What a shame. There is much to be said about how people treat and respect others. Darnell Sanders, owner of NFL Tree Service, came to my home to give me an estimate on the trimming of three trees. I also asked for an estimate on removal of those trees for cost comparison. I was connected to his company through First Energy's Tree Service. I have been getting estimates from others, which is standard and good practice. So, everything starting going south when I told him what I wanted and started asking him questions. He was very rude and condescending, telling me at one point that "I've been doing this for fifteen years; of course you wouldn't understand," when I asked him why it was easier to remove a tree rather than trim it. Really? Very disrespectful and unprofessional conduct. To dismiss a potential customer in that manner was completely uncalled for behavior. But it gets worst. When I told him I wouldn't remove a tree if there was nothing wrong with it in the course of the conversation, he took out his phone and said, "Let me read the estimate to you." I told him, "I don't need you to read the estimate to me. I'm the one who asked for it." He then said, "I'm not interested. Okay?" And walked away from me. I said, "Okay. You have a great day." He then accused me of "fighting with him." What?! I asked him a question as any intelligent consumer should do when she is about to spend thousands of dollars. I said to him, "No one's fighting with you. I can't ask you a question?" I told him I asked for a comparison (between the cost of trimming vs. removal), and he said, "I gave it to you. I was just doing what I was asked to do." No, Mr. Sanders, you were just being disrespectful, rude, and condescending. That you think you can talk to people in that manner and treat them in that way and still get business is very interesting. Until you learn how to treat people, no one should do business with you. See, I did not know who you were, and you did not know who I was. But that did not change the way I treated you. Every person I encounter, I treat with respect. I don't tell them what they don't know and how much I do, even if it's true. What purpose does that serve except to prop myself up and put them down? That's who you are, and your actions today betrayed you. After you walked off and got in your car, you called me to tell me a tip about the oak tree. You wanted to tell me something after the fact that you could have said to me in my backyard, except you were being too nasty to do so. I told you how rude and unprofessional you were directly. So, you are aware of my feelings about this matter. But it is equally important that others know about your conduct if they value respect, dignity, and professionalism--none of which you showed. Had you taken a closer look, you would have recognized the importance of these values to me. But I guess you know that now. To those who embrace their humanity, never spend your money where you are not treated with respect. read more

Worse experience ever!! Paid $200 deposit (broke my own rules but hey it was Darnell Sanders) to continually get bumped to the end of the line. They finally finished the job (2 months later) after I had to make repeated calls to their office where I was advised that their treatment of me was justified because of the sheer amount of work they had. Was also told by their workers that customers were allowed to 'pay extra' to be bumped to the front of the line!! Upon showing up they cut down the wrong tree!!! Told me that stumps would be grinded 2-3 days later...try 2 weeks later!!! Once again couldn't get 'on their schedule' until I called them!!! And despite all of this atrocious service you think I would receive a discount for bad service? Nope they wanted prompt payment for this hack job upon completion. Run as far away as you can from this company!!! Save your sanity and DO NOT USE!! read more

Had a great experience with NFL. 70 ft tree hanging over 2 garages and my house. They couldn't get anything big into my backyard. So they did it by climbing and cutting by hand. Two days and went out of their way to do extra. Really great guys to talk to and hard workers. Thanks read more

I hate leaving a negative review, however I have tried for months to get assistance from the owner Darnell. This was a great company several years ago when I first had them cut down a tree. The crew they sent was A1. This time, I was told by Darnell that the price was higher because they would be need to be "very cautious" when cutting down the 2 trees. I finally agreed to the price and was told they would be here on Tuesday. On Monday morning the crew shows up without notice to cut down the trees. I had to take an emergency day off of work since this wasn't the day I was told they were coming. Their chipper broke down so they asked me to drive them to an auto zone to buy a fuse. They finished the job, collected the check and left. When I went outside to look over the job, I discovered that they had damaged several arborvitae. I reached out to Darnell thru his answering service. He had no problem cashing my check for the tree removal, but would not respond to my multiple phone messages about my damaged trees. I remembered that I had his cell phone number and tried texting him. Long story, but he agreed to replace the damaged arborvitae. After many more messages and no replacement trees, I asked for him to mail a check to me, which he agreed to. It has now been several weeks and there has been no check mailed for the damaged trees. Accidents can happen but it is ironic to me that he told me the price was higher so they would be more cautious. It's also disapppointing that the crew left without notifying me of the damage they caused. On top of it, there were several branches left behind that I had to dispose of myself. I definitely wouldn't recommend this company as I consider it a risky. If you are willing to risk them doing a good job, take the chance.....unfortunately I learned the hard way that they couldn't be trusted to do a good job. read more

Darnell and his crew were excellent. I could not be happier with the result. They arrived for the job on time to remove a 30 foot tree from my yard. The tree was removed without ruining any of the surrounding plants and there was absolutely no mess left behind. I would not hesitate to recommend them and would definitely use them again if the need arises. read more

I reported them to bbb and mike dewine. Darnell has never responded. Cut driveway 2 feet short of garage. looks ridiculus. Shotty work. Poured concrete uneven, garage floods every time it rains, worked without permits, damaged my yard plus neighbors yard on both sides. garage screws coming out, foundation uneven, put cut down trees in neighbors yard instead of mine, His employess nick and milton agree with me 100% and agreed Darnell Sanders ripped me off. City of North Royalton agrees and suggest I sue for all my damages. read more

I used NFL landscaping for a house that was newly bought and in need of an updated/fresh look. Throughout the process they were always on time, thorough, easy to reach and attentive to what I wanted. They provided me with timely quotes and estimates to when the job would start and be completed.
