I don't even want to give this restaurant the 1 star. If I could give a negative star, that would be my rating. I'm new to the area and I'm trying to find a good BBQ spot. Well bbq is in the name of this restaurant and it was ridiculously bad. I got the Ribs and BBQ Beef Brisket Dinner. Everything was bad except the garlic bread. The baked potato that came with meal tasted like it's been under the burner for over 8 hours. The bbq tasted like they boiled the meat and then slapped it on the grill. I'm officially done with Nick's. I came in for a regular grilled chicken sandwich and got a thin little sliver of chicken that tasted like a Greek marinade (lemon and oregano) instead of actual BBQ. For $11.23 for a combo, I expected a real chicken breast, not a thin slab used for salads. Between the weird food and the communication issues at the counter (I've been overcharged here before), it feels like this place cares more about their gambling machines than the actual kitchen. Save your money and go somewhere that serves a real meal. read more

Ever since they put in those slot machines it seems like the focus is making money off of them and not about making good food.It is a shame because their ribs used to be really good,but not too good my last two times there.I ate at the Tinley Park restaurant and the Burbank restaurant and was disappointed in both.Take out those machines so your only income is the food and I'm sure your food quality will improve big time. read more

I came here today for the first time. We went through the drive-thru and I ordered the May special which is a Poorboy steak sandwich with fries for $6. It sounded like a really good deal, until I bit into the absolutely disgusting sandwich. The poor boy steak sandwich reminded me of a Salisbury steak mixed with some kind of cheap imitation rib meat or something. It was BAD. I also got an instant migraine from eating it. The fries were good. My fiancé ordered the value meal which came with a grilled chicken sandwich, medium drink and he had poppers. The medium drink was a diet Dr Pepper that was extremely watered down and barely drinkable. He said the chicken sandwich was pretty good and he liked the poppers. My last two encounters with nicks BBQ has been poor to say the least. One order was the Grecian rotisserie chicken that was way over cooked and completely dried out. My last order I thought I would try their Buffalo wings. Apparently they made the decision to only serve breaded wings but not indicate that on their menu. I am unable to eat breading nor would I have ordered them had that would have been properly indicated on their menu. When I called they did absolutely nothing. I ordered their store bought catfish I've had better tasting fish sticks. Even the tartar sauce is bland and bad. The Mac & cheese is just elbow noodles with mostly cheese sauce and the bbq baked beans are just beans soaked in bbq sauce. I'd never order from them again. First time ordering here. I got the BBQ Chicken Dinner w/ beans, coleslaw and mashed potatoes. Chicken was good, not dry at all. I liked the coleslaw but was a little too soupy for me. We ordered the half barbecue chicken dinner and when we got home I went to go open the chicken dinner and the breast and wing were burnt to a crisp, the only thing that you could eat was the leg and thigh. The wing was burnt to the point of ashes and as were parts of the breast and the rest was as dry as a bone just like when they open the turkey in Christmas vacation with Chevy Chase... funny but not funny. I can't believe they actually packed that up in a food container and sent it out to a customer. It was really not worth calling them or bringing the dinner back because it would've taken us another 20 minutes and the rest of my family was eating already. My 1st Time here and ordered the rib basket . Came with 3 sides all for under $11. Can't beat the deal . The meal was good but not great . Ribs were good but not fall off the bone(my preference ). The Mac n cheese def not homemade . Glad I tried the place - though not sure I'll come back only bc while waiting for my takeout order, I saw a roach crawling beneath my feet as I was playing the slot machines . I get that they are everywhere but an exterminator is def needed . I go to other places around the area and haven't seen any. So I'm thinking this is an isolated area . I should have looked at yelp first. I ordered a whole side of ribs, garlic bread, fries and Mac and cheese. The whole meal was a let down. It's hard to screw up fries but they were undercooked and mushy. As stated in other reviews the Mac and cheese is disgusting, the garlic bread was a disappointment and the best I can say for the ribs is that they are average. I thought, incorrectly, that because RC Cola was the soft drink vendor here it would be kitschy or ironically amusing. It's an RC Cola restaurant because they serve RC Cola caliber food. read more

Not knowing the menu here, I had a few questions and the girl behind the counter spoke so low, I could only here some of the answers. I had a taste for a beef/sausage combo, but found out that they don't serve sausage here. Also she kept pushing other items, put settled for peppers which was a up charge. The beef sandwich in it self was not bad tasting, but it was fairly greasy tasting. Felt like a needed a box of napkins as I ate the sandwich. I love their baby-back ribs, tender and juicy. The sauce was delicious, tangy and sweet. We had not found a good place for ribs in the Tinley area and tried Nick's. We were very pleasantly surprised. Sort of a sour taste. I have eaten BBQ all over the country and never once smelled or tasted something like this. 3 bites into the sandwich and realized it was disgusting . I just stopped at this restaurant for the first time because I'm working in the area I figured I'd give it a try, I was not impressed would be the nicest thing I could about the food, the service was excellent decent menu prices weren't all that great oh, I did try the ribs and they give you a choice of three different sides, fries were good oh, I have baked beans they were pretty good, the coleslaw is nothing special it actually sort of tastes like something that I bought at Sam's Club so not all that great for a restaurant, my meal cost me $16. This place has gotten so bad! Years ago we would order lunch from here at least once a week. Tuesdays experience was so disgusting you couldn't pay me to eat there again. I approached the counter to order my food ad there was a young blonde girl sitting on a step or crate below the window where the food comes out, eating chips and texting. I stood there for a few minutes and she never even looked at me. Another young girl with brown hair came out and took my order. I was sitting at the booth by the door eating the greasiest curly fries ever (the paper in the basket was SOAKED with grease) and I look over ad the blonde girl picked a maraschino cherry, tilted her head back and ate it. Over priced and bad service. Wanted a double cheese burger, and referred to it as a big baby which is what most places call it. The person at the counter was rude and obnoxious about it and that they do not call it a big baby. I've eaten here 3 times the first time I got the ribs and they were great the sides though were horrible. The next time we went I got the pulled pork and it was decent but I made the mistake of having them put the hot bbq sauce on my sandwich and it ruined the whole thing. The last time we went I got the philly cheesesteak and the steak and huge pieces of fat hanging off it. My family didn't like their meals either. For a neighborhood business, it doesn't get much better than Nicks. The ribs are fantastic and we both love their burgers. We usually eat in and get great service even though it's a place where you order at the counter. The pulled pork sandwich is excellent as well. As for sides, I prefer the fries, curly and French, the half ear of corn, and cole slaw. If you order dinners, you get a choice of three sides. There is nothing Beef about Nicks Beef Ribs. The cook does not know the difference between large Cow ribs and small pork ribs. It might be because he does not speak any English but thats not the worst part they actually cook the PORK AND BEEF RIBS together awwahh I cant believe I aint that food.
