My husband order a plate with combo chicken and steak (WARNING: COMBO IS AN UP CHARGE!). Asked if he wanted rice or (Greek) fries. (WARNING: FRIES ARE AN UP CHARGE!). Just know base prices include chicken - everything else is an up charge. We are fine with up charges but feel like we should have been informed. Dinner came to $44.00 for 2 meals, no drinks or combos. read more

Extremely Disappointed I'm very disappointed with my experience at Nick the Greek. I paid $45 for two bowls--a gyro bowl and a Mediterranean bowl with steak--and the portions were extremely disappointing for what I paid. I received what looked like a single scoop of rice, a small handful of salad, and only about 5 tiny pieces of steak. For $45, I expected a substantial serving of food, especially from a restaurant charging these prices. The portions were so small that it felt like I barely received any food for my money. This was also incredibly inconvenient because I paid for what I expected to be a filling meal and instead was left feeling like I needed to find something else to eat. I understand food prices have gone up, but $45 for these portions is simply not reasonable. The food may have tasted okay, but the value was absolutely not there. Definitely NOT worth $45 at all. I left feeling ripped off and very disappointed. I hope management takes a serious look at the portion sizes because customers should feel like they received what they paid for. This Nick's was a random find and I love Greek cuisine so I stopped to check it out. ...Pros & Cons... *Pro: clean & nice atmosphere despite being small. Great staff. *Con: 2 out of 3 food items I ordered looked less than appetizing. Greek fries looked anemic. Spanakopita looked greasy and tired. Falafel Pita looked gorgeous! *Pro: despite some of the food not looking that great, the taste of everything was AMAZING!! Yummy, yummy, yummy! *Con: despite tasting wonderful, the falafel was spicy! Made my nose run a bit. I loved it but unless you like a bit of spice, I don't know if you would enjoy it... *Eh- baklava is neither a pro nor con. Recently we had cause to stop by Nick The Greek in Ceres following a disastrous visit to the Ono Hawaiian nearby (Ono is a good name for it, as in "Oh NO"). Anyway, we found Nick The Greek's the food to be fresh, flavorful, and worth a return stop in the future. I felt that the wait time in the drive-through was a bit longer than we wanted and may just walk in for a sit-down experience. Anyway, a solid four out of five. I normally go to the location in riverbank but i went shopping in Ceres so i passed by this one. HORRIBLE! I found a hair and called just to let them know that there was hair. Be more cautious. The girl basically told me "oh well" So whatever right, it's one hair, and I hang up. I keep looking in my food and FOUND TWO MORE!! now I call again irritated. Spoke to Mayra, and she said there's no way there can be hair in the food, and everyone is wearing hair nets in the kitchen. Well why is there THREE hairs in my food. Why would I call back AGAIN to complain. She was so rude and not helpful at all, immediately defensive. Chicken was nasty also, tasted burnt. My wife and I went to the Nick The Greek at Sisk n Pelandale Ave. in Modesto. Amazing food and great customer service. Habib the Mgr. Was extremely friendly and helpful, it was our first visit to a Nick The Greek Restaurant. We both ordered a bowl, while It was being prepared we saw a very nice couple next to us eating a Greek Beef Hamburger, after talking to them and saying it was the best burger they had ever had we decided we wanted to try one too. So we bagged up our bowls for dinner. I have to admit it was the most flavorful burger I have ever had, it was seasoned perfectly. We also tried the Halloumi Fries, which actually are cheese cut into stick shapes and fried, they were so good they melted in my mouth. We will Definitely be going back. He was super friendly, and when I told him I had never been here before he said "what do you want?" He then proceeded to get me a complimentary bowl. We've been to other locations specifically the Riverbank one and liked it alot. We tried this location and the chicken souvlaki was good but the fries were pretty hard for some reason maybe overcooked? Which was disappointing because the fries are usually hot and full of flavor.. I also didn't care for the baklava froyo either. I was expecting the yogurt to be sweet but it was bitter like plain froyo.. maybe that's my fault for not asking beforehand. My husband liked it though. We like Nick the Greek but would probably go to a different location next time but it's nice that this one has a drive thru. read more

