Terrific and extremely convenient little dairy mart which features any kind of snack you can think off, from cookies to candy, sodas, ice cream and they even have a deli section where you can get cold cuts, various salads and some pretty tasty mac-n-cheese! I've been going there for years since my uncle & aunt live down the road, every time I visit. When I was alone in their house for a couple of days I used this place as my main food headquarters and their staff was very friendly. Driving home from NYC and needed to grab a quick bite. Saw this place, looked it up on yelp before I went in and thought I would give it a shot. Small deli/market. I had a buffalo chicken hard-roll with bacon. They stacked so much meat in it I could have made a couple sandwiches. It was so good. They actually put the bacon in between some of the meat. This may. This place is so poorly managed. They try to open at 6am but that depends on how drunk they got the night before. If you order a sandwich expect them to crush it before they give it to you. Soups are leftovers in a pot. The girl that is at the register will not wear a mask at all. Never seen her wear gloves and the most unpleasant person. I come here everyday for lunch, as I work right across the street. The staff are all very friendly and the selection is really unexpectedly vast and all very tasty. I usually get 2 or 3 chicken cutlets with a side of mashed potatoes or one of the many other selections like rice with vegetables, mac and cheese, or a wide variety of different pastas/vegetables. This usually all comes to under $10. The selection of drinks and snacks is also very good and fairly priced. While the food is very decent, the workers have terrible hygiene. I used to stop in for a turkey sandwich or even a piece of chicken ( overpriced) but one day the woman ringing me up had her finger up her nose. One guy said in Spanish is there a line and the gut behind the counter said, no don't worry about it. Now he took all 5 workers orders. I just bought a soda, and told the girl at the counter. Amazing Cheesecake with 5 Star presentation Our Wedding was on October 16 of last year at The Water's Edge at Giovanni in Darien, CT. I asked Dan (the owner's son) to make their famous NY Cheesecake for my husband (as a groom's cake). This cheesecake is a childhood memory for my husband and his family. So I thought it would be an amazing touch to incorporate this in our dessert options for our guests. The result was my husband got a 4-tier NY Cheesecake with strawberries around the bottom tier (and a Ford Mustang cake topper that I picked up). Additionally, they provided 3 additional cheesecakes for our dessert table. Dan drove all the cakes the morning of our wedding, from Armonk, NY to Darien, CT. As a bride, I never had to worry about Dan delivering this surprise for my husband - I knew he had it all covered! The place is surface clean but it is really a dirty place to eat. The breakfast food tastes like greasy fried stuff and if you ask for an egg and cheese it tastes like bacon because they don't clean the grill before making your food. Also, take a look at their ice maker for iced drinks. I knelt down to scoop ice into my cup and saw the ice mechanism that the water passes thru to make the ice was all black mold. If you google the deli name and health department you will find they have an expired health permit and there were many violations including it being dirty etc. Simply put - gross. read more

I often pull off 684 on my way North just to stop at Nick's and buy dinner for my husband and myself (usually on nights when it is MY turn to make dinner)! Last week I was lucky enough to stop on a night when their incredible meatloaf was one of the specials. I walked out with the meatloaf/gravy, sweet potato slices with sage and sautéed mushrooms. It was so good that my husband asked me to call Nick's the next day and request that THEY give ME a call on the nights that they make the meatloaf!! I HIGHLY recommend Nick's, especially on those days that a wonderful home-cooked meal is just what the doctor ordered but you simply do not have the energy to cook! The hot food is full of flavor, fresh and immaculate. The Prime Rib is fantastic. I never seen this before but their steam table doesn't have steam, No water. It's a sealed stainless glass display case that keeps the food hot but not open to the general public or open to the atmosphere until one of the workers is preparing your order. I like this as the food is in a nice clean environment & stays fresh & hot. I stop by there any time I am in the area. read more
