My husband and I did the corks and cuisine full day tour. We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel which was so convenient and in a very comfortable van. Our guide Mike was awesome and provide us with interesting information and was just so engaging the entire day. We went to a chocolate factory tour first where we couldn't resist buying some fresh chocolate- thanks to Debbie at CF Niagara. We then went to 3 different wineries which were lovely and very interesting hearing about the wineries and their owners and history. Lunch was included at Zees Grill which was in Niagara in the Lake. Lunch was very good and we had a little time to take a walk before moving onto more wineries. Overall great day and would highly recommend! read more

I will never trust a Niagara-on-the Lake Tour company again. I booked with Niagara Vintage Wine Tours on the 9th of September. For next week Saturday September 28th. I had to cancel within 7 days to get a refund or reschedule. instead I got an email stating that they in fact closed down on the 12th of September right after I booked. This is very disingenuous and concerning. The phones are disconnected and no one is responding to any of my emails. If this is the way that the Niagara region wine tour operators operate. Then The Niagara region wine tour operators CAN NOT BE TRUSTED! As what this tour company is doing is theft of services and if they can get away with it they all can get away with it. We had a fabulous time time with Jeremy as our host. He was a wealth of information and enthusiasm. He picked us up on time at our rental and provided many local details on our way. We started off at a chocolate factory, followed by a winery and then a delicious lunch. We visited 2 more wineries in the afternoon. This is a must do excursion! We had a fabulous time with Phil our tour guide. We could not have asked for a better guide and highly recommend asking for him by name when you book. He was very knowledgeable on wine making and had a wonderful insight to share. He was patient and answered all our questions as he took us to Hinterbrook, Rambler-Run-Palatine Hills, Piliterri, and Pondview. Each vineyard had their own personality and style. We even had time to visit the Gretsky whisky distillery for a tasting. Yum.. The only critique I would say was to vary up the lunch restaurant. The Hob Nob at Charles Inn was good but a bit uppity for my tastes. Some thoughts: Change the light jazz music during lunch time. Too dull. Giving a broader choice for lunch menu would have been appreciated even if had an additional charge. We took a tour in November 2020 so during covid and they did a fantastic job. Everything was cleaned and operated smooth as silk. Chris, our driver was knowledgeable and great. We visited Nomad, Between the Lines and Pillitteri wineries. Nomad and between the lines were boutique and amazing experiences. The "charcuterie" was a let down as it was literally a tiny helping of cheese and two slices of meat and some cranberries. We at least needed some crackers or bread to soak up some alcohol as we weren't allowed to bring anything. Also, the Pillitteri winery was not good at all: walked in the front to have two 20 somethings argue about "who had to take this group", then the guy rushed around the tour, then poured a few glasses of awful wine and barely wanted to explain them while he swung his lanyard keys chain around waiting for us to leave. Overall I recommend. The tour if you are new to wine tours. Stay in Niagara on the lake: it's worth the extra money as Niagara Falls has crappy shopping or touring, other than the falls of course. read more

What an experience this was! It was my first time doing something like this, and for me it is quite a splurge, but I must say it is worth every penny. My boyfriend and I booked the epic culinary wine/beer tour. It's a day long tour (approximately 8 hours) and we went to 4 wineries and 1 brewery around the Niagara Falls and Niagara on the Lake region. They pick you up at your hotel/bnb as long as it's on their list. Check their list or call the tour office before booking your lodging just to make sure they pick up at that location. Our tour guide/driver was Gus and we had a total of 10 people on our tour. Gus was very knowledgeable and honest about the wines. He won't let you buy a bad bottle of wine. He knows how the grapes are grown, how the wine was made and is an amateur wine maker himself. Every winery we visited we were taken through each tasting by experts, some times owners of the wineries which was a plus because they definitely know what they're talking about. The foodie tour includes wine tasting as well as food pairings that compliment the wine/beer. You won't be hungry on this tour, but bring water because it is not provided, though the wineries usually do have water on hand anyway. I won't go into the specifics of each winery we went to because it does vary each time you book but my favorite of the wineries is Pond View, which seems to be a staple destination for each of their tours. Pondview offered us a wide variety of wines and each wine was paired with a different type of charcuterie/cheese. The most interesting and my favorite wine was the ice wine! It's a sweet tasting wine that's like a combo of liquor and honey. It was great when paired with the blue cheese offered at Pondview. And I got it as a shot in a chocolate shot glass ($5 extra). At each winery you're able to purchase any wines you may have liked. I of course would recommend the ice wine because it is definitely unique and make great gifts! Your tour guide has a box in the trunk of the van so you won't have to carry anything around. Each winery is totally different than the last, so you won't have any repetitive experiences. And for the foodie tour, you get a LOT of food! Some tips for your trip. Wear layers, we went in August and it was quite chilly. You can leave your jacket in the car if you don't need it. Wear comfortable shoes, you will be walking and be out and about with the grapes. Bring some cash to tip your tour guide (Canadian if you can but they accept American dollars too). Eat a good breakfast because you will get tipsy. Don't buy too much at the first winery because you have other wineries to visit! This was such a wonderful way to spend a day and I would definitely do this again in a heartbeat! read more

