During the trial class, my daughter (2.5 years) was participating and connecting with the teacher within the first few minutes. By contrast, she didn't participate much at the other studio even after multiple classes. And it's because the teachers at the dance network are so compassionate and engaging. We have since told friends and family to join us at the dance network! When you walk into the studio it has such a calm, home-like vibe and it's just completely unpretentious, which is hard to find around here. So glad we found this place!

Horrible, awful, uncomfortably long transitions, causing darkness in the whole house at one point for more than 35 seconds. I am embarrassed to say I know someone in the show. It will be a long time before I see the Ballet Theater San Luis Obispo. This performance was so poor, I have considered asking for a refund. Boo to the Director, Choreographer, Stage Manager for subjecting the players to such reticule. The theater SLO PAC was occupied less than 30%, perhaps was a warning sign. The performance was such a disaster we chose to leave at 1st intermission at 45 min mark.

While I never perused a professional career in ballet, Ms Terry taught me lessons of perseverance, hard work, commitment, and disciple that has carried into every aspect of my life. When I left for college in SF and I always loved returning for drop in classes during my school breaks. I've danced in studios in SF and NYC - I have yet to find teachers who are truly committed to your progress and providing professional level technique training for someone like me who just wants to dance without any intention of being professional. I recently moved back to SLO and returned to regular ballet classes and the studio as an adult. It's clear that Ms Terry's training from my youth still lives in my body and muscle memory (even if my body isn't what it used to be lol). Being able to dance and perform again (even despite the hurdles of Covid) has been a life saver to my mental and physical health. The people who dance here and support this small company (all different from when I was a kid) quickly became my community in and out of the studio. It has really helped me settle into SLO again. I'm forever grateful for this company, Ms Terry, and Blair for creating this space, gathering an amazing community, and giving me endless opportunities to follow my passions. I cannot recommend this studio and this company enough to anyone who is interested in ballet. It is a true gem that I've loved for over 18 years!

The vibe of dancing with a group, patient and engaging instruction. Even if she's ever had a bad day- she's never shown it in her class. I'm clumsy and very uncoordinated, yet she always compliments me and makes me feel like I'm improving. I enjoy exercising and lifting weights, and have minimal dance experience, belly dancing does not come naturally for me, so it find it challenging yet very rewarding. I like to think it kinda softens my rough edges :) For me, Alexandra's classes are something I do for myself. Something that I can do to get my head away from work, and away from the kids, and all the hustle and bustle of each day. It's fun, and enjoyable, and the music is pretty awesome too. My daughter has been dancing at the Classical School of Ballet for two years now. She has told me…read morethat it has been very enjoyable, and she has learned a lot of new ballet techniques there (as well as has made a lot of new friends). The teaching methods of Miss Angela are good - not too silly, but not too strict - and all of the girls seem enthusiastic every day the come in for lessons. Indeed, some of the children's parents also took lessons at the Classical School of Ballet when they were younger, so it's a very family-like environment. Miss Angela puts on large, impressive performances every other year, so that each year in between is focused purely on technique. All in all, it's a nice place to learn ballet.

Karen makes everything and anything fun. The kids feel so welcome and loved. My favorite times are all of the moments but especially spending time in senior living homes with the children. My Daughter attended a wonderful Summer Program with Art From The Heart, and we recently…read morecelebrated my Daughters 8th Birthday with a wonderful "Birthday Tea Party" which we booked through Karen Putnam. In 13 years of celebrating 3 children birthdays yearly, this was one of the best Birthday parties we have experienced. Karen planned out every detail to perfection, the house was inviting and decorated, the tea party room looked absolutely amazing! The table was laid out with pretty tea cups and saucers and fairy creamers and daisy teapots and dainty figurines. It was truly special. She even incorporated my daughters favorite color and theme into the party. The girls got to choose fancy hats and feathery boas, there was dancing and singing and celebrating, It was all so enchanting! Karen has a true gift for these little people, she was very skill full in keeping the focus on the Birthday Girl and truly celebrating my Daughters special day! I highly recommend Art from the Heart for your next Birthday Celebration!
