I needed an endodontist for a couple upper root canals and after reading a bunch of their reviews decided to go with Dr V at Newport Root Canal. I am so glad I did. Insurance covered a some and I paid a bit out of pocket but honestly didn't mind all that much because he saved my tooth that I was assured by others it needed to be pulled. It was painless, smooth, and fast. The staff are wonderful, kind and considerate. He is so talented and informative. They have state of the art equipment which makes for truly amazing results. My mouth was completely healed by the time I took my last antibiotic and am so thankful. As a retired nurse, I look for doctors that have a specialty with a serious eye . Dreading a root canal was no joke and I wanted to find the best endodontist. After much research, Dr. Vahdati was number one and my experience was nothing but, perfection and a painless, and I mean painless event. As the doctor will say, pain is subjective, but I am one who hates any kind of pain, and this procedure was so much easier than getting a filling, honestly! Dr. Vahdati is something of a miracle worker. I have had to go to him twice to fix root canals gone wrong. Apparently the anatomy of my teeth is very complicated. Each time, he was able to succeed where the other endodontists couldn't. Most importantly, he uses this "Gentle Wave" technology that truly makes a difference in post-root canal swelling and pain. Having experienced two root canals with other endodontists without it and two with Dr. Vahdati with it, I can tell you that it's not hype -- it truly reduces the swelling and pain by 10x. This is an OUTSTANDING dental clinic! They specialize only in root canals so you know what you're getting when you walk in the door. I want to give specific shoutouts to: Dr. Tala for having a great command of what was being done. I am uneasy with dental work and she went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable with what felt like a complicated job. Romi as Dr. Tala's assistant added to my comfort level and gave me hand signals to indicate if I needed anything or if something being done caused me any discomfort. This Office Newport Root Canal is the best in OC.. if you need a RC then this is the place.. I went to a so-called Up Scaled dental office in Irvine that did Root canals and they drilled 3 roots from my 1st molar.. I still had an infection going on and went back to that Dr and he said your body must heal on its own.. but was taking a bunch of antibiotics and still had the infection, so after that I went to Newport Root Canal and that Office was awesome.. I went in there, got a X-ray. and they drilled a 4th root which was my problem, then they finished my root canal and my tooth has not given me any problems since, I can't say enough about this Office.. Now this office is not like in Irvine or say Newport beach but it's not the location or the most expensive equipment that makes a Dr.. it's the Dr's Skills and knowledge that makes a great Dentist.. and Newport Root Canal is such a place. read more

STOP!! If you need a Root Canal look no further because this place is the best. Nobody likes the dentist, I don't care how great your dentist is as a person most people don't like going to the dentist. Sure enough after my last cleaning my dentist tells me I need a root canal and of course my dentist recommended his buddy down the street. I'm sure the place down the street was good enough but I started doing my homework and I learned very quickly that not all root canal specialists are the same. Dr. Vahdati and his staff are amazing! Not only do they provide a great service but they use the absolute best, state of the art equipment. And then to top it off I find out from my cousin in Texas that Dr. Vahdati is also an amazing professor at UCLA and has been for many many years. I could go on and on but the truth is when I do something I really do a lot of research and it's my opinion that Dr. Vahdati is absolutely the best. I cannot recommend this place enough!!! I never post yelp reviews but I felt this was deserved! The employees and doctors at this office were so incredible and kind and caring and the work they did on my teeth was amazing! And they saved my teeth and saved me thousands of dollars! Story time : I went to another Endo first because I had an infection in two teeth where I had root canals done 10 years prior and he told me I shouldn't bother redoing the root canals because it wasn't guaranteed they could save the teeth and that I should just extract those two molars since I was already getting my wisdom teeth extracted in a month. Well the cost of the extra extractions and implants was going to cost me an extra 14-15 thousand dollars out of pocket. Which I didn't have . So I decided to get a second opinion , I found this place in Newport and the doctor told me I think we should try to save the teeth! We should at least try! So they did. And they were amazing they re did my old root canals found the cause of the infection cleaned it all up and saved my teeth and saved me from spending thousands of dollars which I didn't have! And it didn't hurt! I have no tolerance for pain but the doctor was so good and gentle I had no issues . I can't thank this office enough! They were awesome. And so nice! :) read more

Absolutely amazing job! I was highly nervous about my root canal appointment and thought about delaying the treatment a thousand times. I also contemplated being put to sleep for the procedure but I ended up just going with the numbing. I felt like I was taken care of from the very start. The dentist cared AND was willing to accommodate for my nerves/pain. The entire office was knowledgeable, friendly & caring. This will be my first of two reviews about Newport Root Canal. I will post another once my root canal is completed. I was referred to Newport Root Canal by a dentist for a re-treatment of a old root canal. Dr. Bahour and the team at Newport Root Canal were very friendly and welcoming. Francis is the front desk and insurance administrator. She is kind and has a great smile for everyone. I had a CT of my teeth and jaw for the first time and the xray tech Bagham told me what she was going to do every step of the way, greatly reducing any anxiety. Dr. Bahour explained the procedure and pros and cons of root canal vs. extraction. I did not feel pressure to decide either way. He just gave me info and respected me enough to make my own informed decision. I have chosen to try to save that molar so I will be back for the procedure. Great experience. read more

Just had a root canal with Dr Vahdati. And it was a complicated case on an eye tooth that is holding a bridge and it was recovering from infection. I felt no pain while he and his assistant worked on me. They also made me comfortable at all times, even during this time of extra PPE and extra sanitizing of everything. My experience with Dr. Vahdati, last Friday, was really great. He is the Zen Master of Endo. From the beginning to end, really no pain or discomfort. I am in the dental field so I know about his equipment and I can tell you, he has the latest and the greatest. A cone beam (3D X-ray) and a gentle Wave Endo machine that reduces lots of filing and chair time with better results! I was recently referred to Dr Vahdati for a possible root canal procedure. I can't say enough about my experience with him and his team. From the minute I walked in the door and was greeted by Francis, his receptionist, to his staff that took CT scans and his assistants, I felt very comfortable and at ease. Dr. Vahdati explained every step he was taking during the procedure which helped me to remain calm. I had three root canals done in less than two hours from the time I entered his office until I walked out the door. He prescribed antibiotics and pain medication. I took the pain medication the first day of my procedure and none the days following. I was amazed that I had no pain, swelling or discomfort at all. I highly recommend Dr. Vahdati and his staff.