We picked this tour based on the great review score on Tripadvisor- all true. +Andrea our tour director picked us up promptly as advised at the Old Stone Inn in Niagara Falls. The tour was great and would highly recommend it. We did the half day tour which visited 3 wineries. It started at 11 and we were back at our hotel by 4:15. Our guide Harvey was amazing. A wealth of information, very personal and great sense of humour. Ask him about his bike riding adventures and you will be shocked. The wineries were good for the most part. I won't name the ones we liked more but some definitely take their wine and the tasting experience more seriously than others. You can tell which ones still have the passion for wine and which ones are just about making money. The only suggestion I have is to provide the option to buy food during the tour. One winery provided a light snack but that was the first one we visited. By 4 pm we were buzzing and starving and would have liked a small bite even it if was a simple boxed sandwich. Note: Getting picked up at the Marriott meant that we were the first ones to get picked up and the last to get dropped off which makes for a slightly longer day. read more

We had a group of 10 woman (high school friend's) , a yearly get together but the first wine tour as a group. The bus that picked us up was A plus. The first place we went to was Between the Lines, I was disappointed because we were taken into a side room that was unsightly and cold to experience our wine tasting. My boyfriend and I went on an all day wine tour with Chris. He was a wealth of knowledge in all aspects, from weather to sizes of vineyards but also made sure to condescendingly include English measurements for us "US folk" (look guy I'm just here for wine) At first I thought he was joking, but it didn't stop there, his political views were prominent while making snide remarks agains the US, telling us about the fort the French burned along w/ our White House, during the war of 1812. Commentary went on about our unrefined palate b/c of our taste in wine, disapproval of: hunting, US energy practices, consumption of processed food, and even Mexican labor! (I'll be sure to pass on the critique to POTUS.) He made the experience *very* uncomfortable and serious which is a pity because the tour ($115 per person) should have been enjoyable and easy going. read more

Researching Niagara's wine tours to find a company that does it really well with knowledgeable guides that cater to someone what wants to understand more even if they've done this sort of thing a few times before (I'm a big Napa/Silverado Trail/Russian River Valley fan and wanted something to that level). This tour company exploded on Trip Advisor with 88 almost all save a couple super positive reviews. They promised sommelier or near it guides and had a variety of tours. We booked two, the Evening Winery Tour and Dinner and the Jordan, Vineland and Beamsville. Because we went in May on a Sunday and Tuesday, respectively it's of course, a bit off season which was both great and slightly disaapointing. For the first day, we essentially had a private tour with Austin, a fantastic guide who's worked and still works in the industry, driving us around in a slick Chevy Suburban almost secret service style getting us in to the VIP tasting rooms. For the second booked tour, the other people signed up hadn't selected the unique area I mentioned so it was more of the Niagara-on-the-Lake wineries but they made an effort to not repeat the wineries except for one which we had a totally different experience with. The guides are more knowledgeable than all but the senior staff at the wineries and a lot of fun with their explanations and humor. They were very accommodating with requests like stopping for coffee for example. The included dinner at the Charles Inn was fantastically well done (my dietary preference was passed from Niagara Vintage to the chef), romantic and with generous wine pairings (see separate review). The service was impeccable. Our lunch during the day tour was in a perfectly idyllic outdoor patio of Riverbend with vineryard view; the service was lackluster and rushed but manager kicked in to gear to help out and we were told this was an exception; they weren't very accommodating to dietary preferences bringing a non-dairy request a creme brulee and then saying sorry: TORTURE! Overall though, so very happy with the location selections by Niagara Vintage. We did not feel rushed on timing for either the lunch or dinner by the guide, imploring us to enjoy our meals. We visited Pilliteri, Pondview, Konzelmann, Southbrook, Hinterbrook and more all along with fantastic guides that would be truly hard to match. read more

