The morning they were scheduled to pick up, they needed $250 more because the "only" truck available was charging more. I refused to pay it and told them to Cancel. At 6pm they "found" a new truck that would do it for the original price. The guy on the phone says, "I tried to charge your card but it did not go through". I had not authorized the charge OR agreed to the new pick up time. Thankfully I had locked my card. They were trying to trap me in by taking the money. Roughly a month ago, I found myself in need of having my automobile shipped from Albuquerque, New Mexico all the way to New York. Foolishly, I took this as a sign of dependability. I created an account and promptly received a quote for $1,425, along with a text message assuring me I would receive a telephone call one week prior to the scheduled shipment date. One week passed. Then two. Then three. Not a peep from them. Despite being told numerous times that I would receive a phone call, I was the one who continually had to contact them myself just to figure out what was going on. By the third week, I decided to ring them merely to ensure matters had not gone awry. I was told, in a most rehearsed manner, "We're working with our transport team to try and find a reliable pickup for you! We'll give you a call the day before your scheduled pickup." Though mildly irritated by the lack of communication, I remained patient. Another week elapsed. Still no telephone call. The vehicle was supposed to be shipped on Friday, and by Thursday evening I once again had to contact them myself. This time I was informed, "We're working with our transport team to try and find a reliable pickup for you. We'll most likely be able to pick it up Saturday." Saturday arrived. The exact same speech. Sunday arrived. The exact same speech. Monday arrived. You can likely surmise what they told me. By Tuesday, after nearly an entire month of dilatory excuses and empty assurances, I finally demanded to be placed on their so called "high priority" list and informed them that I was leaving on Wednesday and absolutely required my car to be gone. Roughly twenty minutes later, they called back to inform me they had contacted ten different drivers and only one was willing to pick up my vehicle. However, and this is where the absurdity reaches its apex, the driver had apparently already passed Albuquerque and would need to turn around, meaning I would now be expected to pay for his gasoline and inconvenience. My original quote of $1,425 had now ballooned into a staggering $2,800. At that moment, I politely informed them I would call back, hung up the telephone, and immediately began searching for an entirely different transport company. Time came and no pickup and no communication. No apology, no nothing. I hacd to rent a car while waiting for the May window of pick up because I didnt know what time they would come. Silence. That looks like a manipulation (fake advertisement) to get my attention at the start. 2) The communication about a higher quote was made right before the last pick up day, when there was almost no time to change schedule, which created more pressure on me. And it was done by a phone call, not by text or email (even more pressure: less time to think). 3) The booking of a driver with a broken truck looks like misinforming/scam to force me to pay a higher quote money. The driver has never responded my texts, he was not ready to perform the job (due to a broken truck). Such driver was not supposed to be booked at all. 4) The Nexus Auto Transport didn't inform me about driver's inability to pickup my car on time, until I reached them on last day and started asking direct questions. 5) The representative was manipulating me to convince me to let them search another driver, or pay a fee for cancelling what I didn't agree for. I agreed to book only particular driver on February 05, seeing ability to meet the schedule. But I never agreed to book other drivers of February 06, when their driver wasn't able to do the job (so I see no cancellation from my side, and I do not agree with their cancellation fee). 6) Even the final receipt from Nexus Auto Transport doesn't directly show a fee they charged and a reason for charging that fee, it just shows the refund amount which is $150 less than my payment. They explained the fee reason (cancellation) by phone and email, but never provided an itemized receipt, so I consider that $150 fee undocumented. The price they give u is not a price, it's a guess on what they might charge you, but they might up the price to whatever they want. If u expect to pay the price they give u, I would not recommend using Nexus. If u are open to whatever price they feel like giving u on the day the car is supposed to be shipped, go for it. It's quite upsetting when you have flights and arrangements made around getting your car delivered and on the last day u find out Nexus will not do what they committed to. read more

