And, once I picked floors it turned out that they were comparable or a bit less than other companies. K&K was able to take up old engineered hardwood and install new engineered hardwood in my entire condo in just three days. The staff worked hard, but with care, right down to placing furniture on cardboard so it wouldn't damage my new floors, and vacuuming up wood scraps at the end of the day so my cat wouldn't get a splinter. When it turned out my dishwasher was leaking, they even helped me remove it so we could put new floors under it. Overall, I would 100% recommend this company. They did great work, and offered great customer service too.

It was a no brainer to choose them. When it comes to the work itself, the craftsmanship was very good, the cuts are so clean and everything looks amazing. They did very fast work without sacrificing quality. The only areas for improvement I would say they could have are: - Communication during the days of the project, so you know without having to ask when they are coming, leaving, what the progress is, etc. - Ensuring when they put furniture and things back that they pay attention to things like hooking up HDMIs back to the correct places - Doing a better job of cleanup -- they left behind a TON of dust coating everything, sawdust in my basement that I presume blew in from leaving the garage entrance open where they were working, cans/water bottles left behind - Building in measurement/space for lower flooring to not leave a gap in the trim; they came back and did some caulking after I had a water/rain issue, but it still doesn't look as good -- I wish that their molding/trim solution filled the big gaps and I'm going to have to find a way to do that myself To their credit, they were very fast and responsive when I had a water issue and came back out the next day. I also had a crack in my basement ceiling where something pounded through or pounded the drywall loose from the flooring above being done, and they credited me enough money back to be able to have my handyman fix it. Overall, I would definitely use DFD again.

We then went to HD & Lowes because they were having sales, but the sales were on just certain products and did not include all the labor because the charge huge prices for taking up, stair work, furniture, and the custom work we needed done. So we asked around and kept getting referrals to Chantilly Carpets -- we were told that they were very small and open by appointment only but they did shop at home, were friendly, had been in business for ever, and the quality of their merchandise and installations exceptional. So we called to find out this is true. Their finished cost including the tax was well under any other estimate that we received. We called our insurance company to see if we could use them, and they said yes that the adjuster knew of them and we could use them. They matched our previous materials and the installation was better than it was originally. Highly recommended.
