MUST STOP HERE!! This place is 10/10. We had the opportunity to stay at the inn for two nights and were already planning our return. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. The wine at this boutique vineyard is delicious, bought some to take home. Last but not least we can't say enough about how friendly Martin (owner) and Julia (tasting room manager) were. Don't miss out, check this out.

This place was great! We stayed for two nights and really enjoyed our experience. We were able to drive just 30 minutes to the coast through the rolling hills. Our hosts were very kind, and the room was charming. We even had glasses of wine waiting for us upon arrival. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family!

Prior to my wife booking our stay at Croad, I had never heard of it. You won't find their wines at any grocery store or wine store because they are a small boutique winery. Their grapes are dry-farmed (only subsisting on natural rainwater and ground water the vines can extract from their long roots). The result is a "stressed," smaller, grape that concentrates the juice which translates into a more flavor intense wine. Well it shows in their products. I have always loved a red blends and fuller wines and Croad is our first membership. They have a super cozy inn with 4 bedrooms near the tasting room (key location) and another ranch house at the entrance to the property that you can rent out for larger groups. Martin and Patty are welcoming hosts who make some pretty darn good wine. Check it out!

Ohhhh I love the wine here! So delicious and rich! What a treat to have this wine! The wine was so good that my friend signed up for the wine membership club. The view of this place is spectacular. You can sit indoors or out on the patio. One our 2nd visit, we ordered a bottle and sat on their outdoor patio. If you haven't tried Croad wine, it's worth a stop!

We stopped by during our day of wine tasting and this was our first stop. Everything was wonderful! We left with a couple bottles of vino. We will definitely be back when we visit Paso Robles again.

If I could pick my favorite wine and vineyard in Paso Robles it would have to be Croad Winery. The owner is a Kiwi from New Zealand and he does dry farming. The result is a very bold rich tasting wine unlike the others we have tried. You can make a reservation for a tasting and then get a cheese plate and enjoy the beautiful view. Martin and Patty have built beautiful grounds in the vineyard where you can sit and relax with a view of the vineyard and enjoy a tasty pizza for lunch which is made in an outdoor pizza oven. There are nature trails through the property that are nicely shaded. You can also play corn hole or bocce ball. We stayed over night in their bed and breakfast inn and had the best sleep ever in their comfy beds. Rosy took good care of us making sure we had fresh fruit and freshly brewed coffee. We joined their wine club so we will be back a lot. Thanks Martin, Patty, and Rosy for taking such good care of us on our vacation. This will be our home a way from home for many years to come. Happy Yelping!

Love Croad!!! Treat you like family. Wine is big and bold. Always have a delightful time. Did I mention the landscaping and view??? Well, go to be impressed. Enjoy!!!!

2017 Mourvedre Pure tasting

Loved it! Plenty of seating, but still an intimate spot to have a sip and conversation. We were greeted when we came in, and she took us to a neat area in the back where they host weddings. Beautiful views, well maintained landscaping, tables and chairs were comfortable and clean, and she was super knowledgeable. We didn't try the cheese plate, but we brought our own food. Super cute small business-vibe with some rad wines! Will be coming back!

What a great place!! First off the wine tasting is complimentary if you stay in one of their rooms!! The place is very clean and the owner Martin and his staff are amazing. Great relaxing place to stay!! Will be back down!! They have a ton of seating around the property it is great!!

Beautiful views!

Accidentally found this winery while in Paso and really loved it. It's a bit of a drive to get to but the grounds are super cute and the views are spectacular. We enjoyed the wine as well. The hostess was welcoming and we just did a glass instead of a full tasting. Parking is free and easy. They also have a hotel attached in case you want to stay and relax here. Lovely spot in Paso!

We took a wine tour with Grapeline and this was by far our favorite stop. Every single wine we tasted was so good, but the Syrah and Zinfandel were incredibly delicious. We ended up ordering a glass of each to enjoy on top of our tastings. And yes, we ended up taking a few bottles home. The views at Croad are just beautiful. The service was friendly and we were helped by everyone working the day that we went. I highly recommend stopping here and trying what they have to offer.

Our deepest apologies to Lisa and Rob that this review is so overdue…read more I found Kindred Oak Farm by perusing the internet, it looked absolutely stunning. I called to make a reservation and spoke to the owner, Lisa. She was so warm, accommodating, and helpful-when I hung up the phone, I said I could be friends with that gal. When my husband and I arrived we were greeted by the friendliest, most beautiful, Great Pyranese brother and sister duo, Auggie & Gigi. Then, we met Lisa. She was so welcoming to us and so beautiful inside and out. She explained everything to us, showed us our spectacular room, Adelaide, that was full of upscale amenities. The entire room and bath area was amazing. The grand fireplace, the bathtub for two, the linens on the bed, the fabulous bottle of wine-I could go on. Even the coffee was from a local, organic coffee maker. Now let's get to the three-course breakfast we were served everyday of our four-day stay. We felt like we were at a three-star Michelin restaurant that included incredible homemade juices by Lisa. Each course was so presented so elegantly, but also in an atmosphere that made you feel right at home. Of course we went wine tasting. Lisa and Rob (Lisa's husband and co-owner) recommended wonderful wineries that we went to, and we were very pleased. Everywhere we went I had to tell them where we were staying and how beautiful and relaxing the B&B was. Back on our first morning there, Rob had taken us for a tour of the farm where we saw the game room, wedding area, the vineyard, and my favorite-the beautiful highlander cattle. Such an experience-no wonder Lisa and Rob are so happy there. Also, an honorable mention goes out to Little Girl, their precious kitty. We will definitely be back and have told all of our friends about this heaven on earth B&B. Thank you, Lisa and Rob, for making my birthday a wonderful memory!

