K&K was able to take up old engineered hardwood and install new engineered hardwood in my entire condo in just three days. The staff worked hard, but with care, right down to placing furniture on cardboard so it wouldn't damage my new floors, and vacuuming up wood scraps at the end of the day so my cat wouldn't get a splinter. When it turned out my dishwasher was leaking, they even helped me remove it so we could put new floors under it. Overall, I would 100% recommend this company. The previous owners of our house did a terrible job with flooring--3 different types and heights on the same level of the home, installed improperly, etc, the carpets in the bedrooms were dark brown and from the 80s. Basically, we needed our entire house redone which we knew was not a cheap venture. We got quotes from many different companies, and ultimately went with K&K because we felt the most comfortable with them. When John came to do the quote, we weren't sure exactly what we could afford, so we asked him to provide us with multiple quotes based on different types of floors and based on the number of rooms we wanted done (we weren't sure we could afford to do the whole house at one time). John provided us with all the quotes very quickly, whereas other companies required me to send multiple emails reminding them that we wanted some split quotes. We decided to go with K&K after we worked with Seth to get a quote and procure materials for the project. We initially wanted a different wood, but due to export restrictions in Brazil/the manufacturer having limited supply, we ended up choosing tigerwood. Points to Seth for working hard to try to locate enough stock for what we originally wanted and being so forthcoming about it. We actually had a quote from another business that was ~3% lower than what we got from K&K, but because Seth worked so hard to try to fulfill our original request and was so accommodating, we felt that it was worth going with K&K for good customer service. We got the wood installed about four weeks after signing the paperwork and paying the deposit -- the installers worked quickly with removal and installation and were very courteous and polite. The project was completed ahead of schedule. I was also impressed by the workmanship and the precision of the cuts around the existing shoe rail for our old oak bannister, as well as the diagonal entry area into our home office. We've been living with our installation for a month now. The floors are even more beautiful than we could imagine. The gents who installed our flooring are true craftsman. We have a concrete pad under the foyer which required engineered hardwood. We installed hardwood on the main floor, upper hallway and both staircases. Flawless installation! We purchased the premium moisture/sound barrier and it was worth the price. We chose Mirage Escape maple 5 inch engineered & 3 ¼ inch solid in color Mystic Island. The sales process was fine...rep came to our home with samples, ordered what we wanted and the installation was set up without issue. Installers came the day they were scheduled and were on time. We only installed carpet upstairs in a moderately sized home, but they didn't finish until 7:30PM. They were supposed to trim any doors that were sticking due to the new carpet being thicker than the old carpet, but they left without doing so. In addition, there are areas on the stairs and landing that were very sloppy, so I contacted my sales rep for remediation. I had to contact him multiple times to get the door guy to the house first...he came and took care of the doors about two weeks after the carpet was installed. It has been almost two months now since the carpet was installed, and I am *still* waiting for the carpet guys to come back and take a look at the stairs and landing...the last contact, two weeks ago, I was told I would have a date for when they would be coming "tomorrow"...two weeks later I am still waiting. So overall...I liked the sales process, and I appreciate they were punctual and delivered/installed on schedule. But the follow up service has been quite honestly pretty awful. I would say if you go with these folks, better hope everything goes right during install or you'll be left wasting hours and hours trying to get them to come back. read more

I tried to work with this company due to a stellar recommendation from a neighbor. It took a week to get an appointment. Once I got the initial appointment, day of, it was rescheduled by the company until later in the week. So, that day came, and it was rescheduled, I was told I was pushed because they "had to deal with an angry woman customer." I tried to be understanding in these challenging times, and accepted another reschedule. The gentleman finally came out, measured. I am still waiting on a quote. It has been 2 weeks. STAY AWAY! First the good: We hired K & K in 2014 for some big projects in our then-new home (new to us). We had them install carpets in 4 large bedrooms, replace carpets with hardwoods on our second floor, and refinish all the hardwoods on our main level. My POC was Michael Miles, they were very reasonably priced, and Michael and K & K's crew were nothing short of amazing. As a result, when we wanted to replace the carpet in our family room in 2019, I called only one flooring contractor: K & K (specifically Michael). They replaced the carpet in our family room on February 8, 2019, and everything went well. That was in 2014 and 2019. Now the bad: A year later, the carpet in our family room started to buckle. I reached out to Michael, and he promised K & K would stretch the carpet. He indicated that K & K was overbooked and asked for patience, which I gave. He kept putting me off for well over a year. One day, a new representative, Ricardo Perez, answered Michael's line and indicated that Michael had left the company. I asked Ricardo to honor K & K's promise to stretch the carpet and also to provide some estimates on additional projects. Ricardo agreed to stretch the carpet and also provided the requested estimates. Three months later, Ricardo informed me that K & K management had decided not to fix the carpet unless we agreed to hire them for additional projects. I was shocked that after an eight year relationship, they had decided to renege on their promises (and over such a small job - stretching our family room carpet) and actually attempted to blackmail me into hiring them for additional work! So I say again - STAY AWAY! This company has slipped a lot over the past eight years and does not honor their commitments. read more

