A: The phone call to reschedule the appointment took about 45 minutes, which honestly was the least efficient part of the process. This could definitely be improved. Q: Was parking difficult? A: Not at all. Parking was easy and convenient when I arrived. Q: Did they take walk-ins? A: Yes. The security guard asked whether I had an appointment or was a walk-in. When I arrived around 10:30 a.m. on a Friday, there was only one person waiting for walk-in services. By the time I left, there were about seven people waiting, so it definitely became busier closer to 11:30 a.m. I don't know the wait time for walk-ins, though. TIP: The first seatingrow closest to the kiosk is the waiting row/line for walk-ins Q: Were you seen on time? A: Yes, actually earlier than my appointment time because I arrived early. That was impressive. Q: What was the office environment like? A: The office was clean, organized, and calm. Even the bathrooms were clean. Q: How was the staff? A: Excellent. The security guard was firm but personable and maintained order without making the environment uncomfortable. A: I was submitting documentation related to conservatorship and was also able to get a copy of a benefits verification letter during the same visit. TIP: be clear on your appointment description because that will determine how much you can get done in one appointment. Q: How long did the actual appointment take? A: About 30 minutes total, and it moved quickly because I brought all the required documentation with me. Q: Was check-in easy? A: Yes. There is a self check-in kiosk, and you may also receive a QR code by text. I used the kiosk without any issues. Just make sure you have your Social Security number available. Overall, I would recommend this location. I need an appointment in San Diego within 2 weeks and this was the only location that was available The actual in-office process was efficient, organized, and much smoother than expected. My biggest recommendation would be: bring all your documents and mid morning appointments may be best. A day before I received a text reminding me of my appointment. When I arrived to the Social Security office I checked in using my mobile phone from the text I received to check in. Then they text me my ticket number. Once my ticket number was called I received another text with the window number to go to. The guy at the window was super friendly saw my documents and told me I should receive my new card in 2 weeks. He also informed me that after 24 hours their system will be updated with my new name and I could go to the DMV to process my new Driver License with my updated name. The entire process took 15 min. It was super fast and I love how easy they have made it with the update text messages.

I drove to the location, spent $6 on parking and waited almost 3 hours, just to have someone tell me to come back in 3 weeks of which I now have missed and don't know the best way to start this whole process over again. You receive a number and are asked to be seated based on whether you have an appointment or not. There is a bathroom, which was clean. The air in the waiting room was nice (not stuffy or hot). When your number is called, you go to a window to be helped. Please be patient as there are only a few people taking care of many and the time slots are limited. There were a couple of people inside the lobby among the rows of seats towards the right when entering. The information TV screens and kiosk were to the left. Office SSA reps worked behind glass and each space provided two chairs with partitions separating customers for semi-privacy. We spent less than 5 minutes in the lobby after checking in online from the parking lot. Our SSA rep was friendly and helpful, answering questions and providing reasonable expectations of next steps after concluding the appointment in roughly 30 minutes to resolve why we needed to stop by in person. If you have an online account. I'd highly recommend taking that route, but if you must go the SSA office, be ready to endure the steps for making an appointment and be prepared with all necessary documents.

She explained to me why I can't manage an account via internet to turn in a paperwork. Paperwork that needs to be turned in can be dropped off inside the office. The office has a drop off box by the wall. If you messed up the paperwork, it's better to make an appointment with them and explain what happened. They will gladly help. Always bring an ID with you as well.
