About a year ago I needed to find a new dentist and all places I tried had a month+ waiting list. A friend of mine recommended NextGen, and they were able to schedule me for the following week. I felt very well taken care of and I've been coming back ever since. Dr. Solomon is super nice and gentle, and always explains in detail everything that's going on with my teeth. This office is wonderful! I was visiting from out of town and my old dentist office had closed down and I desperately needed to be seen. This office took me in right away and worked with my schedule despite being a drop-in! The staff is incredibly kind and friendly, and not in the overbearing way that makes you uncomfortable and feel fake. They also have great bedside manner and want to make sure that you're relaxed and understand what is going on. The staff that helped me was Dr. Rathod and her assistant Jenny. They were incredibly sweet and so funny, which can be a con because ya know, they're all up in my mouth and I'm trying to not laugh so that they can do their job. They were all very nice and when I initially scheduled my appt it was 3 weeks out but since I was in pain the receptionist said she would make my appt a priority and get me in sooner if there were any cancellations, a couple days later there was a cancellation and I got in after only a week of waiting. At my appointment there wasn't any upselling or getting me to buy ridiculous treatments I dont need (which I've dealt with at other places) and when Dr. Solomon wanted to do a treatment for the pain she had the receptionist check how much I would be charged with my insurance and the receptionist asked me if I was ok with the cost before proceeding, great service! read more

The office staff and Dr. Manali Rathod immediately made me feel comfortable and welcomed. Dr. Rathod is extremely warm, professional and very knowledgeable, with an excellent "bedside manner" and excellent consultative skills. Dr. Rathod explained more about my teeth and gums than perhaps any dentist ever has. She showed me photos (not x-rays) of my teeth and gums which I'd never ever seen before. Really very eye-opening and educational. I need a deep cleaning because I haven't had good dental care in 3-4 years. One reason is that I didnt go to the dentist often becauae I didn't like Western Dental and I didnt know where else to go. For the deep cleaning, the office staff emailed me the total cost showing 80% insurance coverage and the dollar amount of my 20%. Great customer service. I haven't been to the dentist in two years. My last dentist was stressful and demanding. Dr. Solomon and her team are not. They made me feel good about getting as much brushing and flossing in as I can right now with a toddler. She made a couple of suggestions that were thoughtful and kind. I love this dental office! I used to go to Total Health across the street and got so fed up with padded bills, as well as dentists recommending care that was wildly out of my price range then shaming me if I deferred. So I started looking for another dentist's office, and my only regret is not coming here sooner! Dr. Solomon is so nice and gentle, checks in throughout, and provides great care. I am so happy with this Dentist office! I was able to get an appointment right away. I hadn't been to the dentist in years and I mean years. I was nervous but once I was greeted by Tina and the dental assistant I felt instantly relieved. I had a deep cleaning and was told any pricing before doing any work. The Dentist was friendly and explained things to me and didn't make me feel bad for my neglect, but she is also not going to sugar coat either which I appreciate. She was honest and even showed me how to properly floss and brush my teeth (no judgement even though I should know this by now). She gave me a treatment plan and I started some work right away. The facility is beautiful! Super clean, bright, and comfortable. I know this may sound corny, but I am excited to continue getting work done here, its time that I take care of my teeth. I avoided the dentist for years, because I was scared, broke, and uninsured. I am by no means floating in doe, but I finally have a job that has actual benefits, so its nice to be able to take care of my health. It took me sometime to find a new dentist in the East Bay, as my previous awesome dentist is in San Francisco but crossing the bridge was too much of a hassle. But the search has ended! NextGen Dentisty is on the Bart line in downtown Oakland. If you're driving, there's also ample parking. The staff - Tina at the front desk, Jenny the super dental assistant and Manali the capable dentist - were all super nice, efficient, explained everything and made things as comfortable as can be. I've been remiss in going to the dentist the last few years, so I was a little embarrassed going in and getting back on the good dental hygiene behavior. I went there for teeth cleaning. They offered really good service. The assistant did an x-ray, check cavity. I got fluoride after the cleaning as well. They also gave a toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss afterwards. My insurance is Delta dental ppo, and everything is fully covered. read more
