This a nice open air venue in Fishers. It is relatively new, opening in 2018, and is a wonderful site to host music events, festivals, farmers markets or other special events. It is well maintained and has tons of nearby free parking. There are restrooms located in the back of the amphitheater. The venue is well planned and constructed. The amphitheater is constructed with acoustic walls, a big screen for movies and a new light and sound system. The amphitheater lawn is raised about 3 feet to provide better seating and views of the stage. There is also a 1,700 square foot pavilion that can accommodate 46 people and houses bathrooms and public meeting rooms. The grounds are immaculate, very well groomed and maintained. There are a few picnic tables with benches. If you are attending an event here, I would recommend bringing your own chair or blanket. Other items that you can bring are dependent upon whetter it is a free or ticketed event. For example, dogs and alcohol are allowed for free events, but more than likely are not for ticketed ones. This is an awesome venue that has many free family friendly events. Parking is also free. There is a fountain that doubles as a splash pad on site as well. It is truly a place to have a good time for everyone in the family. read more

I've lived in Fishers for 7+ years, but I recently went to a Friday night concert at the AMP and have been kicking myself ever since for not having discovered this sooner. I think one of the reasons I hadn't gone before was because I thought it would be overly crowded, hard to find parking, etc. And I found neither of those things to be true. I found a parking space right away, and it was free. There's a huge grassy area close to the stage, or you can sit a little further away if you don't want it to be so loud. Pro tips: No outside alcohol is allowed, but they have vendors on site offering beer/wine. My wine came in a flared plastic cup that allowed me to put it in the cup holder of my camp chair--brilliant! You can bring your own food, so pack a picnic dinner, or get food from any of the food trucks on site. Bring chairs/blankets, and don't forget bug spray! Nice venue for a family outing to watch some great live entertainment! It has decent parking and a good selection of food trucks. The grass is well cared for and it must be sprayed as I never had one mosquito or any biting insects bother me all night. The restrooms were clean and new - the only downside to then was the fact that there is only one soap dispenser and it's in an awkward place. We should also mention the band we saw - Pink Droyd a Pink Floyd Tribute band. Fabulous! Great light show! Great job! read more

I loved the small concert feel but, they really should have designed the stage differently. We sat right behind the sidewalk/driveway in front of the stage and by the time everyone got in and stood on that sidewalk the entire time, we couldn't see Sam Barber whatsoever unless people moved their heads so we could see. What's the point of getting there early to get good seats if they are just going to let everyone stand in the walkway?! There wasn't a security guard or a cop in sight and small children were there while people were smoking cigarettes and marijuana. read more

This is a nice outdoor venue! I've been to the farmers market here many times and attended a concert here. The space is nice and well kept and it has space for one of the biggest farmers markets in Indiana. Perfect place to spend an evening. Any times I've needed to use the water fountains/bathrooms, they've been nice and it's super great that an outdoor venue of this size has an indoor bathroom option. I generally prefer to stay around downtown venues, but I'm glad this is here and is getting more artists to come through. If there's ever an event here, it's worth attending. This was my first time visiting the amphitheater at Nickel Plate. The location is convenient and in the heart of Fishers. It's surrounded by the library, police station, post office, along with shops and eateries nearby. I got there when the gates opened before the free concert put on by Spark! Fishers. Since it was a free event, I thought it might be crowded so I arrived early. We ended up parking at the library, but there are lots behind the amp and a garage nearby. There were two lots of food trucks. I saw tacos, pizza, chicken sandwiches, and tenders, hot dogs, hamburgers, and even tamales. There were also alcoholic beverages trucks at each lot. Outside alcohol is prohibited, but you can bring your own food and drinks. We brought chairs to sit in the grassy lawn, some had blankets as well. I also noticed a few round tables sprinkled throughout. The sound was pretty good. I sat close to the stage and could see really well. I had a good time and would definitely visit again for a concert. read more

There are always concerts and activities happening in the Nickel Plate District. While most of the musical acts are local or cover bands, the district does host nationally-renowned acts such as at the Fishers Blues Fest. Best of all, the shows are almost always free. The amphitheater was recently renovated to make for a better concert experience. The lawn is now higher to offer an improved view of the stage. The reconfigured walkways allow for better access to seating areas. The new pavilion and fountain offer alternative activities during shows. New bathrooms are accessible in the pavilion and more Porta Potties are now available. For free concerts, attendees are allowed to bring their own coolers. As such, the food and drink options can be somewhat limited on-site. The paid shows offer more options but expect more wait times for these occasions. The free concerts are quite popular with locals but never feel super crowded. There are some kinks to work out with paid shows due to logistics and security. As long as you stick to the free shows, the Nickel Plate District Amphitheater is a nice venue and offers a good music experience. read more

