I've been a yelp member for long, but never has anyone blown me away with the service level like that of Next Generation Heating and Air. I've worked with Bill before and he is excellent. This time it was Ryan. Our central heating was going off and on intermittently and it failed to regulate the temperature inside the house. Well the mornings became unbearably cold and I decided to call Next Generation Heating and Air again. Bill was away so he sent Ryan to do the job, he came out within a few hours, which was amazing since if he hadn't come to repair it, I'd have to buy space heaters and honestly I don't like space heaters cause of plug overheating. Ryan came to our house, explained to me extensively what could have gone wrong, fixed the problem, tested it for about 20-25 min before leaving. During one of the hottest weekends of the summer our air conditioner stopped producing cold air. The unit would turn on but we could not get any cold air! It was a sad sad day for us. Before calling next generation we had contacted a different company who told us that one of our conductors was bad and that we could either replace the conductor for $200 or the entire motor for $400+. WHAT? We decided to get a second opinion from Next Generation. We called Next Generation the following morning and were able to get an appointment the same day. Bill came to our rescue! He was great! Very thorough and professional. He explained each step of his process and made sure we completely understood everything he was doing. He really made us feel confident that we could trust his work. Additionally, he educated us on the workings of our unit and how we could maintain it so it will last longer. We were so impressed with the service! After checking a few places, Bill found that a piece was broken in the unit. He fixed it within a few minutes and was able to get our air conditioning running right away! Amazing! And at NO additional cost! (Remember how much the last guy tried to charge me?) After confirming that the unit worked well, he checked the freon levels to ensure the air was at the right temperature. Like I said - thorough service! I have honestly found the only heating and air company I will ever need. I used Next Generation Air before during the summer of 2013 for our AC unit and I loved the customer service. A week ago our water heater broke and I decided to give them a call again. Ryan came right out the same day and evaluated the water heater. He is very knowledgeable and honest. He will try to exhaust all minor possibilities first. Which he did in our case... He cleaned out the wires in the water heater and we had hot water running within the hour. He explained that it could be an issue with the thermocouple but he wanted to make sure it just didn't need to be cleaned first. Four days later at 5pm we had the same issue with our water heater, no running hot water. I immediately called and Ryan came out ASAP that evening! I HIGHLY recommend Next Generation Air, it's hard to find companies that are honest and not looking to rip you off. If I could give more stars I would. The condenser fan motor seized on my A/C unit last week, right at the peak of the 90 degree weather. Being somewhat familiar with A/C units and an electrician I took the unit apart myself and found the fan motor seized (not moving/very hard to turn). So I began my search for a motor. I Actually called Dell's Heating and air first simply because they came up first in my search for A/C companies in Tracy. Dell's did not answer the phone......ever, this is on a Friday at 930am. Called several times that day and no answer. My wife actually knew where their office was and said we should swing by and see if they were open, which they weren't. Even though it was during their normal advertised business hours. Next Generation was my next call. Their secretary was very friendly and said she wasn't sure if they had any motors in stock but would have her tech Bill call me. While waiting for Bill to call me I also called Altamont Mechanical heating and air. Altamont told me that they would come replace the condenser fan motor for $400, and no they don't sell the motor to the public but maybe Grainger would have one. WHAAAAAAT?????!!!! Are you flippin kidding me $400? the motor costs $97 on amazon! I just didn't want to wait if I could source locally. Then Bill of Next Generation came though! We spoke on the phone and I explained my situation. Bill even provided additional troubleshooting advice, suggesting the capacitor may also be the problem. We exchanged some texts so he could see the motor information and then provided me with 2 options. I could replace the motor with an identical aftermarket motor that he had at the shop(which is what was was in the unit) for $90 or he could order me an OEM for $120. Waiting was not an option and the aftermarket motor had been working fine since I bought the house 6 years ago so that's what I got. I drove up to their shop up by 205, met Bill there and bought the motor. Bill even threw in the Capacitor for free and took the time to explain the installation. I am a returning happy customer and I recently had a problem with my hot water heater. Well, I called Ryan with Next Generation Heating and Air in hopes he could give me a referral to someone who works on hot water heaters. I was so glad to find out that Ryan said he would come out and take a look for me. When Ryan arrived, he looked at my water heater and said that it was my thermocoupling and it needed to be cleaned. I can't tell you enough how thankful I am for finding these guys! I am a single mom who works two jobs and when something doesn't work...it's up to me to see that it gets fixed! First off, I called Next Generation Heating and Air and left