This place has been around for a very long time. It has greatly expanded over the decades and is now a very large high end produce and deli market with a large greenhouse complex as well. Along with the increased overhead came increased prices so I no longer come here to get bargains like I once did. But I do come here to get a large variety of produce and deli food, always fresh. They do occasionally run specials, which is nice when it happens, but the reason to come to Niagara County produce is for the variety and the freshness. read more

The store is always clean and well stocked. There are things sold here that you cannot find elsewhere. Personnel are personable and friendly. I've been coming here since the early 70s. Great produce and a nice deli. It's been fun watching them evolve and grow into the beautiful store they have today. Came in for the good deals on autumn fruits and vegetables. They advertised a sale in both the circular and the meat counter. When I went for it, everything was priced 20 cents more a pound. I waited at the meat counter and asked for the sale items. Obviously annoyed, the clerk said she had to get more but needed to wait on everyone else first. I patiently waited and then she bought out more that was all mis priced. I pointed it out and she huffed and turned around without saying anything. She finally returned, gave me the item and then mixed the others in with everything else that was still mis priced. Good sale but make sure you're getting it! She knew the other items were wrong as I told her. Some people weren't made for customer service. Everyone else was great! read more

Never quite sure why Niagara County Produce rates so many stars. Reviewing for plants/ garden items. Yes, you may find some variety and selection here. However, that is often countered by the fact that the selection will not be neatly arranged, but might be mixed up between various other item you weren't looking for. If you like to hunt for plants, this might please you. Secondly, plants are not well-cared for. After all - you'll get a good price but some plants will be totally dry and others will be soaked. Are all the plants name-brands? Nope. But they are cheaper than your fave nursery. You will find pleasing items and drop cash. The problem might be finding a cart. The young workers were too gabby to bring in carts. I even asked where they kept them - "oh, there around" as they went back to chatting. Nope - carts were all in the parking lot or being used. Does anyone want to actually work? Considering the longer drive and the cart hassle, I'd prefer name brand plants and a closer nursery. read more

Still can get tight around deli and not be able to grab a pre-packaged lunchmeat and cheese easily but people are kind enough to let you by. I've been doing my primary shopping with both locations for almost a year now. While I still experience a decent portion of their produce can last only 2-3 days after buying before going bad, some produce lasts up to a week. Overall you can't beat their prices and the staff have always been friendly. They have insane deals on their discount table (lunar bars, granola bars going for 1/3 the price) & their meat department definitely has fresher tastes, especially the local made sausages and chicken. read more

My last visit to Niagara Market during Covid 19 conditions was to pick of veggie plants to start my summer garden. The garden center selection was still pretty empty but there was enough of a choice to get what I wanted. These included various tomatoes, lettuces, peppers, onion bulbs, and bean seeds (only thing I have any luck growing from seed). Everyone was wearing masks and the checkout counter was blocked with plexiglass to keep everyone protected. Simple process. My normal stops here include a visit into the store to buy produce and items at the deli counter. They usually have decent prices in those departments along with great sales. I find their other grocery items a bit higher priced and there mostly for the convenience. Great place to shop. read more

I've been here three times. It's an interesting place, definitely have a lot of local fresh fruits and vegetables. That's fantastic. They also carry a lot of local bakery and other type of products. I was surprised by the size of this store. It seems to have a little bit of everything: garden plants, fresh produce, snacks, dairy products, meats, a take out counter. I thought the prices for the produce, dairy, meats, and other items I would normally buy in a grocery store, were a little bit higher than my regular grocery store. While a pretty good selection of products, this store does not have the selection of a regular grocery store. I did not look at the garden plants. When I was there, it was quite busy, so I think the location makes it more convenient for many of their customers, more convenient than getting to a larger area grocery store. read more

