They have great hours so I was able to easily schedule allotments at times that worked for me. I went to my second visit, please that I was in less pain than before my first visit. It happens to take me 35 minutes to get there. I arrived and was told that they could not meet my needs and would not be seeing me today! They have canceled all my appointments! They abandoned a patient in pain! Unprofessional! While going to those place was an good step in recovering from an injury over a decade ago, I've found that only the NUCCA chiropractic technique yields lasting results. I highly recommend Dr. Chris Dawson at Portsmouth Family Chiropractic in New Hampshire, or anyone you can find on the NUCCA website. If your neck/back issues do not stem from a misaligned atlas bone, I recommend Dr. Yasmin Vafai at Light Touch Chiropractic in Belmont. It's the same chiropractic technique offered here. She doesn't have all the fancy treatments like the hydromassage table, but her rates are so much more reasonable than this place, and she's a warm and kind person. read more

I go to Physical Therapy with Jeff Goldman at this facility. I highly recommend him. This is my third time seeing him for a variety of muscle strains and tears. Each time he has been very thorough in explaining what he is doing and why. He is open to questions and gives answers that make sense to me. He does not use a "one size fits all" approach to healing. I feel that my exercises are highly individualized. I will make an effort not to strain any more muscles in the future, but if I do, Jeff is the PT I will choose for help. read more

I never thought I would look forward to going to the chiropractor. Between the friendly, helpful staff at the front desk, to the sincerity of work and care that Dr. Burke provides, it has been such a pleasure coming here. This isn't your traditional chiropractor! They use a technique called NSA and believe in healing from the inside out, and use light touch suggestions rather than force, to encourage re-alignment of the spine, which is the control center of the body. Network Spinal Analysis (NSA) is a form of treatment which releases and retrains deeply ingrained holding patterns and tensions. It does this through a very gentle system of light touches (called entrainments) and through coaching and exercises in breathing techniques. The chiropractor makes suggestions to your body through a series of light touches and helps your spine release tension and realign itself in a more balanced way. It's truly healing from the inside out, not a quick fix like some other methods of chiropractic that force the body to change old deeply ingrained habits. Dr. Burke & Dr. Coleman helped my back tremendously and I could not recommend Newton Chiropractic more. I have done the hydromassage, traditional massage, orthotics and chiropractic care here and benefited immensely. NCWC is easily the best Chiropractic and overall physical health establishment I've ever encountered. Dr Julie Burke has created an environment that is as unique as it is effective. I was involved in a car accident about a year ago that really messed up my middle and upper back, and neck. I met with Dr Coleman on my first visit, we did some testing and he put together a comprehensive plan for me involving chiropractic and massage treatments of varying type. I had the pleasure of working with every provider (depending on the day) and each have styles unique to themselves, and cohesive to your overall wellness plan. I learned so much from them about myself...from body mechanics and maintenance routines, to subtle energetic imbalances and breath work...they have it all. Dr Burke has put together quite a team. None of my review even accounts for their new "Indoor Oasis" relaxation spa as it was just finished being built so I never got to use it, but I saw it...and it is a sight to be seen, and a must visit for anyone who likes to relax (I assume everyone?) I can't wait to get back there for some float therapy (highly highly recommend, I've floated elsewhere and as a therapy in general there is nothing else like it), infrared sauna, new Halotherapy...and their 4D massage chairs that feel like a big warm hug from the universe of love. Fabulous !!!! I have no idea why everyone does not go there. As we grow older,( doesn't everyone grow older) our bodies deteriorate. But that does not have to be. Understanding more of how our bodies work and what we can do to makeour bodies not only feel better, but thrive ( yes even at age 70) is critical. It is not only the foods we eat, or the amount of exercise we may get. What also counts is being aware of the destructive chemicals contained in so many items, creams, foods, etc upon which we have come to depend are really poison for our systems, health and wellbeing, physical mental and emotiona.. I absolutely love this place. I've had upper and lower back pain for years and years, and Dr. Coleman and Dr. Burke have helped me tremendously. They are both warm, welcoming, knowledgeable, and expert. Newton Chiropractic also offers massage. I have seen Misha for massage there many times, and honestly she is the best massage therapist I have ever seen (and I've gone to many!). Her style is deep tissue, and she is so friendly, warm and helpful. The front desk staff know me by name, and are always quick to get me back. I've never had to wait more than a few minutes. After purchasing the Groupon for 2 visits, I was hoping that the hydro massage included would help with my neck pain. I didn't know much about chiropractic before visiting so I didn't really know what to expect from the adjustments. Little did I know, there were way more problems with my back than just the neck pain I was feeling. Several months and 30+ visits later, coming to Newton Chiropractic was one of the best decisions of my life. I work as a lab tech so sitting at a hood all day is extremely taxing on the neck/back. When I first started with Dr. Nick Penzarella, he understood exactly what I was going through and what the best treatment for me was. His knowledge of the spine is incredible and he can pinpoint your problem quickly even if it differs with every visit. He's very encouraging and patient if you don't really understand being on the table at first. I also did some work with Dr. Burke and Dr. Coleman in the middle and they were outstanding as well. I went from visiting twice a week to once a month, and as a result this is the best I've felt physically in 3 years. If your back or neck is hurting then this is the place to go. From what I can tell, it's very different from *other* chiropractic offices because you get a sense that people working here truly want you to feel better, and you're more than just a customer. Since I started seeing Dr. Nick Penzarella I have been AMAZED with the results. He is an extremely talented and knowledgeable doctor and has not only relieved the pain in my lower back but has dramatically improved my quality of life. A few years ago, I purchased an inexpensive Groupon for three short sessions, since I figured it's worth trying at that price. If you're thinking of doing that or coming in for any kind of assessment, I'd strongly advise you not to. These people are manipulative con artists, trying to sucker you out of your money. After the initial exam (consisting of a number of tests/measurements using various apparatuses), Dr Burke reviewed the test results in what was a long, aggressive sales pitch. I don't remember many specific details, but it was painfully clear to me from early on that she was being manipulative and disingenuous. Her tone was patronizing (another review here notes that the other doctor talked to them "like [they] had a 5th grade education" and that's precisely how I felt with Dr Burke) and she greatly exaggerated the extent of my muscular problems in an attempt to sell me a $2000 - $3000 treatment plan. (That's why they do all those flashy tests in the beginning, with all kinds of weird devices - so they can later say "Look! You have such and such problem. But we can solve it ... for a few thousand dollars"). By the way, the treatment plan included, something like 30 massages. (If your chiropractic method is so good, why do I need so many massages? I could get those at many other places.) It was incredibly annoying to have to sit through her manipulative blabber, nodding and acting like I would seriously consider stepping foot in this quack factory ever again. Since this was a few years ago, I don't remember specific examples of what she said to trigger red flags (but it was a shit ton of red flags). I do remember one thing - she showed and explained to me the results of one test. It was something like a diagram of your back muscles, in which specific muscles (based on the 'measurement') were colored in green, yellow, or red. She explained something along the lines of: green means good, red means it's overworking, yellow means it's not working enough. I asked her if I can have that diagram to show to my massage therapist. She seemed surprised and retorted "She wouldn't understand it! It's taken me years to understand these things!".... Oh, really?! You literally just explained it in a couple of sentences that a five year old can understand... read more

