This was my second time at a Newk's Eatery but it won't be my last. The place is Good! I love that you walk in, peruse the menu, and place your order. It's quick and easy. Then you have a seat and they bring your fresh-made order right to your table. Both times at a Newk's my wife and I were impressed with the quality, flavor and appearance of our meals. The Newk's Q with the white BBQ sauce is the bomb. The tortilla soup is very tasty as well. Additionally, the staff is friendly and prompt. That is always a big plus! The food is good, the prices are fair, and the staff is friendly. We'll be back.

I was not expecting such a tasty sandwich from this establishment. The service was quick and the sandwich & soup hit the spot. Nothing fancy but its not your typical fast food sandwich shop. I had the half rueben and a cup of the Lobster Crab Bisque... it really was tasty and I will definitely stop buy here again the next time i am in Oxford.

Fantastic for quick service dining!!! Great variety and quality. They have a nice offering of options and for each option some cool and delicious recipes. I love this place it's miles and miles above big box restaurants of the same genre (Panera, jason's deli, etc) deciding what to get was such a chore but decided on the half sandwich and soup. So glad I did!! I had the Italian which was fantastic and the pepper jack and crawfish soup which was on level with fine bisque I've had in very high end restaurants. Will definitely be a return customer. Oh and the best part is the complimentary little package of breadsticks, condiment options, and the reusable drink cups to take home.

Veggie Pizza. Delicious AND better for you* *than regular pizza.

Saw some strange things while we waited (38 minutes) to be seated. This seems to be a pretty popular place here and I wouldnt be surprised if they just opened recently.

After 50 minutes, I inquired and miracles or miracles! A table was open! Yeah, ok. Nice table, nice server. We order juices--very nice--and my wife orders soup and sandwich and I order a veggie burger. About ten minutes later, they bring out a soup and sandwich and a turkey burger. I point out the error and they apologize to say that the replacement is coming urgently. Well, I sat there for ten minutes watching my wife eat and after mine came, she sat there watching me eat. Before anyone says it might have been a kitchen error, the server admitted to putting in the wrong dish. I go to pay, and the cashier (manager?) asks me how everything was, and I tell him. He essentially shrugs and says that Sundays are like that. No apology, no offer to comp a drink or even say that he hopes we still come back. He didn't seem at all bothered by our less than satisfactory experience. It's ok, though--Oxford has a ton of restaurants open on Sunday morning.

Such a cute little spot near the university and they have so many plant based and yummy healthy options as well as a full coffee bar. I loved the food, don't get me wrong but this definitely isn't a place I would go everyday for lunch unless I could afford it. And as a college student, I know I can't. As for the matcha matcha latte, it was a 3/10 for me. There were clumps of unmixed matcha powder at the bottom. My friend got the same latte and she had the same experience. So I would skip on this, not worth the 7 dollars in my opinion. Overall, I'm going back for the food when I can afford it!! It looks exactly like how it is pictured on Instagram and it's organic. Again, the food not the drink. The outside area was perfect for pictures and I truly felt like I was somewhere other than Mississippi. I loved it and plus the service was super fast. They brought the food out in a timely manner and I appreciated that.

It was later in the evening, and I wasn't sure how many places would still be open that late elsewhere in the state, so stopping in such an iconic college town felt like the right move. Unfortunately for me--but probably great for business--it happened to be a home game for Ole Miss Rebels baseball, so the entire area was packed. I tried a few places before finally managing to grab a single seat at the very end of the bar at Back 9. The atmosphere was immediately fun and energetic. Between the sports simulators and TVs broadcasting games throughout the space, it felt exactly like the kind of lively college-town sports bar you'd hope to stumble into on a busy game night. The staff was clearly stretched thin because of the crowd, so I don't hold the slower pacing against them. If anything, it reminded me how differently high-volume bars function from city to city. There are probably a few things college-town bars in general could learn from the efficiency of Nashville's Broadway spots, but that's more of an observation than a criticism of this restaurant specifically. The menu is exactly what you'd expect in the best way possible--handhelds, flatbreads, comfort food, and crowd-pleasing bar favorites. I ended up ordering the Chipping Cajun pasta, and honestly, it completely surprised me. The balance between the spice and cream sauce was excellent. The bell peppers, onion, and garlic added depth to the flavor while also giving the dish a nice variety of texture. The seafood was evenly cooked and genuinely delicious throughout. It actually reminded me of one of my favorite dishes back in Nashville at Darfons Restaurant & Lounge, which I definitely wasn't expecting from a busy college-town sports bar. Overall, Back 9 ended up being one of the highlights of my drive through Oxford. If you're passing through town, especially on a game weekend, it's absolutely worth stopping in and trying for yourself.
