I cannot recommend Dr. Barak enough!!!! This review is so overdue, but I'm finally getting to it now that I'm looking up new chiropractors in San Diego (since I moved here from Valley Village a few months back.) Dr. Barak's adjustments were the best I've ever had, that I selfishly wish he would move to San Diego too so I could still continue to see him! Or at least get a clone of him hahah. But back to it.. I'm 30 years old and have been working in the bar industry as a bartender/barback for a few years, so I'm always bending over, on my feet for hours, lifting heavy things, etc. This time last year, my lower back was starting to give me issues but I kept ignoring it (stupidly). One morning, I got out of bed and had to lift up a heavy piece of furniture with my bf. I bent over to lift it, not even picking the TV stand up yet, and my back went OUT. I screamed in pain - I couldn't stand up straight after that and was in agony. I immediately looked on Yelp for a chiropractor because I knew I needed help as soon as possible, and luckily he was one block away from the apartment I lived in. I explained what happened - he was kind and showed compassion, and he could clearly sense that I needed immediate help. He told me to come in right away and he fit me in, between patients. I was so grateful for him that day, and every day after that I saw him before I had to move to San Diego (for about 3 months total). He made me feel so comfortable, his whole technique is perfect, and he brought me back to life. I haven't been back to the neighborhood much since I moved, but every time I do go, I think "if I have extra time, I'm going to call Dr. Barak to see if I can come in for an adjustment." I don't have any info about insurance - I was a cash patient, and felt his prices were more than fair. Looking forward to a time where I can get back there for an adjustment! I first required Dr. Barak's services 13 years ago, after a car accident left the left side of my body with limited movement. In less than an hour, he fixed me up. No pain from the accident. Instant relief. He has been taking care of me ever since. Dr. Barak provides an environment of tranquility and peace, which aids in the healing. He explains the body's engineering and how everything works. He taught me movements which would decrease my constant back spasms ... which he has since gotten rid of. He has a gentle, yet powerful, touch. He can losen the most stubborn "pinches" without any pain. One time, it felt as if my spinal column had lodged itself underneath a shoulder blade. Imagine if your entire body had a migraine. That is what it felt like. Dr. Barak put me in several different positions and made several adjustments, and gave me relief from the pain. Dr. Ron is a keeper. My family has been going to him since 1994. We followed him from another office, through brief tenures with various MDs, and to his own office. He listens to what you have to say. He remembers problems you had before and always inquires how various parts are doing. Over the years he has dealt with neck pain, sprains, pulled muscles, sinus problems, arthritic pain, and more. He has been far more effective than traditional medicine for dealing with these problems. Dr. Ron has been my go to guy for back issues. Easy going, professional, level energy that is sincere and conscientious, he makes me feel calm when my body isn't feeling right and is torqued and in pain. The corrections take a moment or two for the correction to set in and that may be the difficult part for some folks, but he is a capable trustworthy practitioner that seeks to help you, but you do have to help yourself and expect less by doing a little bit more on your end when out of whack. To date, he has been the only chiropractor that has been able to fully adjust my upper back/neck/shoulder issues immediately and have me back up and running in no time. Ron was highly recommended, so I looked forward to seeing if there was anything he could do. He is friendly, efficient, and accurate. Don't wait until you're recovering from an accident, or until you are in severe pain to visit a chiropractor - or at least, to visit Dr. B. Like many other reviewers, I first started going to chiropractor in the aftermath of recovery from a leg injury. The ortho surgeon didn't think PT was necessary, so he didn't recommend it. He was wrong, and my recovery wasn't complete, resulting in a gait that is slightly off. As a result, things sometimes drift out of alignment, and I notice soreness here, aches there - and it's time for my Dr. B. Tune-up. The things people do in everyday life put us out of alignment. I travel for work, and I see fellow travelers with heavy bags slung over shoulders, walking titled, (and many of you ladies on heels!). Look at how people scrunch over to talk on cell phones - while pushing a shopping cart, or a stroller while out on their evening walks. That is not good for you, people! Even if you were 100% on with the preventable stuff, we all have nights when we sleep funny, or get stuck at meetings or that uncomfortable booth at a restaurant. As for Dr. B himself, he takes care to learn each person's history, their overall goals, anything unusual going on that day. And he varies the routine accordingly. I schedule my Dr. B Tune-up at least once per quarter. It's a very smart investment. Don't wait until you KNOW you need it. You need it now. read more