We booked a morning tour (begins 10am) without meals included. All other tours we looked into were full so this was our last chance (we only booked the day before because we hadn't planned ahead). We were staying in a B&B on Simcoe Street and they don't do pick ups from B&Bs so they picked us up from Prince of Whales hotel, a 15 min walk. They put you in a cute old bus and people on the streets would take pictures :) There were only us (4 adults) and another party (a couple), so we were lucky and got to visit 3 wineries instead of just 2 as originally planned, because we managed to get on and off the bus quickly. No additional cost for the extra trip. The driver was very friendly and kind. We visited the Strewn winery (lovely and small), Konzelmann estate (bigger winery with lots of interesting stories and a fun guide), and Reif estate (nothing very interesting). read more

I had an amazing tour with Niagara Vintage Wine Tours, I will definitely use their services again, I booked the Ultimate Culinary, Beer and Wine Tour. Our guide Terry picked us up promptly at our location at the designated window, much to our surprise we had Terry all to ourselves - it appears that week days can be a little slower, so we felt like we got a private tour. Terry was well informed and a bit of a wine aficionado himself. I asked lots of questions about the area, the process, and not only were all the vineyards able to answer the questions but Terry gave us all the answers and background we needed. When we had a little extra time Terry was nice enough to stop off at some nice scenic views, specifically at Niagara-on-the-Lake. I can't recommend this tour organizer enough, I am already thinking about my next trip to the region. read more

Excellent Wine Tour - highly recommend this company! There are many different companies to select from in the area. Niagara on the Lake is a popular wine tasting destination. Living close to local wine country (Lompoc, Los Olivas, etc.) we really enjoy wine tasting. We took a basic 101 Wine Tour since we were completely unfamiliar with Ice Wines, what the region is known for. Our tour guide, Tom Patterson was extremely knowledgeable. It was a full day between travel, wine tasting, lunch and more wine tasting. We with with several other smaller groups in a large van - still very intimate group vs. the large buses we saw on the road. We were picked and dropped off at our hotel. We had an excellent lunch at a local Inn in town. Can't say enough great things about our tour guide or this company. Next time in Niagara - definitely will repeat a tour with them! read more

The exquisite wineries we visited had friendly staff who made us laugh while providing us with a great behind-the-scenes look at wine making. The stops were well planned and thought out. At our first stop, we got a tour of a winery and learned how wine was made and how to properly taste it. Let me start by saying WOW, my wife and I took the tour as a birthday/anniversary celebration and we had an excellent time. We took the all day tour which consisted of 4 wineries and lunch at the Charles Inn. Our tour guide was Tom, he picked us up promptly at 9:30 am in a Mercedes Van, Tom was very nice and extremely knowledgeable, he explained to us the history of the region, answered all of our questions and provided us with wine tasting tips throughout the day, I can't say enough great things about Tom. There were 10 people in our group total and we toured 2 small and 2 larger wineries which catered to everyone's tastes, there really was something for everyone. We stopped for lunch after the first 2 wineries, Hinterbrook Winery and Pellittieri Estates and after lunch we toured Peller Estates and Pond View Estates. After tasting at the first two wineries we worked up an appetite and had a Lunch at the Charles Inn, I am a vegan and our server knew exactly what a vegan is which made ordering much easier, he recommended the Quinoa Cakes which were delicious, my wife had the Cauliflower Soup, Mac and Cheese and Creme Brulle she said everything was excellent. The wineries were awesome, the food was incredible and Tom (our guide) made the day special, with so many wineries in the region and the different packages offered by NVWT's we will definitely go back. The wine tour that we did, while expensive, was incredible. My friend and I did the WInemaker's Dinner Tour, which included pick up and drop off from our hotel, tastings at 3 wineries (incl. a tour of one), and a dinner, all for $170 plus tax (it actually ended up being $190 all in). I don't usually say this about such expensive things, but this was worth every penny. Not having to worry about drinking and driving or having a DD, etc. was wonderful (esp. since there were only the 2 of us). The 3 vineyards we went to were lovely (Hinterbrook, Between the Lines, Pillitteri) and we got ample samples at all of them. They only technically give you 3 samples at each, but if you ask to try something else that you are considering purchasing they're happy to oblige (at all but Hinterbrook, which was a little more here is what you get). We got a wide range of samples, from reds, whites, sparklings, and ice wine and were quite happy with the tour aspect of the evening. Our guide was also lovely and explained grapes, how to properly drink wine, etc., and kept boxes in the back of the van for us for any wines we wanted to purchase. But, oh man, the dinner. The dinner was to die for. I'd read some reviews that the food on the wine tours can be less than great, and that they give you a separate 'wine tour' menu. We were taken for dinner at the St Charles Inn (HobNob Restaurant) and the 'wine tour' menu is true - we did get a separate menu rather than the main restaurant one. HOWEVER, it was not a bad menu, it was just parred down (probably so it's easier on the kitchen when they suddenly have 20 people come in) - we had a choice of 3 different appetizers, 3 different entrees, and 3 different desserts (and everyone could pick a different one, you didn't have to pick the same as your partner) and you got a full glass of wine with each course. Both my friend and I choose the steak option so I can't comment on the others (but there was a fish and a chicken) and it was INCREDIBLE. I am from Alberta so I was a little iffy on Ontario beef, but it was cooked to perfection and tasted as good as anything I've ever had in the west. The meal, all-around was so good. Between the food and the full glasses of wine (which were all nice wines... our favorite one ended up being a $25 reserve when we looked for it at the LCBO), the dinner was easily worth $75 each, if not more. Apparently they have a deal with the St Charles Inn, so while not all vine tours will go here, they often do. My only recommendation would be to bring a water bottle - we assumed some would be provided but it wasn't. And to eat first! We didn't end up going for dinner until close to 9pm, and after 3 vineyards and a gazillion glasses of wine in the previous 6 hrs we were starving. WOULD DO AGAIN. and again. and again. read more

