I just had Sam from Newhaus Roofing inspect my roof because of a leak, and I have no problem with him, personally. He was polite and apparently knowledgeable. However, his quote was ridiculously high. He proposed replacing 210 square feet of underlayment at a price of over $5,000! That is over $20 per square foot. I can see his proposing the area that he wants to replace so that we cover any possible roof leaks but the unit cost is ludicrous. He also said that he wouldn't warranty less underlayment replacement, surely as a means to increase the size of the job. He mentioned earlier in his inspection that they have a minimum charge but didn't specify what it was nor did I ask since I never expected to get such a high quote. I believe based on his quote that their minimum job is $5,000 and he backed into that figure. I know what to expect for this job based on past experiences so I know this quote is ridiculous. I'm upset that they wasted my time. If they had disclosed upfront that their minimum job was $5.000, I could have told them that they didn't need to come by and quote the job, but they didn't. I suggest that they tell potential customers these important details up front. Other than that, I think Sam did a thorough inspection. He checked the attic and the roof but the quote was simply unacceptable, particularly since the roof is probably due for replacement in 5-10 years. read more

Believe the 1 star reviews. I had the WORST not only roofing experience, but overall home construction experience with Newhaus. They are terrible slimy people that do not take safety precautions (2x 60+lb objects fell off roof directly above house entry) or accountability for their countless lapses in judgment and human decency. They were continually late, sometimes were no shows, and not only uncommunicative but also argumentative - frequently not responding or bold face lying, which they were sure to do only through phone calls, never texts - so if you use them, please record your calls! They left trash and nails all over the driveway and did not clean up debris around the house after the project was finished. I had to ask them to come back after getting complaints from the tenants. I was given so much attitude and the PM verbally abused me multiple times. They lied regarding the loan contracting terms, which had 9.99% interest immediately. Newhaus responded to my need for a new roof after the first big rain storm came through. I scheduled an appointment to assess the work needed. Gary and Sean were very helpful and explained the work/costs up front. Other options were also given. They even patched my roof with henry just in case of any more rain before the full roof demolition and install was completed. Great quality roof and insulation. My house is pretty old and needed the insulation. The workers cleaned up after each day of work. The inspector came out and approved the roof and my roof matches my freshly painted house. Newhaus Roofing & Construction License number 1036483 I received a bid for roofing in the amount of $15,250. I received a follow up email showing the increased price of $1850, for adding items originally agreed upon at no additional charge. I was told the roof would come with a 50-year warranty. I requested a written warranty multiple times without response. In reviewing the Owens Corning website, Platinum contractors warranty is for 50 years. Newhaus IS NOT A PLATINUM CONTRACTOR only a preferred contractor. Thus, only providing a 25-year limited year warranty. The whole thing began to feel like a scam and I decided not to do business with this company. I do not recommend them. read more

After the heavy rains we expierienced during the recent rainy season my moms house was left with multiple leaks in the living room and bathroom. I found New Haus online and liked that they offered a free inspection. Boris showed up within a few hours and did a full inspection of the roof and attic. He showed us where the probllem was and offered multiple solutions. We decided to get rid of our tiles and went with a new cool shingle roof. It hasnt rained since but our house is much cooler this summer than it was last. And with the Warranty for 30 years our family is no longer worried about the leaks. The area that was repaired was not repaired correctly and we have been trying to get it fixed ever since the rain stopped. Unfortunately Greg has not been very responsive and is only sending out others to check on the issue and relying on photos and "their" opinion. He has not once come to check on this himself. As you can see from my previous review, Greg WAS very responsive before when things were going well. Greg is stating that it's a "new" leak to try and void the warranty and have us pay more money but there is no way a "new" leak would be in the exact place that was just repaired a few months ago. I will say that George and his team did an excellent job tarping my roof during the crazy rain storm that hit Los Angeles in Jan 2023 - when the leak initially continued, they came back out the next day to extend the