I've been to a lot of chiropractic offices where the process feels quick and impersonal, but that's never the case here. He always takes his time, makes sure every adjustment is done with care, and goes above and beyond to address anything extra that might need attention. Dr. Kambourakis is great! He really takes the time to explain in (civilian terms lol) how your body works. I heard about Dr. Kambourakis after my boyfriend got diagnosed with Bell's palsy. A few years ago, I got surgery in my finger because of a broken tendon. I never realized I was living in pain for six years (I guess my body got used to it) until Dr. Kambourakis used his magic laser on it. The pain immediately went away. It was amazing. My finger worked painless for almost two weeks and then I realized I had to go back as the laser did really help. Functional medicine is the only way to go! I met Dr Kambourakis when I was at the end of my pregnancy with my first born in 2010. He adjusted all my 3 babies a day or two after birth, and I really saw how incredibly important that was, and how sad it is that it's not a standard practice for EVERYONE. But that is not what this review is about. Around 4 years ago I went to a dermatologist for a weird skin growth/rash on my elbow. It didn't bother me, no itching or irritation, but it was new and I noticed it and wanted to take care of it. Dr said it was "dermatitis" and gave me a cream. I follow directions so I put the cream on thinking I was treating the problem with a solution. But later I found out it was steroids, and the dr didn't really know why or what my skin was doing. The rash did clear up but it took a long time. About a 3 years later the rash came back. And I thought, okay I need to put the cream on. And I forgot about it. Around this time, my daughter had some tiny bumps and white spots around her knee that I noticed in a cold weathered month. Nothing bothersome at all. Then in the summer the white spots started getting more prominent and the skin looked like there was a problem/rash. I took her to the pediatrician. She said "we don't know what this is but steroids and sunscreen will clear it up". But by now, because it's my child I figured out that steroids aren't the first go to. So I held off on them. During a routine adjustment for myself, my daughter was with me and I asked Dr K about her rash on her leg. He said right away, that it looked like it could be an indication of either an auto immune response or something going on in her gut. He told us we should do a stool test. So we did and it came back positive for a parasite, high in H pylori, high in candida and really high inflammation. So Dr K recommended some functional medicine (change her diet--stop sugar, gluten and focus on protein and vegetables. And he told her to take Mastica and probiotics). It wasn't easy, but without putting anything on her skin, the rash cleared up!! And now I know we actually addressed the problem. Who knows how the problem could have expressed itself later down the line if she just put the steroids on her skin. And, I also did a stool test for myself and found plenty of problems to treat, followed Dr K's recommendations and my elbow rash cleared up too!! read more

I have been coming to Doc Kambourakis since I was referred by a co-worker back in 2010, and cannot speak highly enough about the entire staff. This is no ordinary profit-first medical practice. Since day one, I've been treated like a friend to the entire staff, not merely a patient. Dr. K has always taken great care to really listen and work with me from acute & chronic pain due to past injuries, to my persistent auto-immune issues. Additionally, the on-staff masso-therapist, Barbara, is absolutely incredible. I'd to as far as stating she's one of the best in town for proper deep-tissue and therapeutic massage. As a person who has never seen a Chiro, I had a lot of reservations about whether or not this was a good idea for my situation. I took my 2 month old baby here. He was experiencing terrible colic, gas, reflux. We had a very difficult labor (41hrs with 8hr of pushing). The midwives recommendation by baby see Dr Kambourakis for cranial adjustments as things may have gotten misaligned due to the extensive pushing and long labor. It worked magic! The colic started resolved drastically after our first visit. Dr Kambourakis is wonderful with babies. My son just loves him and loves adjustments! I first met Dr.Nick when I began taking my sister to his office for cool laser therapy. I was not the patient at the time but had several issues. I really didn't think I could afford the expenditure but Dr. Nick worked with me and it has been a life saver, I have chronic back pain due to a failed surgery and stomach issues which involve a hiatal hernia. I started going to Dr K on my midwife's recommendation, after I was put on bed rest - bones don't like lying still all day, she said, and you'll need regular chiropractic adjustments. Dr K visits were highlights in the difficult second half of that pregnancy, and something I looked forward to each week. During my postpartum recovery I had had an old back injury flare up because of the muscle mass lost during bed rest. I saw Dr K twice weekly and he really took care of me. I knew that full recovery would be slow because of things I was doing to exacerbate the issue, like constantly holding my newborn. ;-) His jokes and positive attitude around this helped my own attitude a lot. And he gave me advice on PT type exercises to do at home to rebuild the muscle. I am no longer in daily pain, because of Dr K's treatment. I still go regularly (about weekly) but now it's more for maintenance / fighting back against typical office worker back issues. He and his office team are great - very welcoming and friendly. I had a problem with frozen shoulder. I went to my Primary Care Md who suggested cortisone shots in my shoulder joint. I was not feeling comfortable with that option due to the side effects associated with that particular treatment. My shoulder problem progressed to the point that I could not extend my arm at all without assistance. The pain was waking me up at night. After seeing Dr. Kambourakis and receiving treatment with the laser my pain resolved immediately. I was able to sleep thru the night again and eventually I was able to move my arm without any pain. My 12 year old son had an accident that caused sever muscle trauma to the entire upper portion of his left thigh. I took him to urgent care and an x-ray was taken to rule out a fracture. He was given a pair of crutches and we were sent on our way, not knowing quite what to do next. I sent of picture of my son's bruised and swollen thigh to a friend. Immediately she recommended that my son should see Dr. Nik. I thought, what the heck, I might as well take my son to him for an opinion. Dr. Nik was able to help me and my son understand the severity of his injury and recommended a laser therapy called K Laser. As a skeptic by nature, I thought to myself, "I don't know how this laser wand is going to help my son, and I doubt it will provide any benefit at all." Well....I was wrong. The day after my son's first treatment, I was absolutely amazed at how much of the swelling and bruising had gone away. I asked my son if he thought the laser therapy help him and he said he is 100% positive that it helped him tremendously. I took my 3 month old son to see Dr. Nic. I was VERY apprehensive about taking my baby boy to a chiropractor but he was dealing with some bad reflux and it had been suggested to me and I'd tried everything else at this point but still knew there was more that could be done. A friend recommended him because he's worked with other infants even younger than my son. I was nervous taking him to his first appt but Dr. Nic and his staff put my completely at ease. He didn't do anything without first explaining what he was doing and making sure I was comfortable and my baby boy was too. Now, one thing to note is that chiropractic care on infants is not the same as adult care. There's no cracking or jerky movements of any kind...just really gentle manipulation. Anyways, my son came away from his first appt in a GREAT mood and was super happy for days after...and his reflux symptoms were much improved! I went in for one follow up and that was it! I wouldn't say Easton's reflux is 100% gone but he's no longer on meds and that makes me VERY happy.