This might be one of my favorite new outdoor venues in Central Indiana. I had only been here for the Fishers Farmers Market, but recently came to see Ruston Kelly and Jade Bird perform (for only $10 I'll add). I love this venue because: - free public hammocks available in the lawn; - clean restrooms; - bring your own chairs and water; - very intimate venue without being overly crowded; - easy, free parking garage a quick 2-minute walk away; - feels like you're in a neighbor's backyard - it's not flooded with advertisements and signage and corporate-y vibes like most concert venues are nowadays; - Four Day Ray pouring fresh, local brews. Things to improve: - the variety of food trucks was underwhelming; - it was very, very loud and we were sitting quite far back. Maybe turn it down just a few notches next time so my eardrums are working when I'm older. read more

I have never been to a concert here before and was so excited to get the chance to do so! A friend asked me to go to mt joy and Houndmouth and I couldn't pass it up. We ate at 4 day ray first (ps eat there if you haven't yet) and then walked over to the Ampitheater. Nickel plate is such a cute neighborhood! Very well maintained and picturesque! When we arrived at the actual theater we just scanned out tickets and walked in. It was a quick process if you didn't have any bags. Make sure you bring chairs and blankets if you want to sit on the grass. All and all it's an awesome set up, you have plenty of space to find a good seat, and there is a separate space for food trucks and beer purchase. They did have a bit of an issue with the Beer line, but if you read the Indy star it sounds like they are trying to Rectify the issue. I'd go back here for more concerts, it's a great set up for a park! read more

I love this concert venue! There is a ton of close by parking including free garages! There are also a lot of nearby place to eat. It's so easy to get to just enjoy the show. We have never had an issue with parking or leaving and seen about 10 concerts here. They just added on to the stage and the roof making it almost twice as big! I love we can sit right down in front or you can spread out and everyone has a good viewing spot. And they have real bathrooms behind the stage! There area also some other public restrooms nearby. I prefer to skip concerts in Carmel to come here. Love the ease of parking and how large the are is so no one is crowded! The Friday night concerts are amazing! We saw Sugar Ray, the Boy Band Review, Smash Mouth, and more! read more

It's a nice lawn for a small concert! We came for Houndmouth and I was blown away with how picturesque it was. There's not much to it other than the amphitheater and lawn though, so bring chairs/blankets etc. I'm not sure if the amphitheater is run by the same department as the vendors but there was a lack of portable bathrooms as the lines never seemed to die down during the whole concert. Also, they had a section off to the left with food vendors and drink vendors, which is nice because it's not taking up the space for people to sit for the show. Again, not sure if vendors are run by the venue, but the line was extremely long and definitely deterred a lot of people. I remember seeing the same people in line for beer when we first got there till almost the end of the concert. Not sure if it's allowed, but I would recommended bringing food if that's the case for the future. read more

This is a beautiful ampitheater, however, they don't have it quite together yet. Thank you B 105.7 for the free Rick Springfield tickets, but giving them away to everyone led to a total fiasco with people who are not regular concert goers, not knowing how to act. I'm not sure how many women were there, but having a women's room on only one side with four stalls was poor planning, even if you take into consideration the three stall port-o-potty they wheeled in. The line to use the ladies room was a mile long at all times, and it became necessary to jump into the men's room ( where there was no line whatsoever), but not without being heckled and berated by several drunk men who had an issue with it (yes, on Mother's Day weekend). There should have been a minimum of 10 port o lets on either side to accommodate everyone. It's common sense! The beer and wine was flowing with no limit, so you can just imagine the belegerant people acting a fool. On the flip side of that, we were asked to sit down by someone sitting in chairs behind us on several occasions, despite the thousands of others standing. A friend of mine was told to stop singing because some woman was trying to record and didn't want to hear her - REALLY?! Parking was unheard of, but there is a parking garage under construction, so I don't know if that will solve that issue. As we walked back to our car, by friend was thrilled to find a port o potty by the construction site to use - others went to the Target restroom, because they had to park there. Rick Springfield was my first concert as a teen and I was really looking forward to the evening with my friends, but won't be back if that's what can be expected. I'd rather pay for a ticket than deal with that chaos again! I felt bad for those who brought their children. read more

