Lots of parking lots surrounding the shopping center (vs Citadel where the one lot and parking structure is a hike away). Plenty of places to eat as well inside and on the perimeter. Only.negative, I arrived right at opening time.and surprised to see stores not yet opened. Opening 5-15 minutes after! Smaller stores with only .one person staffing. Guessing its the norm here. Next time I won't come at opening time!

I have never encountered this issue in the past as I have always dressed nicely when visiting this mall and we have always in the past planned visits around getting a meal or buying some things during our mall walking, but this time we didn't want to spend much money and didn't bother to dress up which ostensibly is a huge problem to South Coast Plaza security and seemed to put a target on us. Good forbid two people who don't look rich want to enjoy a beautiful air conditioned mall on a hot day. Let this be a warning to all that you should look rich and/or visibly be actively spending money here if you want to avoid being followed.

During Christmas, staff were passing out beanies and some Christmas goodies but again mainly for the children. There were candies cane, Santa, and some small drinks. For Lunar New Year - the children receive red horses in 2026 Year of the Red Horse that won't come again for another 60 years! Adults and Children got red envelopes $2!!:)) Happy Lemon was passing out drink but OMG the line was long so we skipped. The line is LONG but first come first serve basic. Free stuff run out fast so come 30 minutes early. There are foods, coffee, ice cream in the plaza but again it is CROWDED during event times! Parking - if you arrive early, there's parking in the Regal parking lot. If you arrive late, it best to Park across the street where 24 Hours Fitness is located.

The mall does tend towards high end stores with a small smattering of standard stores but in general, there are a wide variety of stores. Plenty of dining options from high end or quick casual. You can even do your grocery shopping here as there is a Whole Foods market. They occasionally have special events. I happened to be here during the Lunar New Year event so one of the areas was decked out with Year of the Horse decorations. I also always walk by the Koi pond to see how the fishes are doing. Staff has always been friendly and helpful when I visit.

This is probably the closest place for us to get that Lunar New Year vibe but since we're very familiar with the area, we pretty much finished one lap and then decided to head elsewhere for food. For anyone interested, here are the details: **23rd Annual Lunar New Year Flower Festival** Asian Garden Mall 9200 Bolsa Ave, Westminster, CA 92683 Dates: 1/29 - 2/15/2026 Flower market vendors: Daily 10AM - 10PM (Located at the main plaza right in front of Asian Garden Mall) Food night market vendors: Thursday-Sunday only, 6PM - 10PM (The food stalls are on the left side as you face the mall) Just a heads-up: the flower market itself is actually pretty small. You can walk through it in one short loop. Vendors sell flowers, red envelopes, Lunar New Year decorations, couplets, hanging ornaments, firecrackers, and some traditional Vietnamese outfits. If you're coming specifically for a big flower market, it's good to manage expectations because it's quite limited. On the left side, there's a short row of food stalls offering grilled meats, seafood, Vietnamese spring rolls, fried snacks, sugarcane juice, steamed corn, grilled corn, and more. The selection is fairly diverse. Since there are regular storefronts right across from the stalls, the area feels lively at night, with temporary tables and chairs set up- definitely has that night market vibe. Most food vendors (like 9 out of 10) don't list prices, so you'll need to ask and they're cash only. If you're expecting a huge flower festival or cheap night market food, you might feel a bit disappointed. Prices are on the higher side, more like special event pricing. That said, it's a once-a-year festive atmosphere, so if you're already there, might as well enjoy it and not overthink the cost. At night, you'll see lots of Vietnamese families coming out together to eat, and there were even aunties and uncles singing and dancing in front of the mall. It was pretty fun to watch. The mall itself closes around 7PM, but if you come earlier, it's actually worth spending some time inside. The second floor is split pretty evenly- half of it is clothing shops, and the other half is jewelry stores selling diamonds and gold. I even had my engagement ring resized here before, and the pricing was very reasonable. There's also a food court on the first floor, so if the night market food doesn't appeal to you, you can eat inside the mall, walk across to the Seafood Palace plaza, or head a bit further toward the plaza nearby T & K Supermarket for more dining options.
