Highly recommend for adults and kids…read more Long review: I have severe anxiety about going to the dentist due to a dentist appointment in my late teens that resulted in my jaw muscle locking up and being unable to close my mouth. It's more painful and upsetting than it sounds. After a decade I found a dentist near my work in SF that worked with my anxiety. However, I stopped going in 2020 because of the panini. As I still had anxiety about another lockjaw incident, I wasn't in any rush to get a new dentist closer to home in Oakland...until my dog chewed my very expensive mouth guard. I found Dr. Dang via Google and the reviews were great. Making an appointment was very easy and the staff were incredibly friendly and understood my anxieties. Dr. Dang was very patient and kind, making sure to check if I was okay and let me know if we needed to take a break we could. I've gone back a second time to fill 2 of the 4 cavities I have and the experience was just as great as the first. While it's still anxiety inducing to go to the dentist, having staff that understand work with me makes going back much easier. I still have one more appointment for fillings and then I'm back to regular cleanings. I also got fitted for a mouthguard and it fit perfectly! Last note - Dr. Dang has great music taste! I loved the tunes playing during my visits.

Instead of going straight into business, they wanted to contact my insurance first to see how much my insurance would cover and discuss what the costs are before moving forward. I 100% appreciate their transparency. Another bonus is their great view of Oakland while you clean your teeth on the 12th floor. You also don't need to worry about parking as they will comp that when you tell them where you parked on the street (zone number by the pay machine) and license plate number. Today, upon arrival for a noon appointment, I was told they no longer accepted my insurance. Not good. Last visit, while having my teeth cleaned, the hygienist banged (BANGED) into my head EVERY time she swiveled her chair to jot down the sounding measurements of my gums (usually there is an assistant there to do this while the hygenist calls out the numbers). She had no clue even though I KEPT SITTING LOWER and LOWER in my chair to avoid the inevitable and highly inconsiderate head bumping. SIX TIMES she banged my head. Not good. Then they informed me I'd need "deep cleaning" = 2 $600 sessions because my gums were in trouble. Not good. Today i waited 45 minutes for a cavity to be filled. I left at 45 minutes as I did not want to get a parking ticket (meter was 1hr) and thought 45 minutes was enough. ONLY ONE PERSON THERE APOLOGISED. DO NOT GO HERE. Maybe four years ago, can't recall, another dentist, Shiyu Wang, DDS, did a root canal here in this same office, and while he was doing it, I .... fell asleep. Yeah. That has to be a good sign. And no, I was not drugged up at the time. This is a tiny office with views all over East Oakland, because you are up on the fifth floor. They are extremely caring and made sure payment plans worked in my favor. I received a relatively cheaper quote than other places (e.g Western Dental) for Invisalign. They gave friendly call reminders 24 hours in advance about your appointment. They provided comprehensive receipts with no hidden fees. The staff even build a relationship with you and it doesn't feel as transactional. I highly recommend this place for Invisalign treatment!