I came here for a concert with friends one night and was surprised on how large the venue is and the acoustics were outstanding! The security staff were very good and on top of everything in case anything went out of hand or got crazy at the venue. Luckily, nothing happened the night I was at the venue. The selection of food trucks were very good on site, so you had your choice of tacos, ice cream, and alcohol if you wanted to purchase beverages or food at the concert. The stage itself was nice and large enough for patrons to see at a distance. The location was perfect in the heart of Fishers near local restaurants and shops in case you want to grab dinner before the concert. I would recommend this venue to anyone looking to see live music performances in Fishers because it is in the heart of Nickel Plate district and you can see a wonderful live concert for free in the summer. It is worth the effort and time to be in Fishers! read more

Fishers is really a great place to live, and it's been getting better all the time. The amphitheater is conveniently located, with plenty of space to have movies, concerts, and other events. I don't get to go to everything, but when I do, it's generally fabulous. It's definitely been family friendly. The times we went last summer had kiddos playing football on the side if they didn't want to see the show. Friendly people abound, and the cops are present and helpful. We've always been able to get parking nearby. The wider area is still under construction at the moment (2017) which can be frustrating. I wish we still had a train running and hoping they figure out great things to do with the depot area, & tracks. I've always wanted high speed rail going downtown myself. read more

This is a beautiful venue with a great location and it seems very well kept. However, on my first visit last Friday night I was seriously disappointed with my experience. I attended the Houndmouth Mt. Joy concert last weekend and the event was very poorly organized and managed. One alcohol vendor, four food vendors, and six bathrooms were not adequate for the number of people in attendance... I was told roughly 3,500 tickets were sold for this event and I could be wrong but this seems accurate for the large crowd and popularity of the bands. I waited an hour and forty minutes in line for two Miller Lites since those and Coors were the only options left. There were two bartenders who were doing a great job but there was no security or event workers dealing with the line that wrapped around the entire venue area and myself and others began having to fight for our rightful places in line once we were within feet of the bar area. After waiting over an hour I would've expected someone to be controlling the crowd. I ended up getting so frustrated I approached a security guard and asked if he could monitor the line because people were beginning to cut others who had been waiting at least an hour and he told me he didn't know what to do about it and refused to notify anyone else although people were certainly getting aggressive. Although I was very happy to see one of my favorite bands, the long lines deeply diminished the experience. I hope the next visit we pay to the Ampitheater is much more enjoyable and organized. TL, DR; Great venue but the event was disorganized and poorly managed. read more

This past Friday we Funksters took in an end of the summer concert featuring the southern Indiana indie group Houndmouth. And a fine show it was! Back in the day, Jackson Brown sang, "the promoter don't mind, and the roadies don't mind..." but clearly on this evening, the audience was pissed that pee lines were long and beer lines were EPIC. But after all its about the music... not the flow-n-go. So to all you moaners: in the future enter early, get yer beer on in the parking lot and bring an empty gallon jug! Then you can just... Listen to the Music! And shut the heck up... man I am get'en cranky in my old age! read more

Got tickets for the Tonic/Vertical Horizon show on the Friday evening of the Spark Festival. This was my first time at the renovated amphitheater. Pro: food and beer trucks provided a good variety. Pro: there is plenty of space for people to accommodate a large crowd Con: the sound from the stage was subpar. I don't know how much of the system was provided by the bands and how much was provided by the venue. It sounded like the band's were 'overdriving' and the speakers. I was standing right next to the sound board and it just did not sound good. Con: asked a STAFF volunteer at their tent where I could purchase a bottle of water. It was over 90 degrees. The member said "I don't know you can try the trucks.". Maybe there is a contract or something that prevents Fishers or someone to have a tent selling water, but a $1 bottle of water would be nice. I had to wait behind 10 people ordering beers when all I wanted was a water. Con: this is probably more of a commentary on concert goers than the actual venue. Although Fishers bears some responsibility in booking 90's rock bands and going out free tickets. When this happens, of course people who do not know the band's are going to go because it is something to do. Most of the crowd stayed seated throughout the entire Tonic set. The singer from Tonic tried to get the crowd involved but when most people are just there for 'something free to do' it was really tough! I am a stander at shows I go to because I like the band's (especially Tonic) and I am glad I was next to the soundboard because I am sure someone would have asked me to sit. I saw people with really large blankets for only two people so they could lay down. That takes a lot of space and so does the multiple people who brought in personal hammocks, with the stands, at set them up and never got out during the show's. Again- I get it. They were providing something free on the Friday night. I enjoyed the Better Than Ezra show a couple years ago that we paid for because it was fans attending. Again, I get it. I now know that unless it is a show I absolutely can not miss, I should avoid shows there because the overall experience just was not there. If you are someone who just wants to sit and be entertained, then shows here may be good for you. If you really enjoy a band, I imagine standing up front will lead you to being asked to sit down. read more