Stopped in before Thanksgiving to pick up a few items for my dinner and loved the atmosphere. The produce section of the store is phenomenal ! I also purchased a few items from the meat counter. This place is difficult to just walk in and out of. You find yourself looking around for something else to buy. There is so much to see, the food is fresh and the staff is very nice and helpful. There is an area to get prepared foods. A place to sit and enjoy indoor if you decide to take a little break. Sandwiiches, soups and whatever else you can imagine. As well as a little convient store setting. As you go a bit deeper inn and along the outside you can select beautiful plants and flowers. Holiday decor and anything else you can imagine. Just stopped in again this week (it's becoming a nearly weekly event for me!) and once again they had a fabulous selection of houseplants, and some perennials and baskets left as well. There was a decent selection of annuals too. The houseplants are so well priced. I know that some of the other greenhouses get the same shipments as Niagara Produce and I have seen several times the price comparison and you cannot beat the prices at NP. Some if their competitors sell the same exact plants for nearly double the price (I get it because of their size scale but it doesn't mean I have to pay the high price!). I love Niagara Produce and am so excited that they are building another location on Transit in Lancaster (only 10 minutes from my house)! Since I don't travel to Lockport very often, I only go to Niagara Produce every few months. I typically buy produce, cheese and some of their bulk snacks (love their blueberry yogurt covered pretzels). They have pretty good prices on certain items too. I see a lot of people buying meat and deli items but I haven't really tried any of those yet. I plan on being a regular at the Lancaster location! read more

We go to Niagara Market about every couple of weeks to stock up on things like olives from the deli. This trip we went in just for olives and left with a basket full of everything from red bell peppers to beer. They even still had blueberries for a reasonable price. This is probably one of the best places in the area to get fresh produce. It's located down on Transit (it's a little tucked away) and easily accessible from the main road. They have a meat section, baked goods section, produce section, a green house, and a small cafe. In my opinion, their meat and produce is MUCH fresher than Wegmans. If you look at the meat section, everything is saran wrapped (as opposed to vacuum-sealed like Wegmans) and the color of the meat is very vibrant. They also have packaged ready-to-cook meats that are good (i.e. the panko pork cutlets). The prices of produce is definitely cheaper than Wegmans as well. For example, a pound of Gala apples might be $1.99 or above at Wegmans, but here it's $1.69 or lower. They have HUGE Asian pears here, which made me SUPER excited because these are hard to find in any other grocery store. One of the items that are worth trying is the pasta. They have different kinds of pasta (spinach, squid, red hot pepper, etc.) and they've always been tasty. Stay way from the sausages though... I bought the state fair sausage links they make and it smelled a little funky when I cooked them (so I ended up tossing them). Other than produce, they have a nice selection of greeting cards that are $1.49 each too. They're pretty nice! :) read more

The building and grounds are a huge improvement over what was previously Niagara County Produce. The customer service however hasn't changed. After several visits, it's been the same. I go for the greenhouse items. Just try to ask an employee for help or advice, and you'll likely get either indifference or snapped at, either I dunno or I'm busy, don't bother me. Us pesky customers. The cashiers are often young women with cheery attitudes, so checking out is pleasant. The place is spacious, clean and well organized. Just don't ask anybody for help or advice - - button your lip, get what you need and leave. There's a nice newish faux road that winds around the north side to give you access to a side road and then a stoplight to safely cross Transit Road now. read more

An update about the exit: the Erie County Tonawanda Creek Road is still closed and may never open again, given the pace of progress (or lack of it). However, there is now a traffic light at Transit and Tonawanda Creek Road (Erie County), So you can take the side exit, make a left toward Transit Road, and use the light to turn either way onto Transit Road. No more need for aircraft carrier take-offs into traffic directly from the store parking lot. And yet people still do it, putting their lives into jeopardy. An update about food: since April the store has carried Krispey Kreme donuts. You may know that Buffalo once had several Krispey Kreme donut shops, but they are all gone, with the nearest one being in Erie, PA. You can satisfy your craving at Niagara Produce. Be aware, however that these are the packages made for grocery stores and are nowhere near as fresh as the ones from a donut shop. Sometimes the frosting is a bit weepy. So it is not the same as getting a hot one from the fryer. But if you need one and have no plans to be near a shop, this will fill the void. read more

