional and deplorable. I hope the new laundromat in this are opens soon. I logged back into Yelp for the first time in years because of this. I've been coming here the last three years and it's not been great, not been terrible, it is what it is, a crowded laundromat. I think they give too much space to machines for service laundry, but whatever. But I just hauled 50 pounds of laundry by hand six blocks in 15 degree weather, only to be told that the last wash was done for the night. At 8:15PM. Problem is, it says clearly on the door, "Last Wash at 9PM." That's the policy, that's what they adhere to, that's what I've seen them adhere to with others, and I've shown up with loads to do much closer to 9PM, too. When I brought this up to the woman behind the counter in the back, she says, "Not tonight. I've already cleaned and washed the floor." Respectfully (and I'll be honest, my response was not particularly non-profane), I don't care that you've already cleaned and washed the floor. It doesn't matter. The signs on your door say otherwise, and everybody else has schedules they have to keep. Your last wash is at 9PM, more than half an hour from the time I was told I couldn't begin my wash That's why I'm showing up after 8PM on a freezing Sunday night with a half-ton of laundry to do; because I couldn't do it earlier, I had obligations and commitments to keep. And now I have to get up super early tomorrow morning to do it before work, hauling 50 pounds down the avenue so my wife and I have clean towels and underthings. But I won't be doing my laundry here, not ever again. And I suggest you don't come here ever, either. Even if you drop off your laundry (and I wish we could afford that, but...), it casts serious aspersions on the level of care and quality your clothes are getting. Everyone who works here is amazing. When I needed to throw a dog bed in the dryer and make it to class without the time to go back and get it for hours---the staff totally had my back. They even threw in a couple extra quarters so the bed would be extra dry. If I had to move, it would be one of the first things I'd miss about living on my block. read more

Washers and Dryers are fine. Price is good. A certain female employee is the WORST. She is short with dark hair. The place closes at 11pm. It was around 10:15pm (while all my clothes were folded but not put in the bags yet) that she decided to empty out the lint traps - just a few feet away from my newly cleaned clothes. Dust flew everywhere - including on my husband's clothes. If you have allergies or sinus problems, forget it! She was not apologetic. She told me the boss does not pay her to stay longer. But now I see that the place closes at 11pm and she could have waited til I left! This is not the first time this has happened. Other times, when I tried to give her coins - she told me that she could only take $1 worth and I had to find other stores to convert my coins into quarters. IS THIS NOT AMERICA where US Coins should be accepted? How dare she! But it gets worse - my husband wanted to get change for a $20 - to get quarters to use there - and she told him NO and he had to go out to other stores at night looking for quarters! The only reason I went there was because it was open late but once again - I need to boycott that place. I hope the owner finds employees who actually care. read more

Have spoken to multiple customers who pass closer laundromats to come here because it's the best in the neighborhood. Makes being a New Yorker nicer. I would give them negative stars if I could. My washer in my building double charged my card leaving me without enough money to dry my clothes. So I carried my wet clothes 6 blocks to dry them here and the woman wouldn't let me use a dryer because I didn't wash my clothes there. She turned away business because she wants you to spend more or nothing. Very VERY rude about it too. I offered to pay her double and she still said no. They're pretty strict on the whole last wash at 9 thing. I went in around 9:15 and had the washer 75% loaded when I was told it was too late. I ended up having to go on vacation with almost no clean clothes as there aren't any other laundries near here. One of the people who works here (she is almost always there) is rather rude, and makes the experience of using this establishment very unpleasant. One time I went there, the woman made obnoxious comments about me in Spanish because she thought I couldn't understand what she was saying (I speak decent Spanish, but haven't let on yet so that I can hear what she's saying). She was annoyed that I was opening a dryer door to add some clothing in that had fallen on the floor, and responded to the situation by yelling at me and making fun of me to other patrons there who spoke Spanish. She looks like she's in her 30s or 40s, so I'm surprised that she acts like the children that run around shrieking in there while their parents do their laundry. She has also grabbed carts from me, when I was using them, and without asking, and looked confused when I asked her why she took my cart. Anyways, the machines are relatively nice, but I've seen peoples' clothing get stuck in the washers several times (the door stays locked even after the cycle, and the woman behind the counter, the same individual as mentioned above, has absolutely no idea what to do). Can't wait to get my own washer and dryer so I never have to set foot in this place ever again. Late shift worker was more unhappy than me after I realized I had a load of laundry to do at 815pm. Got my wash in, but it was busy as heck, and the only dryers available were those used for wash and fold. Asked the lady if I could use it to a "GO AHEAD!" Seemed like she had lived better days... I'd go back, if I needed to in a pinch, but maybe when other less angry employees are working. Also, there are new machines, but they really don't mean much if they do the same job as that of a machine from some of the older machines a few streets south. Best wash & fold service in the vicinity. Prices beat nearby competitors. They'll work to accommodate you -- I've dropped my stuff at 4 and gotten it back by 7. This place is just awful - mediocre cleaning and TERRIBLE service. The first time I used them, I dropped off my laundry at 12 PM on a Sunday. They said it would be ready by 10PM. I show up at 10 PM and it's still not ready. I spent 10 more minutes trying to get an answer as to whether or not my laundry will actually be ready as they promised. I finally received my laundry at 11:30 PM - STILL WET! The second time around - it only got worse. There are so many other places to get your laundry done so just go somewhere else! read more

