I love Newks and I'm so happy it's made it's way to Athens! I attended Newk's pre-opening free entree event. Even during the "rough" opening, the staff was on top of it, the food was great, and the place is great! Good pizzas, sandwiches, salads, soups, and combos. Vegetarian friendly and kids meals available, truly an option for everyone. Order at the counter- super fast service! My favorite part is the giant cups filled with their yummy sweet tea. Oh, and the round table with all the free goodies!!! (TRY THE PICKLES! Thank me later). Can't wait to see how Newks does in Athens. They have been open for less than a week but they were packed on a rainy Sunday for lunch. The line to order was kind of disorganized with people standing around the door waiting to order. It would be nice if they did something to form a line rather than just standing around. I tried to order the taco salad but they said they are not yet serving the full menu. Ended up getting the Cobb salad. It was good and served in a cold bowl. There was a lot of chicken, egg, cheese, and tomato. My wife got the same thing but added avocado. They have a serving bar to add pickles, jalapeños, and breadsticks. Nice casual dining option for Athens. read more

Really disappointed. I have been a fan of nets since the one that opened near where we worked in Lawrenceville. Perhaps it is covid staff related. I got the half soup and sandwich. The tomato basil soup was salty and tepid. It has very little flavor. The half sandwich... Turkey and avocado was tasteless and could better be described as petite. The cashier was almost rude. Our card was declined. She turned and said "declined" ... Not try that again...I think we removed it too quick. She said follow the prompt... But I think initially she failed to initiate the prompt because there wasn't one. So unfriendly. My partner got a newks q pizza that was fabulous. The value for what I got, it was way overpriced. Save your Panera money for Newk's. The tomato soup was exceptional. I loved the chicken salad. It's hard to get a good balance of flavors when you add fruit and nuts, but they did it. The restaurant was modern and clean. Only complaints were menu placement. It causes chaos when multiple parties are trying to order. It should be behind and above the registers. Why $15 for a Caesar Salad with Chicken and a regular drink ?? Please explain why ? And then add a tip? Really ?? It was not even a large bowl at that . It was the size of a medium bowl . Looking for a keto friendly place to get a salad that was fast and filling. In a sea of fast food restaurants trying to find a salad is difficult and even if you do, it's always small. I pulled into the Kroger parking lot (one shopping center over) and surfed Yelp and ordered from Newk's curbside pickup. I drove my 1/10th of a mile over and within a couple minutes my food was delivered to my car! The salad was a perfect meal sized salad and was delicious. Ive been coming in for about 3 months now. I found this place looking for something new and the young lady I think her name was Andrea walked me through the Menu my very first visit and walked me through the experience . I was excited to see she is now a Manager!! My food was excellent and she was very knowledgeable when it came to the menu. Ive also noticed a difference in the atmosphere when she is there. I came 2/15 and I noticed she wasn't there and It was totally different. We ordered food for our family of six on Saturday evening. No one loved their sandwiches. The bread needs to be baked longer; it seemed doughy and underdone. Meat on sandwiches was generous though and tasty. The kids liked their pizzas. Mom liked her potato soup and simple salad. Macaroni and cheese was cheap tasting and not at all what I remember. No one would eat it. The amount of pasta salad they put in my cup was small and laughable. They forgot my dad's chips and forgot our six pieces of cake. When we finally got the cake, several slices were frozen on the inside. Not worth the price or calories. Our advice? Get the pizza and check your order for omissions. read more

Pretty good. We've been twice now. Both times were good, not great. I had the gumbo and a po boy the first time that was better than the Mediterranean Greek salad that I had the second time. The chicken in the salad was about as bland as any chicken could be. Service is good. Atmosphere is nice. We'll be back to try other things on the menu. read more