Nice little neighborhood market. Great place to pick up some fresh fruit and vegetables. They also have hanging baskets of flowers, and other small plants. They have a full service deli, and a small freezer section with frozen pies and frozen homemade perogies They weigh all of the veggies at the checkout counters, so you don't have to remember codes like at the larger chain stores. You can do most of your shopping here, but definitely not all. They don't carry much in the way of packaged goods like cereals, condiments, etc. I love that they sell 1/4 watermelons, since it is tough to finish one by myself. The dairy section contains some interesting flavored cheeses like strawberry champagne and pepperoncini, though I've never actually tried them. The real reason that people come here is for the produce (not surprisingly). It's just a little bit fresher than the supermarkets, and just a little bit cheaper. It is like a cross between supermarket and a roadside vegetable stand. They do take credit cards. Your receipt is just a list of assorted charges, so you can't really be sure that you are being charged the correct prices, as every item is listed as either "produce" or "deli," but when the total charge for a cart full of goodies is less than $20, it's hard to complain. Most of the cashiers are high school aged girls. I rarely see adults working here, except in the deli area. This leaves me questioning, who is in charge here??? But, I have to say that everyone is well trained, so thankfully I've never had to ask to see a manager. Kinda makes me want to ask though, just to see what they'd say... read more

Terrible! My mother has been taking me here for years, so long that I knew where the place was, what they had and what I liked but not their name. It was like coming out to a country market within easy reach of the city, everything felt real and from the farm. Now this is the Redneck Traders Joe 's. I don't come here often, it was usually a special trip so one day while geocaching in the area I noticed the new green houses going up in back and thought "oh great, they are expanding their gardening " and then a few months passed and i went by again and BAM, POW, POP.... a new building. Today was the first time I've been there since. NCP may have a fancy waterfall, new black top parking lot and fancy new building but they've lost their small shop feel. NCP continues to carry the products they have. The fruit is still in big bins, they still have their small shop filled with assorted seasonal goods and they still have their assorted canned goods. They've added fresh seafood, beer and wine, expanded their frozen foods and with that they've added to their prices. I find it disappointing and I am fine with their need to grow but they've lost their magic. The things i always thought i could only find there was maybe just because it was easy to find. Niagara County Produce is setup like your corner market, not too many large brand names but products you know and trust, not a wide of variety of brands but just enough to get you by. With their prices going up and the disappointment of the experience I cant see myself going there unless i absolutely had to. read more

I cannot say enough about how amazing this store is! Fresh produce year round, local made chocolates, fresh meats, and Boars Head lunch meat can all be found here. I love that the store is small and easily walkable. There is also pet food, bird houses, and some dry goods. The location I go to has a green house as well. Each item has a price tag on it, there are no difficult digital tags to look at. I highly recommend Niagara Produce. The place is very clean and the staff helpful and friendly. read more

