Yummy crab soup! Got lunch take out today and love love love their ultimate crap soup. Has a little zing of spice in my opinion but very tasty. The guy at the to go counter was extremely friendly and offered a drink to my to go order. Love that they were fast! Not extremely happy with parking but hey it was the 12 o'clock lunch hour so it's to be expected. I also got the side Cesar and I absolutely love that the dressing came on the side. Came to have lunch at this place. It had just opened and the reviews were all positive so i thought i check it out. This fast casual restaurant is similar to some of the other chain sandwich fast-casual-sit-raunts offering decent ice tea large sized ice tea. Any way ordered, "Newks favorite" and she had the sandwich soup split. She had the sandwich with the creole mustard. That was quite spicy according to my girlfriend. If you're ordering salad make sure to ask for it on the side. I felt like i just took shots of salad dressing. It lingered with me for several hours like that awkward loquacious coworker. Once i got to the bottom of my salad i could actually taste the other components of the salad. The gorganzola was a pretty good combination with the dried cranberries. Other issue of the salad was with the artichokes. They didn't taste very fresh. So ask for the dressing on the side. The salad tasted kind of fresh though. The chicken in it was ok. Didn't taste like a blended chicken. I probably have to come again to get a decent idea if this place is good or not. Oh drinks here come in a large black plastic cup that you get to keep and reuse. Pretty decent. One of my friends billed the place as "They have EVERYTHING you can think of! It's like a crazy place where you can get all sorts of stuff" but wasn't specific. So I was expecting...well everything lol. Instead it's just a sandwich & pizza shop with some soups and mac n cheese. Can't blame Newks, so not part of the review, but still kind of a deflation (no longer taking her advice...lol) It still is pretty dang good. I got the spicy shrimp pizza, it was very unique and different. I've never had shrimp on a pizza...it was a winning combo. Bell peppers were good and had just the right amount of kick. My fiancee got a grilled chicken sandwich and Caesar salad, she remarked that the salad had too much dressing but it was otherwise good. Place is a little confusing...if you walk in the side door, you're presented with a very small takeout menu, the eat-in menu & cashier is on the other side of the store. I even almost went out the door that goes to the patio (with no way out) when trying to make my exit. Overall, a nice place to visit. read more

Newks has always been a favorite of mine. Realizing the covid has its problems, I was sick today from eating there. The minute I tasted the sandwich I love I knew the chicken wasn't right. It was stale, dry, and tasteless. I believe it's really better to go to a well used restaurant to avoid this spoilage issue. read more

Will never come back. Gave us the wrong soup and then when we started to eat our Mac n cheese was barely warm then slap cold in the middle of the dish. When spoken to the manager about it was not polite at all about it when offering us more and honestly she should of just refunded our $11 a plate back, if she was going to have an issue with serving us hot food on a cold and rainy day. read more

I've been twice now, both to just grab things to go, and I was really pleased with the counter service and the food. The first time I ordered the shrimp salad which was really freshed and good. This place is soooooooo good. I just left after eating there for the first time and I will definitely be coming back. I was shocked that I payed almost $14 for a half salad (with chicken) and a cup of soup, but when I got my food I found out why... the portions are BIG. My husband got a bowl of soup and it was literally a bowl of soup, craziness! Most of the workers are very nice. Didn't like the guy that checked us out though. He was disinterested, rude, and made me feel like an idiot on my first visit for not knowing everything about the menu right away. HOWEVER, I'm not a person that will let one guy ruin my enjoyment of anything so I look forward to my next visit. :) read more

I was super excited because the menu description lists grapes as part of the ingredients of Newk's chicken salad sandwich! I love chicken salad with grapes!!! I have ordered this sandwich on 3 separate occasions and have received a total of 1 grape. That's right, 2 of the 3 had a one half of a grape in them and the 3rd sandwich had nothing. SO disappointing. Add more grapes PLEASE!! Although, I will probably never know if you do. These scars run deep. I don't think I can go back for fear of being left sans grapes yet again. Oh the humanity!! At this point, I can only hope to help others who may come here ordering chicken salad with grapes to GET those grapes!! They deserve those grapes!! Pizzas are meh. Usually love coming here because the food is great but just had such poor customer service. Came in at 5 on a Tuesday to pick up an online order and was acknowledged by no one. Walked in and stood at the counter, girl behind just walked away. Saw a Togo bag at the Togo register so walked over there. Wanted to talk to them and make sure it was mine before I just grabbed it and left, but after standing and waiting and making eye contact with 3 different people (no one said a single word) I just grabbed it and left. Went out on a limb and ordered a salad instead of my normal NewksQ. I ordered the ultimate salad and it was huge and had just the perfect amount of dressing; however, no flavor for all of the ingredients it had. Next time I'll get the usual as it never disappoints. This was my first time here and there were at least 7 tables that needed cleaning. Two workers were just standing at the cashier while there were no customers coming in. One of the workers(the guy) decided to clean tables while the girl stood at the cashier and watched him while telling him that he had to do some other things. I'll probably come back and give this another go. I wasn't unimpressed by my first visit with a friend, but certainly wasn't impressed. This eatery has a nice niche - moderately healthy food, accessible for both lunch and casual dinner, and ample offerings to please about anybody. The menu focuses on salads, pizzas, and sandwiches, though they also tout their macaroni & cheese and soups. At first glance, you get a McAlister's feel from them, but with pizzas. Initially I was glad that they have a 1/2 and 1/2 option on the menu, but it isn't quite what I'd like to see - the 1/2 salad is only on the house or caesar. With so many options on the menu, I'd simply to be able to try more things at each meal. This is one place they fall short of places like Panera and McAlister's. A second is that they don't have calorie counts right on the menu, which seems like a must for a health-conscious restaurant. I opted for the black & bleu salad. It was not bad, but there was not a lot in it to excite me. In retrospect, I should have gotten up to dress the salad up at the condiment bar. At it arrived to me, it was bland pieces of steak tossed with bland greens and massively too much dressing. And mild bleu cheese flavor. The most flavorful part of the salad was the onion. It just needed help. My guest got the chicken pesto sandwich. He said it was good, although my thought was that it looked pretty small. He got a pasta salad with it. I'd come back and try it again, because the menu is abundant and the descriptions of everything sound great. But I'd advise anyone to get dressing on the side of a salad, and I'd probably try the pizza next. read more

We had a coupon so we headed over for lunch. I'm in love w/this place! The Royal sandwhich and the Pimento/Bacon Mac& Cheese rocked! It was so fresh and the Condiment Bar is a great touch. Super addition to Plano. My daughter knew of it from New Orleans and raved about it. Greated at the door by new owner/managers. My husband and I had salads - Cobb and Steak and Bleu - super fresh. This place is like going to Jason's Deli, but having your mama work there in the kitchen pushing out delicious soups and sandwiches and pizzas. OK. Well, maybe not my mama (cuz she doesn't cook American food), but maybe a mama that has a cooking show on the food network. I really enjoy the soup and sandwich lunch special; the crab and lobster bisque is unreal, the potato soup is hearty, the italian sandwich is rich and the pesto chicken sandwich is superb. Ordering and getting your food is just like Jason's and the service is fast :) This will definitely be the new lunch spot whenever I'm at this side of the metroplex! read more