My wife and I spent lots of time researching a contractor to do our flooring. We must have interviewed 5 flooring companies. Went it came to finally making a decision, K&K Hardwood Flooring beat the competition for the job by almost $800, so we decided to hire them to do our floor. Our salesman from K&K Flooring, Mike Miles, said that the workers, Saul and Domingo, would be at our house between 8-9 AM on Monday morning. True to his word, they arrived on time. Mike indicated that the job of replacing all the carpet and hardwood flooring on the 1st floor, to include replacing the steps leading to the second floor, would only take 2 days. We were surprised, knowing that the floor area was almost 1000 sq ft., to include the 12 steps to the second floor. We told Saul that if he had to take another day, we were OK with that. We would rather have the job done correctly, rather than meet a specific deadline. Shortly after arriving to the house with their tools, both Saul and Domingo went to work. They rarely spoke and just diligently worked, without a break. The moved from one room to another taking up the carpeting, hardwood flooring, and installing the new Mannington AduraMax Napa Dry Cork Vinyl flooring. It went like clockwork. The transition from the old floor to the new flooring today is remarkable. I told my wife that it looked like this new flooring should have been been in the house all along. The workers did take a lunch break on both days at about 1:00 PM. After finishing, they went straight back to work. They knew what they needed to do, and went right to it, to get it done. They were very professional, diligent and proficient as they completed each room. After they finished, they cleaned up all materials and carried it away with them. I would highly recommend this company and both Saul and Domingo to do your flooring needs. They did a superb job and we are very, very happy with the completed project. After getting several estimates for LVP installation, we selected K&K. John was the best rep and answered all my questions, was quick to respond and his quote was extremely reasonable. He helped us decide on the best flooring for our lifestyle (2 dogs and future grandkids). We selected Core-tec flooring in a large panel and had the entire main level done. The work crew was professional and clean. They asked us if we were ok with the different color shades of the flooring and suggested the darker ones would be put in spots that might be covered with furniture. They moved all the furniture and put pads on each piece. It was done a day earlier than expected even with a snowstorm happening outside. He was very prompt with his estimate appointment (if he's running late he will call you) and accurate and fair with the estimate itself. They did two jobs: install hardwood floors and sand then stain stairs after a carpet runner was removed. For the floors they were top notch, best price and fast, efficient work. But the stairs were left quite a mess, stain on the walls etc. The problem is their sales rep is rough around the edges, claimed that the contract stated it was okay to leave walls with stain on them (it didn't say that). I suggested he reduce the price by what it would cost me to clean up the mess and he went nuts on me. His supervisor called and she was great, sent a painter and cleaned it all up beautifully. Why they couldn't have just done that in the first place is beyond me, cost them a star and now I have to give caveats in the review. It would also help if, when the workers who come don't speak English, that some one comes with them at the beginning of the job to answer questions. Been meaning to do this for more than an year now which was around the time when we used K&K Hardwood Floor to fully convert the main level of our single-family home to hardwood. Ours was a bit tricky since that level was already 30% hardwood and one area required interleaving the wood but Andrew found us the exact matching hardwood and assured us that the interleaving will be taken care of. We had got quite a few quotes and K&K was the second lowest among five. We were compelled to consider the lowest quote since the difference was $1.5K but we really liked Andrew for the service he had provided us. He had come over multiple times to explain things in detail that we were not clear on. So we contacted him to ask him if he could match the lowest price which he was unable to do but he did knock off $1K. At that point it was a no-brainer even thought K&K was $500 more expensive and we didn't regret that decision. It was a big job so a crew of 4 installers showed up on time, proceeded to curtain off areas to avoid dust from going to those areas. They were very careful with the furniture when they were moving it around between rooms to clear the area. They pretty much worked non-stop for about 8 hours (except for a 20 min lunch break) and did a fabulous job. Extremely professional, courteous as well as friendly. When they moved the furniture back to the hardwood, they meticulously made sure that each piece had ample pads on it. They vacuumed the floors and all areas that got some dust. The installation was perfect and flowed through our main level seamlessly. We couldn't be more happier. K and K originally worked really hard to accommodate us with timing and scheduling, and I was pleased until it was time for the actual job. The crew showed up late or not at all. My husband took the day off work to meet them and they never showed up. We had to chase down five different people to find out there was an internal miss communication. They left our tub damaged from filling their buckets and my bathroom floor with the glue they used for the floors all over it. Other things I can understand like they didn't have enough wood for the job and they had to wait an extra 4 hrs for it to be delivered to finish the job. They tried to help where they could moving furniture and finishing quickly as possible considering. And didnt charge us for extra leveling because of missed day. Now after living with the product for a few months I have to say I'm even less impressed. Stopped in to store to look for carpet for family room. The woman at the desk said she'd get her estimator. When he came out and found out we only wanted to carpet one room, he started to walk away. We asked him to give us an idea of how much a particular carpet was and he said something like, "we order direct from the manufacturer and don't know the price until we place the order.
