    Ft Worth Ribeye....

This spot is consistent with all TR I've tried save 1. Friendly service, expansive location with more than enough seating. Excellently charred steak with a fresh salad that didn't break the bank. My friend had the fried catfish that was spot on! .. and we don't need to discuss the rolls with cinnamon buttor.sinful.

I usually enjoy my food at TR, so I'll just take this as a lesson learned about this particular dish. I was within the past year introduced to the Catfish at TR while living in Tulsa, OK and we were blown away at how amazingly delicious it was. I mean they are known for steak but they were hitting the catfish out of the park. Fast forward. We have moved back home to the Chicago area and decided to go to TR for the fish. Not only was the whole fillets we were given in Tulsa, now pieces, but the breading was significantly different. You can choose between 3 or 4 fillets for the meal. But, when they brought our meal, they had essentially taken a whole fillet, sliced it in half and are calling that one piece. So, instead of 3 whole fillets of catfish (like in Tulsa) you are getting 1-1/2. The breading was very thin and unseasoned. It was not good at all. I guess we will miss having the catfish at TR and are forced to go back to their delicious steaks because for that price as well, it's not worth it. Oh and when you see the photo I'm attaching also notice the horrible steak fries (also something I don't typically order and will never order again) Please TR do better with the Catfish. It should be the same across the board.

The food and service were pretty good. Always good rolls and butter. Drinks were okay, not very strong. Would come back, if in the area.

I haven't been to a Roadhouse in years. No particular reason, just hadn't stopped by. I had received a voucher for a free meal for Veterans Day and a friend of mine was game to go. So glad we did! We got in 5 min before the big rush. As we sat down I remembered the rolls! It all came back with that scent and taste. Our waiter offered to bring more and pack some away if we wanted. We ordered the shrimp app and it was good and came fast. We were told it was their most requested app so they kept it ready to serve throughout the night. We each ordered the petit filet and was cooked to our liking. My friend raved on the fluffiness of the baked potato. Green beans were okay. Drinks were just okay as well. The atmosphere is lively and the staff seems to really enjoy working there and are friendly. We could see why the parking lot is always full!

We arrived around 4pm for the early bird and seated immediately. Our server was very attentive, checked up on us to see if we need anything else additional rolls were brought out before we were done with our first set. Top notch service. My steak was cooked rare exactly how I asked and was seasoned perfectly. The country fried chicken and salad were also both well received. I will come back to this location again.

Fortunately, it was a Tuesday and I had.reviewed the website to view the menu prior to selecting this restaurant. I noted that there was a Tuesday surf & turf special (8oz filet & 8 oz lobster tail for $56. It wasn't on either the regular menu or the specials list but it was offered. We ordered the oysters Rockafelller which were delicious and 2 surf and turf specials. Both lobster tails were good but my filet was ordered rare but came out medium rare. Our excellent waiter Steve said he would replace it and a new steak came out in about 3 minutes! I was very impressed with the speed of the replacement which was perfect. Nice ambiance, reasonably priced wine list. Excellent dessert list (although we were too full for dessert.). Our meals came with a house salad and large hot baked potato. Note that an 18% gratuity was added as well as a 3.5% credit card or debit card charge (annoying). But overall it was a great meal with great service.

We wanted something other than just burgers again, so I proposed seafood. There didn't seem to be a lot of options in this area, but Dancing Marlin seemed to fit the bill and was pretty close. Before going, we looked at the menu, and there really wasn't anything my little one was going to want on the kids menu - there was no seafood for the kids, not even a basic fish and chips. He saw the lobster rolls appetizer though, and that sold him, so we got in the car and headed down. When we went to order, the waiter told us the only thing they were out of was the lobster rolls, but when we asked about the lobster gnocchi that my other son was about to order, they said they could do that, so I asked to speak with the manager. She explained that they only liked to use big whole pieces of lobster for the lobster rolls, and that is what they were out of, but had the smaller pieces they normally used in the gnocchi dish. I asked if she could do the lobster rolls with the smaller pieces, and she confirmed with the chef so we were back in business. The food was all excellent. I had the seared ahi and it was delicious, but was just a small portion for my liking. The scallops my wife had were delicious, but for $38 it was only 4 scallops. Maybe kids who live around here don't want fish when their parents do, but you should at least have a kids portion of fish and chips, or some fried shrimp on the menu for them. I'm not going to order a $27 fish and chips portion for a little kid, but he also didn't come to just eat chicken nuggets or buttered noodles.

I know it'll be there by my next visit, which will be soon. A seller for me is homemade pasta with an option for gluten free. If it was organic it's a hard 5. No judgement though. Frankie's is the spot where you park up by 3:45/3:50 and wait for the doors to open as their hours are short, hot and sweet. This is a tucked away spot packing tons of flavor on the small menu(major hit). Locals pack this spot asap at the bar so be there by 3:45. Haha. The restaurant has nice decor and attentive friendly service. As the server comes to the table with heavy greetings, they run down the special menu. Drinks are always good, nothing intricate but enough to elevate the experience and hit hard. The appetizers are good. I enjoyed the calamari and shrimp as well as the octopus. But now to the star of the show is their pastas. FRIENDLY REMINDER, all are homemade. The Pappardelle w/ Wide Ribbon Pasta, Black Truffle Cream Sauce and Mushrooms is amazing.. I added the gluten free meatballs and yummy. A savory bite. The rigatoni vodka sauce(added sausage) was a hit. Another star of the table was the Linguine w/ Shrimp,Broccoli, Evoo and Garlic. A fully loaded plate. The Gnocchi w/ Ricotta Cheese Filling, vodka sauce.. added meatballs was another hit. The star of the show was our pizza which resembles a meat lovers with pepperoni, Sopressata and Giardiniera (which is more like a relish and I love). I've had other dishes but after multiple countless visits this is what I love at this time. The pizza is cooked in a high heat oven which gives the perfect char, let it settle for a couple minutes as it sits on the table. Overall, when in this part of Illinois hands down the place to be. Hours are only 4-9pm and that says a lot. My only insight would be ask for the bread to be served warm. I'm sure a fresh loaf in the pizza oven for a couple of minutes will go a long way. ENJOY!
