We played Fall 2018 and had a excellent experience with Coach Berry! We really enjoyed the setup of the games the kids are encouraged to have fun and learn the game. The games are on Friday evenings and a practice is usually once a week. A different food truck is available every week. NFL players have been known to stop by and practice with the kids. The league is co ed. The uniform and flags are included in the cost. If you sign up early in the season you can get an early bird discount. They usually have a professional photog taking pics of the kids. Overall lots of perks for a season. The field is well lit and the parents, and coaches are great! When I 1st signed my kids up two yrs ago I was upset my youngest did not get put w/ his buddy requests but after a quick call I was assured it was an oversight that happened with so much going on and it was fixed right away. Two years later and there is no better league! Any issue or concern is met with caring and understanding. We have met some great coaches and had the best time ever as we've watched our boys grow and develop as players in this league. This league is by far amazing ! I've coached for six years in other leagues and this beats them all . The support team , the site directors to the referees to the field set up and I almost forgot to mention playing under the lights on Friday night is a great experience for the kids and family! My son has been playing flag football for a couple years now and we've tried different leagues. NFL Flag has been the funnest of them all. Even my preschool daughter has gotten into it and plays on her own team now. The Friday Night lights (like HS football), the music, the crowds after a long work week and best of all, the amount of kids having fun out there while competing with some great athletes. This is our very first year with this league. My family had a not so great experience with another league so we decided to give this one a try. What a huge disappointment. The excitement about this NFL branded league quickly faded after the first game. I expected the league to be well organized and professional but it was not. Prior to the first game there was no communication from the coach. Then upon arrival we found out that the assigned coach was "turning over" the coaching duties to his family member, who quickly showed his lack of coaching experience. I understand that youth leagues have volunteer (and not paid) coaches since I have volunteered myself, but there needs to be some level of experience and competence. By the end of the season the kids were still unfortunately lacking fundamental skills like how to properly execute hand offs or even make a reception. After the first game and witnessing our coach muddle his way around I offered to help run some drills or practices. I even informed the coach that another parent had signed up to be the volunteer parent coach and that he was also very willing to help but all of this fell upon deaf ears. The coach politely smiled and said that he was open to suggestions but then over the next 6 games just kept doing things the same way. We left with the feeling that the coaching arrangement utilized the kids as a "learning or experimental" experience for this individual and it was not appreciated. The real NFL league has changed the way the pro and collegiate game is played and officiated to help promote player safety. That mantra apparently did not trickle down to this youth league. On the surface they seemed quite concerned by requiring you to buy/rent helmets. However, the officials apparently were not trained or educated about safety. Flag football is a minimal contact game and every league has a rule book detailing unacceptable contact to protect the kids. However, when another team's player, who was a good 20 - 30lb heavier than any other player on the field, did not make any attempt to not "run through a defender" and mowed over a couple of our kids I immediately pointed this out to the official and he responded "we don't call that".....uh what?! Then in another game a player was pushed with two hands and was sent flying out of bounds. Once again, another ref just watched it without even batting an eye and of course did not call a penalty The play was so egregiously unsafe that the the opposing coach called the penalty on his own player, whereas the ref did not! NOT ACCEPTABLE. These refs need to read the rule books and the league needs to do a better job of educating and reinforcing the importance of player safety. read more

Wow. Just wow. This league has delivered and more. My husband was already excited because he's seen this league down in San Diego and how big they got. Then when he heard it was expanding up here, all I heard was "it's so much fun, NFL players this and that, it's gonna be awesome...etc" and I hate saying this but he's right. Friday night frees up your weekend and on top of that, it's great to finish work on a Friday and start your weekend with your kids with music out there and some football games! Not to mention this last weekend they had the Oakland Raiders send 9 players to sign autographs, take pictures and actually help coach the games! On top of that a food truck swung by - dinner done! All I can say is if you want that amazing Friday night vibe check this league out! read more

This was our first experience with flag football and with the NFL Silicon Valley league. I was impressed with the staff's efforts to create balanced teams through assessment and keep team rosters small so each player gets maximum attention and playing time. Friday night games were fun and festive with lights, pumping music, and even food trucks! Refs are fair and professional while the coaches are positive and encouraging. My boys felt like "official" players with their cool team jerseys and helmets and had a blast playing the sport. The staff responded to issues in a timely manner and was fantastic in keeping the parents apprised/updated of what was going on. Congrats to the league on an awesome inaugural season! We just finished our 2nd season with NFL Flag Silicon Valley and we are excited to sign up again. In all honesty this league is by far the most competitive one compared to the rest in the South Bay Area location. Not only is there a lot of great young athletes but also great coaching as well in my opinion. The Friday night games fits well into our busy schedule especially when we have other sporting events to tend to over the weekend. Safety is number 1 for this league and helmets are provided to each player. There's bright lights, music and food trucks on game days. John Mise Park has an awesome turf field where all the games are played on. We made a lot of new friends here and it's a great atmosphere to be in. read more

Our kids have been playing flag football for years with various other organizations and this league is hands down the best one by miles: very well organized and friendly folks who go above and beyond to help. The premier NFL Flag league in San Diego/Inland Valley is now in the Bay Area! This league is professional, well run and all about the youth. They provide a platform and opportunity for the youth to learn teamwork, sportsmanship, camaraderie, hard work and the game of football. It's a fun and safe environment! They make it an incredible experience with Friday night games...music, food and fun. I have been involved as a Coach/mentor with NFL Flag San Diego for 4+ years and it has been an awesome experience not only in league play but tournaments as well. Both my boys are new to this league. Compared to other leagues we have been in, this one is more organized, has experienced referees, and really gets the kids into the spirit of the sport.
