I called NextCar because they had the best rate. I signed up with them things seemed fine I return the car and I had a sibling with me. I asked my sibling to move the car around to the side of the building. The next car people saw the sibling move the car and said that the sibling was on authorized to drive the car and then charged me an additional 10 dollars more for every day that I had the car because he move the car to a different location on the lot. They said he was an on on authorized driver they charged me an additional $10 for every day that I had the car, which ate all the savings up that I had originally had from the initial rate. When I talked to them, they told me they had already prededucted this extra money when I signed the agreement and my approval was not required. They would just keep this money. It is clear the staff are getting a bonus for all extra charges they can add on to your rental before the end of the contract. My original 30 dollar rate became 45 dollars per day when they finished. When I told my friends, they said they knew people where the same thing had happened to them. Therefore this is standard practice for next car. It was not just me. Be careful or go somewhere else. I read all the reviews and thought I would end up kicking myself for selecting Nextcar, anyways. I was mentally preparing myself for "worse experience ever" and "rude employees". I read almost every bad review and will say this. I was completely impressed and the Nextcar staff was extremely pleasant to work with. The only unpleasant experience was the shuttle bus over that was overcrowded. (You can walk to the car rental place at all) When I did walk off the shuttle, the facility was very clean, and I was greeted by the manager immediately. There was only one person in front of me, but they had plenty of other staff to get me started. I have traveled many times before over the past 39 years and this was the best car rental experience so far. Walked me to my rental ( upgraded me) vehicle was clean and smelled great. I'm guesses that Nextcar totally revamped its brand and staff, because I am going to go out of my way to pick this company if traveling to BWI, again. read more

I would highly recommend NEVER renting from NextCar. I rented a vehicle from the Orlando location in February 2019. I drove this vehicle for less than 100 miles when I rented it. When I returned the car I informed the employees that the air conditioning did not work when I tried to use it. They said and did nothing about it at the time. I paid my bill and left (also finding many additional hidden fees that were not made known prior to renting). Two months later as I checked my credit card statement (as I do monthly), the Orlando based NextCar charged my credit card for almost $800.00 for repairs to the air conditioning that I told them did not work. They charged my credit card TWO MONTHS AFTER I RENTED THE VEHICLE. I am getting the runaround from the employees and the General Manager, Peggy, will not return my phone call. TOTAL SCAM. I have reported this scam to the credit card company and am in the process of disputing these charges. read more

I'm kicking myself for not reading the fine print ahead of time. Upon arriving to Nextcar in Orlando, I was told I am required to have a minimum of $300,000 of liability insurance. I called my insurance provider, Geico, to increase my coverage because I thought paying an extra $10/day to Nextcar for their insurance was definitely a profuse amount considering that's how much the rental car cost per day! I found out that Geico offers a max of $100,000 of liability coverage and if I wanted more, I would have to purchase a separate umbrella policy. I have been racking my brain as to why Nextcar would require THAT MUCH coverage. The only reason I can think of is this is an up-sell they can get away with and squeeze more money out of each customer. I had to bite the bullet and pay this extra charge because I didn't have many other options. I will not be a repeat customer Unless they change this policy. I guarantee it. read more

My recent experience with NEXTCAR was beyond disappointing. Due to a family emergency, I couldn't return my rental car on time. When I tried to contact the company, my account was locked, and I was unable to extend the rental. When I spoke with the manager, Pam, she was incredibly rude, unyielding, and dismissive, which only added to the stress of the situation. To make matters worse, I attempted to rent another car from a different location, only to find out that Pam had blocked me from renting future vehicles. Despite being able to pay for the rental online, I was informed at the location that I couldn't rent the car, and they kept my payment, forcing me to wait several days for a refund. She treated me like I did not deserve to rent a car. She was looking up my information on mdcourts. I have spoken to the customer service and nobody has gotten back to me. SCAMMERS, DO NOT USE them, NEXTCAR scammed me and made me pay extra insurance that was never mentioned in the reservation form. its a scam. I should have gone with the larger company brand names, their rate seemed higher at first but I could have saved hundreds of dollar for the week. They said its in the "rental policy and rules" (3 clicks away) here is what they scammed me for they said is mandatory: SUPPLEMENTAL LIABILITY INSURANCE IS 11.95 PER DAY. You will be obligated to pay $24.95 PER DAY for insurance coverage. If you want to try to use your own, BRING YOUR INSURANCE POLICY, primarily the first page that states the type of coverage, I think they only accept full coverage. Be ready for all types of surprise fees you WILL pay close to double what you expected to pay. You may be subjected to the worst customer service so bring your thick skin. I don't have any complaints, I had a good experience.
