Do NOT trust this guy.
Owner is a typical sleazy mechanic who gives auto body shops a bad name.
I was looking to sell my used car, so I was in the area shopping it around (there are many body shops in the area). This shop was closed, but they had a banner saying they bought used cars, so I gave the number a call. The owner asked me to wait for him to come back.
30 minutes later, he showed up and began to lowball me.
I had done plenty of research and knew how much my cars value was, and he kept asking me what my best price was. Long story short, he kept lowballing me and then strong armed me to accept a price when I said I would look around and get back to him. He told me that he would lower the offer price by $100 if I didn't accept it on the spot. I emphasized that I wanted to check out other offers before making a decision, as this was an important decision for me.
What he did next was appalling. He walked away from me and very rudely said, "you know what? I don't want it."
I told him he didn't have to be rude and advised him to treat his potential customers nicely. He tried to make one more offer and offered me about $200 more than his initial offer, which was still a lowball offer.
I walked away & told him I didn't even want to do business with him.
Since then, he's texted me 4 times and called me three times (once on a blocked number).
TL;DR
I'm not asking for the deal of the century. I was just hoping to have a respectable encounter and a fair discussion. To make me wait over 30 minutes for you only for you to lowball me and pressure me into taking a bad deal? Not cool man.