Food is so FRESH AND DELICIOUS!! I can't say enough GREAT things about this place. The chef takes pride in what he serves . Service is exceptional. Drive-through is so convenient. The restaurant was clean, offered lots of seating, and had great AC. Our Mediterranean bowl and gyro bowl with falafels, in addition to a side salad and order of shaved beef/lamb, was delicious. We didn't try the other desserts but the baklava was fresh! The froyo and greek donuts were ordered by multiple patrons as we ate our meal in the dining area, so they must be yummy! The service was impeccable, which is impressive considering the manager, Eric, was singlehandedly taking indoor register orders and drive thru orders in English and Spanish, along with fulfilling door dash orders, bussing/cleaning, communicating with the kitchen professionally and patiently, accommodating for patrons' last minute requests/needs, and delivering food to tables. Eric deserves a raise, a medal, and a vacation. An all around great and affordable experience. Pro tips: Lots of inexpensive drink options in the attached gas station mini-mart that also offers bathrooms for Nick's customers. read more

Had to try it. Just opened in Ceres. The place is small so the tables are right next to each other. I don't care for that. I had the Falafel Pita and enjoyed it. Plenty of falafels and the sauce is good. Messy as heck though! My wife had the Gyro Plate and salad. Good flavor but the meat was dry. Very good basmati rice. Nick the Greek is one of the best places to come for fresh, healthy, fast food. I usually come once a week and order through the drive through. It's very convenient and the service is always very friendly. I usually get the gyro bowl with chicken. So delicious and fresh tasting. A little pricey but worth it. If you go you have to get the Greek fries they are the best in my opinion. Better than some in fancy restaurants. It has scallions, dill, feta and garlic it's so savory and to die for. Definitely recommend this place to everyone I know. One day I want to try their desserts they look amazing too! read more

Food is fantastic, but they are SO expensive. You could go to Skewars down town at dinner and have a beautiful dining experience for the same price as a drive thru meal. The drive thru is slow even when no one else is waiting and the dine in side is empty. read more

Never heard of fast food Greek until now. What a great option that is healthier than your typical fast food. The service is pretty quick. The establishment is located in a gas station which is definitely interesting. Nonetheless this is a great option for a quick bite. There are better Greek places but I don't think they are quite as convenient as this one. read more

This was my second time here, and the food was just as good as the first. Everything was fresh and packed with flavor. I highly recommend the Nick fries and the beef/lamb gyro--both were excellent. Prices are a bit high, but that's pretty much the case everywhere these days. The only downside is that it's actually connected to a gas station, which can give off a "gas station food" impression. But don't let that fool you--this place is the real deal. Definitely worth trying. read more

Was not impressed with this establishment. I was really hoping for something more, but when I saw French fries in my gyro, I was over it and put it outside for our barn cat and the possums. The salad was even worse! It was all spinach, yuck! So that went outside as well. I ended up eating Baldak Ramen. At least that has flavor. Huge disappointment. Disclaimer: we love the Riverbank location. Unfortunately, the Ceres location left a lot to be desired. The drive through staff was condescending and rude. Very little seating (gas station adjacent) and even though it is a brand new location it already seemed "dirty". Such a disappointment! We were hoping for a similar tasting experience to the other locations. Especially since it is right off the 99 hwy. (Although navigating the parking lot and drive through is a little tricky with the amount of traffic, number of establishments and ongoing construction.) Food: The falafel was not cooked through. The fries were soggy (NTG fries are usually crisp)! The cooks/staff at Riverbank are friendly and authentic. read more

This Nick is definitely up to par. Just about all the Nicks have consistent food quality. The staff here is definitely alot friendlier and attentive than most that I've been to. Their price is pretty much consistent. Looks like we'll be coming back here for our Nick cravings unlike Popeyes next door. Food is consistent like all Popeyes but THE WORST customer service. Have been here to tryout the selections. My favorite is the Beef/Lanb Gyros. Today the steak Bowl. A nice variety of taste and flavors. Steak tender and tasty. A good mixture of veggies on top of yellow rice. Pickles onions interesting. Definitely a good lunch place for me. One negative is that it's noisy. A quiet conversation is a challenge.