Did the tour was told lunch would be provided it wasn't lunch it was a nibble Of cracker and fruit, they made it seem like a meal had I known I would of brought snacks but then I found out no eating on bus anyways which is stupid cause it's a long day and people get hungry I was starving the whole time. They were late and the bus driver was so nosey was trying to enjoy my time with my husband and she kept asking us a million and one questions the entire time I couldn't even get a minute with him. It was very over priced, they didn't bring us to the good wineries. There also wasn't anywhere to stop to but water or anything. Poorly organized. Horrible company do not book with them. Outstanding Tour! We did the Niagara on the Lake winery Day Tour. John was our tour guide and he was amazing! This company is 1st class and knows how to treat their customers. John shared lots of history and interesting facts. He knows the area and wines very well. He introduced everyone at the beginning of the tour so we'd have a fun day together. He made sure everyone was comfortable and well taken care of. He is a professional and a gentleman. He had special champagne served at one winery to celebrate our anniversary and another passenger's birthday. He took our pictures and made sure everyone had what they needed. Even though we were on a tight schedule, we never felt rushed. We visited 4 winery's and had a 75 minute stop for lunch in town. Due to COVID-19 we called to understand the tour process, the operator told us 10 people will fit inside a Mercedes vehicle that seats 14 wearing masks. We felt there is not enough space to be 2 meters away from other participants in a small confined space with poor air circulation. In this situation, a regular mask will not provide sufficient protection. We asked if we can take our own vehicle calling into the tour bus so we can hear the explanation while promising the driver will not drink on the tour. The operator smugly refused and will only refund around 75% of the tour. We cancelled our tour. Our request for a full refund was ignored. I don't recommend this tour and company because they are not giving participants any choices to avoid a highrisk gathering and does not clearly indicate the risk of their practice before you register. The tone of the telephone operator was also dismissive and contemptuous. read more

The knowledge of the tour guide was exceptional. We looked at the grape vines as he told us about them. We went inside for a great tasting and ample food to pair with the wine. We had plenty of time to shop for the delicious wines we tasted. They had an area on the van to keep anything you purchased. We went on to see three other vineyards. My hubby is not a wine drinker (although he found some he liked like the incredible ice wines), so he was thrilled with the brewery part of the tour! The beer flights were terrific! Also you received an incredible sandwich and slaw to go with it. The cost of the tour is so reasonable based solely on the amount of food and wonderful full tastings you received! Plus you get invaluable information from your tour guide as well as the private tours you go on at each winery. We were visiting from the USA and all my fellow Americans need to do this tour! Just remember the cost is in Canadian dollars, so it's a great value! Canadian natives are lucky they have this wonderful tour in their backyard.