Lisa went above and beyond to make our stay very special -- engaging our toddler in little farm activities, giving us personalized recommendations for things to do in the area, and making us feel right at home. Kindred Oak Farm was absolutely memorable and I'd recommend this special place to anyone looking for a luxurious yet cozy getaway.

For my Wife's Birthday this past November, we booked our first trip to Paso Robles…read more To be perfectly honest... I don't know why, but I always thought that Paso Robles or "Paso" as it's referred to, was some Podunk town that just wasn't worth stopping for. Yeah, I've passed it so many times while traveling North on "THE 101" or simply "101" as they refer to it in NorCal.... ;) (IYKYK) And all those times I've passed through, I've never once thought about pulling off the freeway to see what Paso was all about. Well, just like Julia Robert's character said in Pretty Woman while shopping on Rodeo Drive.... "Big Mistake. Big. HUGE!" Yeah, just like that sales clerk in Pretty Woman I too made a HUGE mistake! Plot Twist: I am the Good Looking Not Quite the Silver Fox Richard Gere of this story. =) ----So let's break down Paso & The Ava Hotel---- For my wife's Birthday Weekend, we made reservations at... The Ava Hotel Paso Robles. Mind you, we left mid-day from our home and by the time we arrived to Paso and pulled into the Hotel parking lot, it was already dark, but right away I could tell that the Hotel my wife booked us was Top Notch. First Impression: Sheesh, my wife sure knows how to spoil herself for HER Birthday weekend. Haha. Once parked, I had my wife and 3 girls head into the lobby out of the cold while I lugged what felt like 12 suitcases... We were only there for three nights; do you really need a suit case just for your change of shoes?? Gotta love Girls... Plot twist: The suitcase with the extra shoes.... WAS MINE!!!!!! Jk, maybe, not really, I'll never tell... =) Upon checking in, I immediately noticed how Great the staff was; Kind, Welcoming and from the looks of the place, even at night, I just knew we were going to enjoy our weekend stay here. ----The Room---- Everything you'd expect, but More! We had 2 comfy Queens, a large screen TV, a mini fridge, a clean bathroom and a Great standalone shower! Being that this hotel is Brand New, everything was clean and felt nearly unused which really made for an enjoyable stay. The next morning, my wife's actual Birthday, we got dressed, headed downstairs and celebrated with a Birthday Mimosa from their Lobby Bar. It was the perfect start to our day and to my wife's Special Day From there we headed out to explore Downtown Paso Robles which BTW, The Ava Hotel is what I would call the start of the Downtown area so it's literally the PERFECT place to stay if you, yourself come to Paso Robles one day. And to those still with us, Remember earlier when I said I made a "Big Mistake. Big. Huge!" By simply thinking that Paso Robles was some Podunk, no-nothin town that wasn't worth exiting the freeway for?? Well, I'll be the 1st to admit. I was wrong!!! Paso is one of my new favorite Central Coast towns that I can't wait to come back to. The fun little shops, the great eateries, Wine, more Wine, Did I mention there's Wine? Yeah, loads and loads of world-renowned wineries specializing in French Reds, but they've got whites too so don't stress. Not a wine person? More of a beer drinker? Paso's Got You!! Come check out Firestone Walker Brewing Co., home of the "805" beer; the regions Phone Area Code. Yeah, drink local baby!! So after enjoying breakfast at the Cowgirl Cafe (Epic Review coming soon), we went to the downtown park at let our kids play with the locals. We then hit several of the eclectic shops, including a local bookstore where my wife was like a kid in a candy store and The Spice of Life Tea Shop which I fell in love with (reviews of everywhere we went NEXT, so stay tuned) and finally made our way back to The Ava to take a break and rest our pups (our feet). Upon walking back to The Ava Hotel, I couldn't help but be in Awe of this well manicured, architecturally forward, beautifully designed building. To be honest, It looks and it feels more like a Resort and I felt so spoiled to be apart of its beginning days and I'm proud to give it the 5 stars it deserves. So... What have we learned?? Step 1: Book a room at the Ava Hotel. Step 2: Put your wife's name on the luggage tag of your suitcase for the extra shoes you really brought. Step 3: Bring one empty suitcase for all the Romantasy books your wife's gonna buy at Spare Time Books! To Paso.... To The Ava Hotel... I can't wait to come back!