They also have a cute to go station where you can pick up pre made food for lunch or dinner. They also carry my favorite chocolate Aero Bars! I really feel like they should change the name of this place because "produce" is only the tip of the iceberg! Of course, they've been around a long time & that's what the locals know them as! If you've driven by in the past year or so, you probably noticed the major upgrades to the property. If you haven't stopped in since then, you're really missing out! They added a great restaurant that probably deserves a Yelp review of its own. The store: Laid out very nicely with a beautiful meats section. This is the place to come for sausage. We make gumbo a lot in the winter months, and they sell some perfect gumbo sausage! You can pick up all kinds of deli meats, a rotisserie chicken, you name it! They've got chips, crackers, canned stuff, convenience foods. There's a walk-in beer cave if you're looking for supplies for the game or tailgating. Microbreweries & the big names. You want local chocolates? Ok. Sponge candy. Candy bars, etc. We picked up some sponge candy for Christmas gifts - dark, milk, orange, and peanut butter. There's a section for your gardening & bird supplies, then the big greenhouse. Of course, the great produce, which often times is cut up for you to try a sample. Everything is do fresh & beautiful. It really is a great place to get your fruits and vegetables! I love the way they have the checkout arranged. Everyone stands in the same line instead of choosing a register. When a cashier opens, it's next in line. The prices are a little higher on some things, but I expect that from a smaller retailer. The produce isn't any higher, nor are the meats, but the convenience foods are a few cents higher than some places. Worth it though, in my opinion, for easier parking, smaller crowds, and a faster checkout process! The restaurant: This place is amazing. Stop in and grab lunch. Eat it there or take it to go, or grab dinner on the way home. I think the hours are 11-7. The food is delicious, fresh, and no more expensive than anywhere else. If you're eating in, tip for you -- grab your drink before your food or you'll have to get out of line to get it. I do wish they'd streamline that or find some other method to get the drinks. I've had a cheeseburger, a beef on weck, a turkey sandwich, and a harvest chicken salad sandwich. All have been amazing! The hot foods look delicious. I can't wait to try the goulash! Niagara Produce is amazing, for a couple of reasons. First, let's talk price - cheaper on a number of items, including broccoli, cauliflower and squash, than you would find at TOPS. Check out the amazing deal on shelled walnuts too, you simply will not find a better deal on that product anywhere (believe me, I have tried). Secondly - the selection and variety of local produce is amazing, from apples and pears to onions and sweet potatoes. Local usually means fresh (not always, but usually) and the staff keep the bins full during the busy autumn season. Plenty of free parking and a huge indoor/outdoor seasonal area for plants and things like pumpkins. They also sell interesting home decor. This place has been around since I was a kid. My dad is always telling me how we used to go here blah blah blah before I could even walk blah blah and pick out a Jack-O-Lantern for Halloween, and I'm 39...so you know it's old. Blah. It also looks like they haven't put a lot of work into the place in the last 39 years, if you know what I mean.... But, aesthetics aside, this place is GREAT for fresh produce and meats. I go here a lot for the fresh mozzarella balls at $4.99 a pound (Wegman's charges $6.99/pound) and sliced roast beef at $5.00/pound. You can sometimes get a pineapple for 2 bucks, and a pint of baby grape tomatoes for 99 cents. I also LOVE their little teensey-weensey baby carrots that are just the right size (smaller and thinner than my pinky finger) but I have to knock them down to four stars because I can't handle the enormous ten pound bag of them (for only $5.99). I wish they would sell them in smaller sizes. I can't eat the fat, chunky baby carrots sold in a reasonable-size bag, and I can't stand to throw carrots away....so there's a conundrum there. They also have a dairy section, an assortment of chips and dips, some ice cream, pies (PIES), maple syrup, sponge candy, soda, etc. etc. etc. I used to buy flower and veggie plants here too, but I have come to the conclusion that I am not nature girl and things die when I plant them so I've given that up for now. Reasons I love Niagara Produce. - The produce. (Sure you saw that one coming.) The produce is fresh and good quality. I've found it to be reasonably priced. - Kettle corn. Big bags of it. Pop-n-Bob's Old Fashioned Kettle corn to be exact. I never go in there for it, but always leave with a bag of it. - Gondola's pasta products. Local brand based on Niagara St. in Buffalo. They sell tortellini and ravoli, among others. Tortellini are my favorite. - Meat selection - Platters chocolate...lots of it! Warning: bag of sponge candy is pricey. - Huge selection of dog food/raw hide/etc. - Bag of Poppy's Pierogi for $1.00! I read some other reviews that stated that the prices were high. I agree to some extent, but not fully. Yes, some prices are high for certain items, but overall this is a pretty affordable place. I don't do 100% of my weekly shopping here. In my opinion this is a place you can pick up some speciality items and good quality meat and produce at reasonable prices. If you want a variety of coffee creamers or spreadable butter, this is not the place to go. The best advice I can give is go check it out and see what you discover! read more

I bought a 5 lb. bag of Canadian grown carrots that are the size of English cucumbers for $1.99. Though I'm entertained by the size of these monsters, I know that's kind of freaky too. I recently read something that said that the canned soup industry grows carrots the size and strength of baseball bats because of the rigorous canning process for soup. Anything weaker and the carrots would be pulverized in the process. Yikes. But still, these giant carrots are a trip. They have almost everything here in terms of typical American produce. Lots of herbs, lettuces, other greens. Fruit galore as well. I'm looking forward to seeing what plant-based goodies spring and summer bring to this store. They have a decent selection of items in the freezer section. Tons of unique items. I found these frozen battered fish planks I used to buy at Latina's like 10 years ago and haven't found since. Yum! Cold cuts, cold salads, olive bar, salad bar, even a hot/prepared foods area. All looked good. I bought some dry pasta here. They had a pretty unique selection of shapes. But their selection of non-perishable dry goods is small and pricey. They even had a dog and cat aisle. I bought my dogs a big bag of gnarly looking pig ears. Similar bag would sell for $20-ish anywhere else and was only $11.99 here, made in the USA. Not too shabby. Anyway, I love this place, and that it's only about a 10-minute drive from home (it's technically considered to be in East Amherst/Clarence, after all). I will regularly buy produce, meat, and occasionally some dry goods here too. The prices are really great! Scope it out. P.S. I still stand by what my college professor said about Niagara grown produce, but I also believe in being a savvy consumer and doing my own research too. read more
