I cannot say enough how fantastic the experience has been in spite of the circumstances that prompted it being not so fun and actually pretty scary. Ashley has been phenomenal in helping me navigate my injury and I cannot say enough about both her technical skill as a practitioner and her level of caring as a person. She also was a great sounding board as I worked with an orthopedist and a PT. She supported me as I needed to advocate for myself when my pain was minimized. Of all the treatment options, this is the one that I've chosen to continue. The space is comfortable, clean, and relaxing. I've never had an issue finding street parking. And I appreciate that I can buy multiple sessions at once to save some money. Overall, it has been years since I've seen a massage therapist I've felt this comfortable with and I cannot recommend Sacred Space enough.

You won't have to worry about parking, as there is ample space throughout the entire area. The MTOB office has a few rooms available for different massage services. I've been in once for a couples massage and once most recently for a cupping service. 10 minutes of cupping is said to be the equivalent of 90 minutes deep tissue massage in relation to releasing toxins. My therapist Maria told me that she tries to not leave marks on her clients but I requested that she go hard on me, marks and all. Maria has a lot of awareness and is conscious of her clients' reactions during a treatment. She knows when to go hard and when to scale it back, without you having to say a word. This, to me, is a sign of a true professional. The treatment rooms were very luxurious, calm, peaceful, and the perfect temperature. I enjoyed the signature massage oil and eucalyptus aromatherapy which immediately calmed me down, as I was a total spaz on my last visit. One of the hard things about spa treatments for me is jumping back into the world after experiencing such relaxation. Leaving the MTOB facility and stepping into the adorable, wooded parking lot was such a gentle way to ease back into things without losing my serenity.

Based on that price, I brought $70 in cash with me so I could leave a $15 tip. Unfortunately, the massage itself was not relaxing as I had hoped. The woman used an excessive amount of pressure and a punching-type technique that made the massage quite painful rather than relaxing. The lady also was passing gas during the massage multiple times. When I went to pay, I was told the price was actually $65. Since I had brought $70 based on the price I was quoted over the phone, I only had $5 available for a tip. When the gentleman saw the amount I was leaving, he pressured and bullied me into using the ATM to withdraw additional cash for a larger tip. I felt extremely uncomfortable and embarrassed, especially with other customers waiting behind me. The unexpected price difference was frustrating, but being pressured to withdraw additional money for a tip was what really made this experience unpleasant. A tip should be voluntary and based on the customer's experience--not something a customer feels pressured into giving. Unfortunately, I left feeling uncomfortable rather than relaxed, and I would not return. Mind you, I'm an 18 year old girl who was bullied by this man.
