Days before our visit, we called ahead to ask if they could accommodate a fairly large lunch gathering of 30 people, and they didn't hesitate for a moment. Amazing! The absolute best Persian food! Just down the street from Stan State on Monte Vista Ave. You have to start with the hummus which is unmatched. Possibly the best hummus I've ever had. I like to get the Koobideh which is delicious and very filling. I always end up taking half of my dish home for a second meal. Today Amy got the gyro wrap, she loves it. The service is amazing. One of my favorite things they do here is leave a water carafe on the table for us to refill our drinks. So few places offer this and I'm not sure why, I love a water carafe for the table. The ambiance is peaceful with nice tables and decor. They have indoor and outdoor seating. This is the kind of restaurant I always enjoy. Mom and Pop, family restaurant. We called in an order when we were driving thru Turlock to Modesto. We wanted something different than our usual. My wife called here. The person on the phone was very friendly and helpful. We ordered a few things. A ground meat kabob, beef, chicken, and lamb. The plates came with rice. We also ordered a lettuce salad, an eggplant dip, and hummus. Guys-it was all super delicious. All meats were delicious. Flavorful and juicy. The rice was white rice but it went well with the meat. The hummus and dip were both really good. They came with pita bread. The green salad was just plain, with olives, tomato, and cucumber. It was nice to have something green and light with the meal. I'm a food enthusiast and I love to review new restaurants in town. I recently heard Patogh is under new management and wanted to pay them a visit when in town and check them out. Restaurant is much cleaner than it was before and much more organized and food was better than I expected. Koobideh (which is a jewel of Persian cuisine) was cooked perfectly and I also tried their lamb shank which is made fresh everyday and baghali polo (herbal and fava bean rice) was delicious. However one bite of koobideh was enough for me to know this is a special place. I would strongly recommend this place to my friends and family and "Nami No Kababs" should get ready for a fierce competition in this small and beautiful town of Turlock! read more

What a pleasure this little gem was running into. While visiting my son in college we came across this Mediterranean spot. There were two gentlemen inside working this place they looked like brothers, extremely friendly and very welcoming. We sat outside to enjoy the weather and people watch. The food was excellent, very fresh meats and hot. We ordered beef soltani (1 flap meat skewer, 1 ground beef), chicken combo ( 1 chicken skewer and 1 ground beef) that came with rice and hummus for an app. They prepared it family style for us and it was a great presentation. The skewers were large and came with roasted tomatoes and jalapeño with a lime a little bed of red onion and I believe cilantro. The flap meat was everyone's favorite, very tender and fresh, freshness for me is very key and this place nails it. The chicken was also very good, the ground beef was not bad but I will go for chicken and flap meat next time! At the end of the meal the host gave us a couple of pieces of baklava on the house! Met my friend here for dinner last night and sat outside in the cool evening breeze... a lovely gentleman named Eden came out to greet us and made some suggestions for us... as it was my first time, we had a bit of chicken and beef... the appetizer was the hummus, bread and Greek yogurt (which we used on our meat). Patogh has the kind of food you crave two days after you ate there... so you go again! I've eaten here many times and the food is consistently good. I like that it is freshly prepared. I like that the food isn't fried. At the counter, you can see into the kitchen and it all looks very clean. There are fresh flowers on the tables. No loud music or television is playing, which is part of the appeal for me because I often eat with someone who has trouble hearing, and we can enjoy a conversation.
