I was determined not to have to make another trip and sat in my car struggling with the website, Changed my password 3 times--no fun. Finally, a bit harried, I went back into the store with my open box. "Thome" who had helped me before, kindly took the box, taped it up for me and printed the label for me as well! I came across Encore via a broker. I was not happy with the broker, but I could not be more…read moresatisfied with Encore. I moved from Chicago to Huntsville, Alabama, and the portion that was paid to encore was more than affordable and reasonable.. The team arrived in Chicago to professionally wrap my furniture, and make sure that I had a parts box for any legs that came off or screws . Professionally wrapped mirrors for an additional charge as well as a TV that I had. I do believe this was paid through the broker but the movers were part of encore and they did an amazing job. They were in and out very quickly, had my itemized list and told me that they would be in communication with me for delivery. I commend them for getting a moving truck in downtown Chicago and the professionalism they had in dealing with the high-rise building maintenance and navigating the red tape. True to their word, they did follow up with me about a week later to let me know that they would be delivering to my new address and as practicality would have if a semi truck would fit or if I needed a courier, etc. My items were delivered to whichever room I wanted after they made sure to put protection on the door frames and the floor and then furniture was unwrapped and legs were put back on as well. They also made sure that they cleaned up any tape or any mess that would be left behind. Moving is very stressful and I'm not entirely sure, but I believe this is a small family owned company and I could not sing the praises of the staff enough. These guys work really hard and all types of conditions and they still showed up with a smile on their face and answered every one of my questions. I am a very OCD type of a person so I was in communication with their office and they were super responsive. Every time I called for any question that I had. My suggestion is to use this moving company whenever you're able and book direct with them if you can. Great job and thank you Encore team! My parents are planning a move in the next coming year and this is the company that I will be using again!

This will be a long story. We used Encore for 3 moves from Illinois to South Carolina. In each…read moreinstance we suffered a problem. The first move was fine until the unloading. The driver was driven to unload fast and damaged the pine floors with the last furniture piece. The second move involved a packing problem. Other goods were on the truck and had to be unloaded before accessing our goods. Again, the local hires were driven to work fast with little regard for where we wanted things. The final move was terrible. The final packing was grossly underestimated. As a result, the packing involved 2 very late nights to meet the closing date. It resulted in a complete disaster in South Carolina. After weeks of beginning the unpacking we discovered one broken platter and many missing articles. That began the frustrating claims process. Encore turns the process over to a third party service. After much frustration in completing the necessary forms, we were told they had 120 days to review the claim. As that deadline approached we were advised they were extending the deadline an additional 45 days. After almost 9 months we now have our final settlement offer of $554 after submitting a claim for over $10,000 involving many missing items, The settlement is justified by relying on the $.60 per pound coverage. I have never been so disgusted and frustrated by the lack of caring and service. I accept that the contract hangs me on the $.60 pound limit. However, the goods never arrived and somewhere someone is enjoying my sport coats and tux. I am hopeful I never have to move again and go thru such disgusting experience.
