I wanted a wrap after a very long day. McAlister's was close by and I was familiar with it, having eaten at a location close to where I live. It's the service that was excellent. The young man who took my order seemed genuinely pleased I was there. The restaurant wasn't crowded so while my food was being prepared, he took the time to walk around and check the other patrons and generally check on things. After a few moments, my take-out order was ready so I was own my way. My food was very good, as expected, but the thing that made my day was the attitude of the clerk. It was an adventure today. Staff had walked out. So it took ten minutes to place out order safer having to repeat it several times. Then we waited 35 minutes to get out food. They were running 45 minute waits before we left. We came at 3pm hoping to miss the crowds. There were no crowds... Just no employees! Many employees were apologetic. The food was delicious. We will return... But we will give it a month to get their staff issues resolved. Seemed those working were putting in looking hours, no free meal while working a shift. I think management needs to rethink how they treat their staff. Sodas are $3.29!!! You can get a six pack of soda for that! Tea is $2.79. We won't get drinks in the future. We usually come here on Saturdays at lunchtime, and there usually aren't many people here. My wife and I love it. The food is great and the staff is very friendly, especially with my little girl. I usually get the Garden Fresh Turkey sandwich, which is delicious. The inside is nice and clean, and we look forward to coming. Have been here a few times. It has been delicious every time! The tea is next level and this is the south and everyone is picky about the sweet tea including me and it's so good every time, I dream about the Tea seriously considering the tea pass. Have had the spud max, black angus roast beef spud and the chipotle chicken and bacon spud. I first ordered these not knowing anything about them and it's like a meal in itself ! So delicious if your a fan of a slam packed baked potato. They Do have plain ones as well. Have tried a few of the sandwiches my daughter loves the French dip and I honestly love a good sandwich and the king club and McAllister club Have not disappointed a have ordered online and In store. My daughters and I ate here on 4/29/22 at approximately 6:00 pm. We each had a baked potato. It was horrible. It definitely tasted as though it was left over from lunch and kept in the warmer. It was luke warm. It was not a fresh baked potato. It was disgusting. Maybe their other food items are better. I don't know but I'm not willing to try it. Needed a quick meal during soccer tournament and this was the wrong choice. It was evident this place is understaffed with tables covered with dirty plates and glasses. After waiting to place our order the waiting really started. It was over 30 minutes to receive our sandwiches and one order was wrong. I went to one end of the counter to get a refill of my drink waiting behind another customer. When her glasses were refilled the employee walked to the other end and got a drink for himself ignoring me. I gave it 3 stars because the food was good. The staff and atmosphere was weird. I have attempted to go here 4 times. I was successful on my second trip. The first time I drove there was on opening day in the late afternoon. There were 2 cars there. I felt something was wrong. As I entered the driveway there was a handwritten sign saying they were closed (on opening day) and would be open the next day. There was a big balloon on the front of the building saying "Grand Opening", There were 2 people sitting outside in the outdoor dining area. Looked to have been employees. Drove back the next day. They were open. Went inside, saw a lot of employees around not an over abundance of customers. Employees seemed to be talking to each other a lot, maybe getting use their new co-workers. I ordered a half sandwich and chili. The girl who took my order was nice and smiled. I told her I was happy they were here. I sat at a table with a long bench against the wall. Noticed 2 men on a computer sitting close to the counter. Must have been people who were connected to the restaurant. I received my food quickly by another smiling employee. Then they were back talking behind the counter. The sandwich was good with alot of meat. The chili was OK. I realize chili appeals differently to different people. Next time I will try another soup. As I began eating I could hear a small child yelling and running around the restaurant. Not really under any control of an adult. Then I saw a lady get the child and pull it over by the counter talking to employees. It seemed that person was an employee as she went behind the counter briefly. Shortly the child ran over towards the 2 men and climbed up on the bench seat. Jumping and playing loudly. One of the men said something to the child smiling. The child decided to run down the bench all the way down to me. Yelling along the way. The mother finally came to get the child. But later was still out of control in the restaurant. Not my idea of an enjoyable meal, but realized it was a new restaurant and they were trying to get it all going. I ate and left still hearing the child as I walked out the door, I decided to try the place another evening when I had been in the area. Went by at 7:50 pm and saw that all the chairs in the restaurant on the right side were turned up on the tables and they were sweeping. I came in and said are you closing. Not until 9. This is a pet peeve of mine. I don't like to have people cleaning around me as I am eating. I left, I tried again tonight around 6ish. I drove there and it was completely closed. I will try again.