a message on a Saturday morning and within 15 minutes I received a call back from Bill Sr. who came out within a few hours the same day (no extra charge for a Saturday appt/ no hidden fee like another company charged me years ago). I was so happy to hear that! Bill inspected my furnace and said that I needed a part which needed to be ordered and asked if Monday would work for me. I said sure but that day I was scheduled to work late and would not get home until after 6:00pm as I commute daily. He said no problem, that the technician would be his son, Ryan. As promised Ryan arrived at my house with the part and got me up an running again for a very reasonable price.....including parts and labor! Disappointed in the service!!!! It took Bill 2 weeks to do an hour repair on my AC at my rental. I was on his schedule and the first time he came, he was almost 2 hours late. Bill then explained to me that he would have to come back another day, and he didn't show up on that day. I called his cell phone, left a voice mail, and he didn't return my phone calls. I called the office left ANOTHER voice-mail and they finally got back to me saying that he would come on the weekend.... and then when he did FINALLY show up, and I was charged me $150.00 more than was originally quoted told me. My AC was not a priority for them nor did they value my future business because I called on Tuesday and left a voice mail with the "automated customer service" (to give them a second chance to service another home) and have yet to here back from anyone and it is now Thursday afternoon. read more

If I could give more stars I would. My problem started when my ac unit was turning on but there was no air coming from the vents. To make a very long story short I used Next Generation Heating and Air as a second opinion. Bill (owner) came out and was such a sweet heart. He replaced a part and within minutes my ac was back on. He is a lifesaver! He's such a nice guy that he even went outside and cleaned my ac unit which he didn't have to. I recommend this company 100%. Btw, the last company told me I needed to replace my furnace which was going to cost me over $2500. I was so upset that I knew it couldn't be true because the house is only 13 years old. He was very polite and knowledgible about the furnance. He spent time trouble shooting the issue, identifying the problem and explained what needed to be done to correct the situation. We have now had two+ days straight of triple digit heat and thanks to Next Generation Heating & Air our house has maintained a cool 76 degrees day and night. Back in July 2013 in the Tracy heat wave just before the 4th, our AC stopped working on a Friday. I called 6 different HVAC companies and 5 would not be able to make it out for at least 4 days. Next Generation came through and had a tech out on Sunday and got the old system back up and running, no extra charge for a Sunday service call. In addition to having the tech replace the blown capacitor, I had him give the system a full service and cleaning which it was in dire need of. I asked the tech how much longer he thought the original system would last and he said maybe one or two more years if I serviced it annually. Nice to not have a hard sell trying to convince me I needed to replace it as soon as possible. After having to suffer through two+ days with no AC in July, I decided come spring 2014 I would replace my system with a new one. In April I had Next Generation Heating & Air and 3 other HVAC companies quote on a new system, one company I had known used for years, one that does all the service work at my work and one from Costco. I had them all quote comparable systems that would take advantage of my existing duel zoning I had installed 5 years prior. In the end Next Generation Heating & Air not only came in with the lowest price, but the broadest scope of work. They replaced all the builder floor registers that were installed in the ceiling with proper ceiling registers at no extra charge. They increased inflow duct work and registers to allow the new system to breathe better. The installation was done in the time stated, the installers were great and the workmanship was excellent. If you need repair work done on your existing HVAC system, don't think twice about a calling Next Generation. If you are in the market for a new system, get more than one quote, but be sure to include Next Generation in the quote process. I am sure after meeting with Bill or Ryan, you will be impressed with the quality of product they offer and their detailed scope of work. I am looking forward to my $600+ per month PG&E summer bill dropping by a good amount this year due to the new system. There is no doubt in my mind that the new system is keeping the house cooler and running less often than the old one even being set at 76 degrees 24/7. read more

Property manager sent this company to my house and he called me on a Friday and said he would be at my house by 1:00 PM. At 3:30 he still didn't show up so I called and he said he would be right over. He didn't show up until 4:30 PM. Spent a few minutes looking at some of the equipment and said he can't fix it until Monday. Monday rolls around and he called my house sitter and told her that he would be by at 1:00 PM, and then changed it to 3:30PM. He never showed up at all. He called the next day and said that he would be over at 3:30 and never showed up. In the middle of summer, this is the kind of unprofessional conduct that gets a company fired. I urge everyone to avoid this company like the plague or be sorry. I don't know if he just over extended on business, trying to grab for too much at once, but he the bottom line was that he didn't do as he said he would and now we had to call someone else.