Self-parking was available in their private lot for a fee, but we found unlimited street parking right in front of the hotel every day. We felt safe since the police department was across the street. The lobby was spacious with many modern seating areas. Breakfast and lunch could be ordered via their walk-up counter. We reserved a room with a king bed and it was pretty small. There were only 2 drawers for clothing in a tiny closet. Bathroom had a single sink and a large shower. One positive was the very comfortable mattress. A shallow salt-water pool and fitness center were located on the second floor. Bicycles were available on the ground floor too. Overall, we enjoyed staying at this hotel and would return again.

We used the pool/hot tub. I peeped in the exercise room plenty of activities for all. We didn't dine at the property, but the bar was fully stocked and I did enjoy a delicious Old Fashion one evening. My only complaint: as we stayed 4 nights there was no room cleaning and we ran out of towels and toilet paper. We were informed by staff rooms were cleaned every 3 days. Our room was never straightened or checked on and when we ran out of toilet paper I was informed by staff: "please come to the front desk as I am the only person on duty presently." I believe that this hotel would benefit by placing a placard regarding the checks on rooms, refill on towels/toilet paper and emptying of trash cans so guests are aware of the situation. I'd rather sleep in a tent with good morning coffee than sleep in a luxury hotel with crappy morning coffee. The big gripe is that there was no coffee machine in our room. It was an espresso machine. Instructions for use were three cryptic images that made no sense. They looked like diagrams you might find on an extraterrestrial space craft. I inserted one of the four thimbles of espresso , which I mistook for instant coffee into the hole a bit crooked and when I lifted the lid to adjust it, it fell down inside the machine. I tried again and the second thimble fell inside the machine. So then I delicately inserted the 3rd thimble and it got in place ok. Still not knowing it was espresso I used a full cup of water and it made for a nasty watered down tasteless drink. Also the thimbles come in two colors. One color is decaf-- but they don't tell you which color is decaf. I inserted the 4th thimble and used 1/4 cup of water. It tasted nasty. Then my wife said, "Where's my coffee?" I told her it's all gone. She was sad. So I struggled to dismantle the machine and dig out the two unused thimbles but then I couldn't put it back together. We figured to heck with it. We will wait until the maid cleans our room and try again on day two. I went to the lobby assuming they would have complimentary coffee. BIG FANCY LUXURY HOTEL AND NO COMPLIMENTARY LOBBY COFFEE. That's nickel - dime bs. We had to dress and drive into town for coffee. I was too upset to buy their restaurant coffee. I found the maid down the hall. I asked her if she could help me reassemble my espresso machine. She said she did not know how to- which means she can't ever empty out the used thimbles. She gave me a brochure but it didn't contain any assembly instructions. We left for the day touring the region. Got back late. The maid had come and made our bed. The maid never touched our dismantled espresso machine. She did not put it back together and she did not leave us any new thimbles of coffee or more creamer. It's going to be a long three days without our morning coffee. One other gripe. At the bar one evening I ordered a shot of tequila. I specifically asked for NOT top shelf. I didn't know the brands and couldn't see the labels from my stool. He picked one for me. I said I want in NEAT. He asked if I wanted it cooled. My mistake - I said sure. He poured my shot into a tumbler of ice which melted. I got a glass nearly full. I was pleased at first. I thought he'd given me a healthy pour. I was wrong. I got a glass of watered down tequila that tasted just as bad as my watered down espresso. The cost for a shot? = $16!!!! PS if you want a great breakfast reasonably priced, and great coffee, drive a couple miles to Joe's in Templeton. .

It definitely invites you to sit down and snuggle by the fire with a good book. Such a cozy feeling! You can also select some candy for a snack. The rooms themselves are also beautiful and the bedding looks nice. Though I will say for me personally the pillows were really uncomfortable, and they had a rough spun duvet which smelled musty on the inside like it hadn't been washed in quite awhile. It looked and smelled like they were washing the sheets and the blanket but not the duvet itself. This has been the only hotel that charges a parking fee. The ones closer to downtown doesn't even charge anything. It took me a while to set up pay to park, which was not fun after a long day of work. My 1st night I amlost fell on toilet because they are super low. They are elementary school sized toilets. As someone else mentioned, the big gap underneath the door makes it easier to hear everyone. The 1st night I heard some lady have a long conversation at 11 pm and on. My last day, someone's phone vibrated at 5am, 5:15 and 5:30am and I thought it was my phone bc of the thin walls. That person also had a full on conversation with his partner, so needless to say I gave up on sleeping until 730 am. Another thing I didn't like is the lack of black out curtains. So the sunrise would wake me up the first couple more nights. Room does have a nice size and I like how it has a desk. Wish there was a light switch to turn on more lights in the room, instead of individually flipping on all the lights. Other amenities they offer are free breakfast, mini gym and computer to do office or emails. I had stomach issues 2 days in a row from their breakfast so I started to stick with fruits and coffee for breakfast. I'm pretty sure the yogurt gave me issues because it's just yogurt on an ice pack on the bottom vs other places having yogurt in the fridgator or some container that looks like it stays cooler. The gym had a couple treadmills, free weights, kettle bells, the jumping box thingy, and a thing that looks like a bow flex. I personally would not book this place ever again due to paying to park, not having to have good sleep due to thin walls and gap underneath the door and the food giving me stomach issues. But I will say staff is friendly tho!