I have been seeing Dr. Burke, Dr. Coleman and more recently Dr. French for the past 3 years. I also used a groupon initially but given my experience I decided to continue. I work with computers all day, have poor posture and no ab muscles to speak of so slouch a lot. I have also had many ankle injuries. When Dr. Burke went over my test results there were no surprises. I carry a lot of stress in my upper back and neck so constantly need adjustments. A recent evaluation showed a 30% improvement over 3 years in my neck. Whenever I have gone in for adjustments, I have always left in less pain or no pain than when I went in. Just last night I went in with a lot of pain in my wrists, neck, elbows and forearms from playing a new game on my phone for hours each night for the past week. When I walked out, I was practically pain free. During periods when I had ankle injuries, the adjustments drastically reduced the pain my ankles. I have had traditional manipulations that are very forceful given how tight the muscles in my neck and upper back are. The work of the Drs. at NCWC is gentle and there is a level of care for your overall wellbeing. Many times as a result of releasing the pressure and stress on the spine and muscles, emotions associated with the stress-inducing event surface. The Drs. have been really supportive and caring when this happens. During some very difficult and stressful times I went through, both Dr. Burke and her husband Rob were very supportive and took time to ask me how I was doing and to listen. I have flat feet and have never been able to wear flipflops without pain in my knees. I wear custom orthotics in my shoes. Rob fitted me for flipflops with built in orthotics and when I got them they were too big. He got them redone and I still felt weird with them. He told me to try them at home for a few days and would take them back if I still didn't find them comfortable. I am so glad he did as I totally totally love them. They are extremely comfortable and I can now wear flipflops all through the summer! He also gave me recommendations for two stores to buy footwear, one that I had never heard of and they did an amazing job helping me find shoes that work with the width of my feet and the orthotics I use. I've had massages from Gina who is amazing. The front desk staff and other support staff are amazing and help get me whatever documentation I need for insurance or FSA and fit me in for last minute scheduling. I am looking forward to the new floatation tank and halotherapy (himalayan salt) services opening soon. read more

Shocked by all the positive reviews. Dr Pen was irritating, talked to me like I had a 5th grade education (I have a degree from Harvard Law School) and patronizing. Technigues seemed like quack chiropractics, including placing hand in the edge of my butt crack. Then charged me 35 dollars (when I usually have 0 dollars due as co-pay) when they were suppose to take UHC from the website but at the end I find out they are out of network with them. I purchased a groupon last fall in a final attempt to fix my chronic back pain. I had never tried chiropractic and was very skeptical as I had tried many other avenues to fix the pain. I started seeing Dr. Penzarella and after a few visits became amazed with the results! He was very informative about what was causing my pain and how to fix it, I found his approach to be very professional and I am now pain free! What a blessing! I experienced relatively infrequent, but often excruciating, pain in one of my buttocks for 6-8 years. Acupuncture, physical therapy and other approaches failed to work. After just a few sessions Dr. Burke relieved the pain. Although I had recurrence, she quickly ended it, and I am confident in her ability to do so in the future.
