Dr. Gharib is incredible. I am a rare case. 1 in a thousand who cannot get numb in the normal way. My nerves run different than regular people. You numb me in one area but I'll feel it in another. He took the time to find the correct place that would actually numb me before my procedure. It was in a place he doesn't even normally numb, but he was so patient in working with me and talking things out that he was able to accomplish the impossible. And I stayed numb throughout the entire procedure. Other dentists said I would need to be knocked out, but Dr. Gharib found a way around it and my procedure was painless. My husband had emergency tooth pain, this happened on Sunday afternoon. Our primary dentist and our referral network was closed. Found Dr. Cancellier on the web. Left a message and he called us back in 10 minutes to appolgize for not being able to help as he was on vacation with his family. Still offered us advise to manage the pain and for follow up on Monday if we couldn't get other help. I had a toothache over the weekend and called Dr Gharib Tuesday morning. He saw me Tuesday at 12:30, probably his lunch hour. He tested me and said I needed a root canal. Three hours later, squeezed me in completed the root canal. During the procedure he was very caring and mindful of what you are going through. He wanted to make sure I went through as little pain as possible. Except for a few pinches with the Novocain there was no pain at all. I would recommend Dr Gharib to my mother. read more

During my wife's procedure, Dr. Gharib was extremely communicative, letting her know exactly what he was doing. He constantly checked with her to find out if she was experiencing any pain or discomfort. Dr. Gharib was careful to wait to make sure that the local anesthetic shots he applied became fully effective before proceeding, and quickly finished his work. I had my first root canal at Endodontics of Orange County with Dr. Cancellier about 4 years ago and was very happy with my treatment there. This week I had a dental emergency and my primary dentist, Dr. Hahn, referred me there again. He informed me that Dr. Cancellier had retired and Dr. Gharib had taken over the practice. He said that every patient he had referred was happy with the new doctor. I was a bit nervous, because I was in pain and I had never been treated by Dr. Gharib. A root canal is never a pleasant experience but Dr. Gharib, Sharon and Christine made it as pleasant as possible. Dr. Gharib immediately puts you at ease. He has a very calming bedside manner, explains each step to you and is very conscious of your comfort throughout the process and even once you leave the office. It is also evident that he is a very skilled doctor and a perfectionist in his work. I also am very appreciative that Christine at the front desk was considerate when I had an issue upon checking out with my HSA card. Rather than having me deal with it right then, she allowed me to leave, fill my prescriptions, call the bank later to straighten out the issue with the card and take care of payment later that day. This review is for Dr. Gharib. First of all, due to the complication of my case (gum diease, a failed implant, and infection), I went to see multiple Dentists, Periodontists, Endodontists to get different opinions. In the past 4 months, I was so disappointed because nobody was able to pinpoint what the real problem was until I saw Dr. Gharib. Originally, I was going to have Dr. Cancelliers to perform a Root Canal on me because he has one of the best reviews in OC, but he had JUST retired when I was ready to do it after months of research. I was devastated. Thank god Dr. Gharib took over the practice, and he gave me the confidence that I had been looking for immediately. After taking an CT scan, he knew exactly what the problem was. Everything he said made sense (I did a lot of research online) and, he thoroughly explained my options and the Root Canal precedure. I was so comfortable with him, and I agreed to do a Root Canal right away. Dr. Gharib was so skilled even the numbing was wonderful. He was very gentle and caring throughout the entire procedure, and he informed me every single step so I knew what to expect and how well the procedure was going. I am not joking. I had ZERO pain during and after the procedure. I felt immediately relieved from the infection, and he called me (not once but twice) to check up on me. After seeing/speaking with so many dentists in the past several months, Dr. Gharib shows me what an excellent doctor should be. It sounds strange, but I can't wait to see him again in about a month to make sure the infection is gone, so I can proceed with an implant that is behind the infected tooth that Dr. Gharib worked on.
