It was my first time coming to this salon. I called ahead of time for a walk-in the day of. Demi was able to squeeze me into a 45 minute appointment. I asked for acrylic dip removal and a gel manicure + regular varnish pedicure. She was SO gentle with the pedicure! I was extremely relieved and impressed when I saw how meticulous she was when cleaning and trimming my toe nails. I don't have crazy hang nails but I've been experiencing discomfort while walking from previous pedicures. The other times, the nail tech would be aggressive when digging into the nail beds and pumicing my feet. Demi was very gentle while pumicing and gave me very clean french tip. It's been a few weeks now and I definitely feel better walking! My gel manicure was very simple due to the time constraint. Demi did her best to remove as much as the acrylic dip powder while reshaping my natural nail. The full set came out pretty but I did noticed a few of my nails veer to the left or right instead of them being straight. It's a small oversight but it is something I can't unsee. I came for permanent hair straightening. On the second day, my hair was so dry (I was told not to wash my hair for 3 days) and I started losing hair. After 2 months, my hair went back to being wavy again. I was told that permanent Japanese straightening would last at least 6 months. Not only that, I continued losing hair, and my hair became very dry, thinning, and damaged. This place used VERY CHEAP PRODUCTS. I know that because I did Japanese straightening at another place before, and the result was amazing. My hair was so smooth, with no falling hair, and it lasted for 6-7 months until my new hair grew in. I tried this place because of my friend's recommendation, but I would never come back here. It has cost me a lot of money to treat my current hair condition!!! read more

Called to book on a weekday, quick and easy. Came in and was seated right away. Lots of live plants and the salon was clean inside small a plaza. Showed a picture of how I wanted to dye my hair a lighter color after 6 months of balayage hair. Wanted to get rid of the blond colors and go more light brown and fill my outgrown roots/top hair. Took about 4 hours. My hair was curled and styled once done. The next day, I realized that he missed a large section of my hair, since he curled it, it was hard to see but can definitely see when my hair isn't curled. I wouldn't go back because of that but if I noticed before I left, I would have told him to finish that area. read more

If you have any waves or curls, do not seek an appointment here. Ryan does not know how to treat curly or wavy hair. He uses high heat with no heat protection (even after I asked him to use some). Plus, he uses thinning shears incorrectly. These are the red flags. Obvious "no-nos'" in the wavy and curly hair community. Thinning shears can be detrimental to curly and wavy hair patterns. They should be used when the hair is still wet or styled naturally. It was too late for me to tell him. My hair feels 30%-50% thinner, and I loved the thickness of my hair before my appointment :(. read more

Being generous at a 3 . So this is a mixed review mostly customer care and part pedicure performance. This was my second pedicure here, the 1st was over a year ago which I did not review because I did not want to give a low review for a small business the 1st time . However, I do believe in second chances and I was really in need of a pedicure, so I decided to give them a second chance . Hoping the Deluxe model and more expensive version would be better and more luxurious. Not! I was seated promptly for my 12:15 pm appt. I came 5 minutes early. The water was already in the basin , a good start i thought. However, The Tech ( name unknown) told me where to sit and did not introduce herself, I had to ask her name 1/2 way through treatment , unfortunately she seemed as unfriendly as she was the first time! There was Zero friendly chatter . Sorry , I digress Okay, now for the pedicure . I Put my feet in hot water bath and she promptly left me sitting and soaking while I waited and waited and watched the clock for 15 minutes beyond my appointment time, With no word or service. My tech was in the back and then I watched her talking on the phone while I waited! There had been no offering to turn on the auto shiatsu massage which was a feature on my luxury chair ,which would have been a lovely distraction, but never offered! While i sat and still waited , a new client sat next to me for a pedicure . She was started immediately.! And her chair massage was on turned on. as i still waited, I watched my neighbors pedicure in progress. Of course She was started first . Then it was finally my turn! My feet were all pruny at this point. She started and never Asked me about how short or what shape I wanted. She seemed meticulous and focused....But caused me pain during few of trims of my nails because she was trying to go too short. So the jury is out on how my toes will feel tomorrow! And I think they ARE too short! NEXT... I figured because I was getting the deluxe pedicure I thought it would take longer and be more luxurious with the addition of additional exfoliation treatments on my legs and wax treatment on my feet . And hopefully a really good longer leg / foot massage. All the time I was noting the other person getting a regular pedicure and what seemed to be going normally. I found myself wishing she was doing my pedicure ! Needless to say , believe it or not the other person and I finished at the same time ! So if I did not have to wait 10-15 minutes to get started . I would have been finished faster and furiously first and out the door by at least 10 minutes . Even with my deluxe more expensive treatment. fast is not better in this world and it was not at all relaxing or enjoyable! Functional at best! Not even the leg and foot massage which i have loved during all other pedicures wherever i have gone! So my pedicure did not feel so deluxe ! I will Not go for a 3rd try. read more

She showed great care when doing my nails. She didn't try to talk me into getting acrylics and even complimented my natural nails. I was so happy with her service I asked if I could get my eyebrow waxed. Let me tell you... I love them! She didn't even have to ask what I wanted she looked at my eyebrows and cleaned them up she plucked very little and she made sure I loved them. She also didn't try to upsale me into doing other stuff as well. She was there to help me get what I needed and did it with ease and grace. I got them done Tuesday, so far no chipping and everything is looking super cute. You will love this place- I hope- as much as I did. Demi is super talented, there was a shop here previously who didn't do acrylics but Demi does. She provides all kinds of acrylic styles, when I was looking at her swatches I could tell she is very talented with her design. It's a pretty quite area so it was very relaxing. Demi also offered me tea while I waited and what I really appreciated was her sense of urgency: she immediately got me in a chair with warm water so I could enjoy the massage and my feet soaking while I waited. This made a huge impact on how my visit here was and is also the reason why I will keep coming back. I've been to nail shops where I had to wait on a hard uncomfortable chair although there were available massage chairs, not a very good experience and also quite frustrating. Anyways if you value quality and great service this is the best place to go, also the prices are fantastic! Regular pedi and gel mani was 55 eyebrow waxed was 10. Update 2/5/20: Got my first hair cut with Ryan today (I was a walk in). I am very happy with the cut. Ryan was able to take instruction well and what I wasn't sure about he was able to take things one snip at a time and make sure he was doing what I envisioned. I got the same haircut I've gotten before for a better price. Again everyone was very nice and friendly and the salon was clean and organized. Got a manicure/ pedicure at the new beautiful location in Albany on San Pablo. The service was great everyone was very nice and hospitable. Everywas very nice organized and clean, the actual service was good. Remember to ask for a buff if your used to getting that bc it's not included in the service. Ryan was very friendly and inviting. I didn't get a haircut from him this time but was able to see him cut a mans hair while I was there, it looked like a modern up to date hair cut that I'm used to getting, I may get a cut there one day. I would def recommend trying them out. read more