I would not recommend this company. Everything went well at first with setting up the dates to get our car transported - picking the car up - and the timeframe to go from west coast to east coast. When the car arrived to the destination, it was pouring raining so couldn't see much and the driver didn't do a check around when handing the car back to my husband. Once the rain had stopped 2-3 days later, my husband noticed a long scratches to the hood of our car that were NOT there before. It was clear that it was from the transport and that our vehicle was most likely placed at the bottom of the double decker. When contacting Nexus and their driving service - they claimed they couldn't do anything about it because it wasn't noted down the day of the dropoff. Well how would it have been noted if first, it was raining (wouldn't be visible) and second, the driver didn't even attempt to do a check through. On the agreed upon day, they called to say they had a driver and the price was now $450. I said I'd think on it and call them back. There is a lot of activity on my account. We should have something scheduled within the hour. Our carriers are very busy but we will get this done for you by the end of the day. On May 14th I received a call from Elliott telling me they had a carrier but he couldn't pick up my car till May 15th before 10:00am. I decided to go for it..and let them know that was acceptable. I was told there was one more thing, the cost was going to double from $900 to $1,800!!! They are liars. My daughter ended up having to drive the car back to St. Louis from Miami. I went to search for best auto transport companies on Google and found Nexus highly rated. It was easy to get a quote on line. Then the calls came immediately. Remember most all of these you find are "brokers" and not "carriers" therefore everyone gets paid on the volume of business they do with actual trucking companies. While I have shipped before, I understood this but relied on Forbes (a trusted name in business) who I think rated Nexus incorrectly. Anyway, I scheduled a pickup about a month from pickup as I had to have the car delivered on a specific date to have folks be able to be at the delivery point. I never heard a word from Nexus after I got the prefunctory emails. A week before pickup I was nervous and called Nexus. I got an assurance that my pickup was their top priority. Three days before pickup still no word and the same response when I called...don't worry I am thier "top priority." I explained again the urgency of get the pickup date correct to deliver on time. The first day of the pickup window again I called and got the same EXACT message, it must have been read from a script it was so close to the sample put off. I asked for a manager and they were not available. I spoke to one later and got the same assurance and since the first day was on a Sunday they would not have an answer until Monday. Monday came and so late Monday afternoon I called and got the same "you are our top priority" and so now I asked what happens if they don't pick up during the window. I was told not to worry they would have a carrier in time. Tuesday rolled around and the same anwser but this time the manager insisted they had a driver who was simply trying to get thier insurance coverage varified...not a good sign to me but I was now desperate. Tuesday the last day of pickup window and no driver. Wednesday was now outside the pickup window for a carrier to pickup my car in Idaho to deliver to Washington DC the upcoming delivery day of Friday or Saturday in DC. I called and tried to cancel and the customer service kept trying to sell me on they would pick it up. I insisted on cancelling as I was going to have to rearrange my whole trip to Washington DC and calleld Montway transport. Within 15 minutes I got a call back from a sales person at Nexus who insisted they had a driver available within 4 hours which would have made the pickup about 8pm. How on earth could the all of a sudden now have a driver within 4 hours. This was totally a broker trying to keep a customer without really servicing the customer. The proof is in the pudding...you know the best from how they handle adverse events because anyone can do the job when it is not hard. From my experiance of over 50 years in business this company dropped the ball repeatedly when the going got tough. Then, over the next 3 days, I get a series of ridiculous excuses such as- driver was in an accident, driver is sick, driver is in jail (yes, they actually said this) until finally they told me to just leave my $110,000 car with the keys in a parking lot and that eventually they'd pick it up. These guys are a disaster. I placed an order for transport from California to Virginia in the middle of July with a pickup window of Aug 14th - 18th. They were dead silent until I called on August 14th to ask when I could expect pickup. They said they were working with several drivers and would call back shortly. Nothing. I called again nearly every day and they always were friendly on the phone but never called back. They missed the last date of Aug 18th and now I have to arrange a different carrier to get the car to the east coast. They are a scam phone bank without serious relationships with carriers. I give five stars for Nexus service specifically because they did their Job they are supposed to do which is services of dispatching a driver that selects the job. Additionally they are the only company I could find that let me pay exact quoted price in full with my credit card and not have to pay a surprise amount in cash once a driver selects the job. The only thing I was not pleased with is it was not door to door service but that is the fault of the driver that took the job and not Nexus. I had to drive a half hour out of my way to meet the driver to drop off my car in another city and my son had to meet the driver at some other pick up spot when the car was delivered because they again did not deliver to the house. I was told there may be road restrictions but I know for a fact my pick up spot at my home did not have those restrictions because we have the same size trucks driving it often. read more