I tried to explain that I only had one load, will not use the dryer, and that it will take me only 20 minutes but I was told they have to close the shop. I am new to the area and I came here one night to dry my clothes with my son. The lady informed me that I would not be able to do so because they said the dryers are only for customers that are washing as well. How unfair is that, the people that only need to wash clothes can come but the people that only need to dry, can't? RIDICULOUS!!! I'm still a paying customer. I'm only giving two stars because the lady let me this one time but moving forward I have to find another location and this was convenient for me because its literally up the street from my house. I've been going to NY Wash since last year when we moved to the UWS, using the self serve machines to do my laundry about a couple of times a week. 2 weeks ago, after doing a load, there were grease marks all over. I asked the woman behind the counter if she could re-wash and dry them for me, as I had plans that evening and already spent 2 hours doing laundry. She said she didn't know and that I needed to speak to the owner, Boris. I called him and explained the situation and he told me that she would wash and dry my sheets (laundry service). She told me to write my name, phone number, how many quarters she would need to put into the washer and dryer ($4), and to explain the situation. When I came back this Monday for my sheets, I was told they weren't there but they would try to find out. I went back two days later and was told that the woman I had left the sheets with had washed them, but not dried them--after several days they were smelly and moldy and they threw them out. After speaking with the owner, I was told I would be reimbursed (they ruined 5 sets of sheets!) and to meet with him on Friday. I go in Friday and saw the lady behind the counter, she was rude and wouldn't look at me in the eye. She spoke to another man in Spanish while pointing at me and laughing. I asked her if Boris was around and she said he was outside. I talked to Boris and he agreed to give me a check for $250 and a laundry service credit of $50. When I went to pick up the check today, I asked them if Boris had dropped off the check and they told me no. One of the men, whom I was later told was the supervisor, asked me to come back again next week, and that Boris didn't leave me the check because "he wanted to know more about the situation". He basically accused me of leaving my clothes there unattended. I had to explain the situation all over again even though the owner and I had already came to an agreement. I called Boris and he told me he had dropped off my check and it's in an envelope with my name on it. Basically, they decided to withhold the check from me and lied, saying Boris hadn't dropped it off. This "supervisor" clearly left with Boris's check. After the woman spoke to Boris she called the "supervisor" and he came back and produced the check. I'm extremely disappointed with their customer service (lying, throwing out my clothes) and poor management. I can't even use my $50 service credit because I don't trust them to do my laundry. Worst laundry place on the upper West side. I've used them for large loads on several occasions because of the good price but everytime I've used them I quickly regretted it. On two occasions I sent out three bags and only got back two. Both times I had to unpack, realize I'm missing clothes and then go back to get them. This last time they never showed up for the scheduled delivery that I called to confirm and then never told me. I waited around for them for over an hour and ended up having to get it myself later anyhow. They charged me full price despite messing up every time and really seem not to care. Will never be going back. It's worth a little extra money for a laundry service that's reliable and honest. read more