This is a great location for concerts. It was closed most of the summer, but the last 2 Friday night AMP concerts have been there. I didn't think they could improve the already awesome venue, but they did. The stage is much larger. Every seat is a great view no matter if you bring chairs or sit on a blanket. They have very easy parking behind the stage or in the parking garages. You can walk to many restaurants and get take out as well. We have also been able to eat at the food trucks that come to the concerts. We went to most of the Friday nights shows this year and last. They get some great talent including some bigger acts like Sugar Ray and Smash Mouth. We also had a great time at the Desert Eagles and we saw a great Elton John band. I always look forward to these concerts and the Nickel plate Amphitheater is a great place to host these amazing acts. read more

So I went here for the Houndmouth / Mt. Joy concert. At first I was like wow this place is a really great venue. It's outdoors and a smaller venue which I love especially for bands that are lesser known. You can bring your own chairs and blankets to sit on and kids are allowed as well so as a parent I find that quite appealing. Ticket prices were only $9 so if you can't find a sitter bring the kiddos because it's cheap enough and plenty of room for them to run around. Now for the negatives. I'm not sure how long they have been doing concerts here so that may have something to do with this but they had literally one beer vendor (3 human bodies) selling beer to easily around 2-3k people. You do the math. The beer line was insanity. Over an hour to get beer and then they only allow 2 beverages per transaction. It was unfortunate because the beer vendor could have easily trippled their sales if they had at least 2 more tents set up around the park. The other downfall was that the food trucks (only 3) were set up right by the beer so it was a complete cluster as far as long lines and people not knowing what line they were in or where to stand. My husband and several friends I was with said they would never come back to this venue if it takes that long to get a beer. I mean summer time and live music goes with beer right? So I can't really blame them. Friends of mine also complained about the lack of toilets although I didn't think it was terrible. There were 6 Portos total and then 3 toilets in one of those truck restroom things. I had to wait maybe 5 min for the bathroom so not bad. I guess the fact lines for drinks were so long helped with that because no one had to use the restroom since they had nothing to drink! There is much potential for this place to be a 4 or 5 star venue but they alcohol situation was super diassapointing. No one wants to miss the entire concert just to wait in line for 2 drinks. They need to do better next time. read more

I'm not a three star giver typically, I know that means is A-OK in the yelp world, but I think they still have some kinks to work out. We went for a 92.3 low dough show, excited to see Houndmouth. It was our first time going and we got there right when the gates opened so we could sit wherever we wanted. I loved that we can bring in chairs to sit versus a blanket. We found a spot and admired the amphitheater. This is a beautiful spot! I found my way to the alcohol and ordered a wine and a beer. We had eaten prior to coming, but there were food trucks available. I found the restrooms attached to the amphitheater so I could avoid the portapotties, but by the end of the night, those might have been a better option. We only ended up purchasing one drink the whole night due to the line for the drinks being insanely long. Also, the women's restroom was basically flooded, which was not only gross, but definitely unsafe. I sure hope no one slipped and fell while attempting access. This was a large crowd, possibly larger than they have experienced and so I do hope these are items that are worked out in the future. It could definitely be a deterrent for future concerts otherwise. read more

Went to listen to some bands and they don't allow re-entry which is understanding but it became extremely cold and many wanted to go to there cars and grab jackets. Another thing is the lines for food were at least an hour long and they do not allow outside food or beverages inside. One or the other needs to happen because by time you get to the front of the line what you waited for is now ran out and you just have to stay inside or leave and purchase another ticket. It was not a good first experience there. read more