tarp, preventing any further leaking. This is where the positive ends. After discovering that the original roofing company had a warranty, we decided to use them for our roofing repairs free of charge, only to be hit with a $2000 invoice for the tarping work. This was after being told that the cost of tarping would be around $500. Newhaus seems to be another shady company roping clients into unclear contracts during times of desperation, pushing clients to agree to larger projects, or coming back with insane charges. We paid over $40,000.00 to Neuhaus for a new roof in 2023; 10 months later it started to leak, ruining new ceiling and insulation and causing high mold levels in my kitchen. Their response was to try and blame skylight which was not the source of the leak; and blame us for their improper installation of HVAC during the re-roofing. Their "warranty" work consisted of applying ugly black patches; and telling us we would have to pay $1300.00 to move HVAC so they could patch under it. They refused/delayed paying for water remediation in the house or repairs to the ceiling long enough to create mold.They refused to furnish the thirty (30) year warranty which was part of the contract or their General Liability policy.They will not negotiate in good faith and want a "gag"order. Fixed broken tiles on my roof after tree trimmers broke a bunch of roof tiles while trimming the tree next door to me. We're factors less expensive than some other estimates I got, some even telling me to retile the entire roof. I was looking at buying a house and Home Advisor said they had a good rating along with a free estimate. House needed a new roof and I reached out for a quote and they would not give a free estimate. I hung up and left a bad review then someone else called and they gave me an estimate for taking down the review. The estimate was extremely detailed but didn't include a price. 30min later I receive a price with 0 detail to it. Just Price = 20k. After looking into them there are several people who seemed to be getting scammed. To me it looks like they tried to scam me by not providing a free estimate. Didn't even have their system setup to provide a customer estimate and sent me their internal very detailed estimate including material usage and several different amounts of wasted material by percentage with one column selected but importantly clipped off the cost to them. I had been looking for a framing contractor to help out with an urgent matter; a sagging garage roof. After weeks of looking, these guys were the most professional and responsive that attended to my request. Within minutes I spoke to a rep that had someone in the area to come by and provide an estimate. Sean came on site and did a fantastic job that will prevent the roof from sagging. The job was done quickly, his crew was friendly and respectful of environment and did an excellent job fixing the existing roof to prevent it from any further sagging. I really appreciated the transparency and explaination of the work to be done that Sean provided throughout the process. I strongly suggest hiring these guys if you have any frame/roof issues. Our house is 60 years old, and after multiple leaks in the past year we decided it was time to replace. We're renting it out, and the Newhaus team was respectful of the tenants and worked as quickly as possible to get things done. They worked with us when they found out that things were in worse shape than we thought (termite damage in the fascia, roof under the plywood was so old it wasn't up to code), and made adjustments so we weren't stuck with a half-finished job for weeks. The whole presentation was informative and just makes sense. They are responsive and reliable. Roofing job is no joke and it's our first time doing a roof project. It took a bit longer than expected due to city inspection. It took nearly 2 1/2 weeks just to wait for the inspection before the start of the project. ON 01/16/2021 I had newhaus contractors come give me an esimate on a roof replacement Nick G was the project manager. he gave me a quote we sighed the contract and on 01/19/2021 his roofers came down and remove my shingles from the roof. he called me om 01/20/2021 and told me there was a problem with my roof he would be down later that day to talk to me. He did come down later that day and brought a guy by the name I believe was dave his general mgr. dave climbed the roof and walked around a little and came back down and said the roof was in bad shape and they would have to put 4x8 plywood to fix it at a extra $10000.00 I said no I would let the inspector inspect it first (the roof I had was ok by the inspector) now here where the fun begins @whole week goes by and no roofers to replace the roof I begin to call Nick and ask when are they going work on my roof he tells waiting on the inspector this goes on for nearly 2 months before my roof is worked on I had go to La county public works to pull the permit (nick in my opinion as project mgr did not do his job and left my roof stripped of protection from the weather.
