We're not wine connoisseurs, but the bottle of Sauvignon Blanc we bought was 13 years old. (They're supposed to be consumed within 2-3 years). Please see photo posted.

*****AVOID*****AVOID*****AVOID*****AVOID*****AVOID…read more Something is very wrong in this industrial storage facility. 1. The tasting list was last updated 2.5 years ago. The list has the date on it. See photo. 2. During a tour of the storage facility we saw over 1000 cases of wines - most of which were from a 2003 vintage and some whites dated back to the 1990's. If the list prices for his wines are to believed, this would be about $500,000 worth of unsold inventory that is 15-25 years old. 3. The "collection" of art is everywhere and Keith Nichols says that some of it was worth thousands and available for purchase. Here is the description of the wines offered for tasting: 2005 Sauv Blanc $23 - Sauv Blancs need to be consumed within 5 years of vintage or risk severe oxidation. The 10 year old wine in our glasses was the color of brewed tea and tasted foul. 2001 Chardonnay $31 - The 16 year old wine was fully oxidized with the color of Coca Cola. Tasted foul. 1997 Merlot $49 - 20 year old fully oxidized wine, the color of strong brewed coffee. Tasted foul 2003 Syrah $39 - Fully oxidized wine, the color of strong brewed coffee. Tasted foul 1999 Meritage $49 - Fully oxidized wine, the color of strong brewed coffee. Tasted foul 1996 Cabernet Sauvignon $55 - Fully oxidized wine, the color of strong brewed coffee. Tasted foul Each of the wines went directly to the dump bucket after a tiny sip. When asked when the bottles were opened, Keith responded "earlier today". Also, he volunteered that he prefers to keep his wines 10 years in the bottle before releasing them. When asked where are his wines with a vintage date newer than 2007, he responded that they were all "at the bottler". That raised our suspicions even more that he is able to store 9 years of bottled wine at his bottler - sure Keith, sure. He mulishly collected the $10 per person tasting fee despite the failed tasting event. These are the facts surrounding our tasting. You draw your own conclusions about what is REALLY going on here. Just imagine it has been the same wines in the same spoiled condition for 2.5 years, at least. You have been warned.

I thought all Holiday Inn Express hotels had identical breakfasts, but this particular hotel did not have cinnamon rolls, hard-boiled eggs, or pancakes available, even though the displays were labeled for such. A big disappointment to not have the cinnamon rolls. The sausages were fabulous--a cut above most other places--crunchy on the outside and flavorful. We were delighted to have a laundry facility on our floor. The hot tub was not functional--the hotel charges full price but doesn't have all advertised amenities. I checked in while my companion waited in the car. The clerk was quite curt, and not at all welcoming. Later, my friend asked her for change for the laundry and experienced a similar attitude.

Moreover, they claimed to be sold out and basically said there was nothing they could do-nothing with maintenance, no cleaning, nothing. Because this response felt dismissive, I called customer service to ask if this was indeed their policy. Instead, the situation got even more bizarre: someone actually came to my door and asked whether I wanted to cancel my stay -- something I never requested. I wasn't trying to leave, I was trying to get help or at least basic acknowledgment of a sanitation issue. The whole thing just got so chaotic and unhelpful that I eventually had to hang up because it wasn't going anywhere. The way this was addressed is utterly unprofessional, especially for a hotel that's supposed to provide comfort and cleanliness. I shouldn't have to sleep in a room knowing a huge roach is hiding somewhere because the staff insists it's "normal." I will not be staying here again, and I would never recommend this place to anyone until they take pest control and customer service seriously.

The tasting room is intimate, comfortable, and tastefully decorated, creating a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy great wine. What really makes this place stand out is the people. The staff and owners are wonderful friendly, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable, making the entire experience feel warm and engaging. LXV is especially known for pairing wine with custom spice and flavor experiences that complement the tasting. They traditional wine tasting and a wine-and-cheese pairing experience (which I highly recommend). The cheeses are coated with the different blends of LXV's own herbs and spices, adding a unique layer of flavor to each tasting. If you enjoy cooking or simply appreciate bold, and well balanced flavors, chances are you'll leave with a few spice blends to take home along with a bottle or two of wine. I highly recommend checking them out.

Our first stop when we arrived in Paso. We've been to so many wineries, this would be one of our top 10. The spice pairing is unique but pairs so well with the wine. Buy 3 bottles to waive the fee. Since it's more of boutique, the bottles are quite pricey, mostly ranging near the 100s. But it was our favorite the whole weekend we went there. And we bought 6 bottles. We loved the spell and got 3 bottles of that! It's a Syrah cab blend. Has the Paso flavor that we love. It's not a vineyard, just a tasting room but worth a visit. We met the wine maker too. Friendly and attentive service. Can't wait to pop open a bottle at home soon!
