Bacon eggs cheese on toasted bun

5.10.25 @ 1030: Great restaurant! The food, atmosphere, service were most enjoyable. We ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches, French toast, omelette, hash browns, toast and my boys had vanilla ice cream for dessert. Our waitress was extremely attentive and kind. Thank you so much. Glad we stopped by.

I stopped in for lunch on Wednesday at 11:45 am and the place was packed. The place looked clean and kept up. I sat at an open table and my server came right over, took my drink order, and gave me a menu. The menu was large and will have something for everyone. When she returned, I asked her preference of the hot sandwich platters and she said they sell more turkey than anything else, so I ordered that. It also came with a bowl of soup, and I chose cream of mushroom. My soup promptly arrived, and I noticed there were a lot of carrots and I'm not used to seeing that in cream of mushroom soup. You could tell right away this was made in house. It had chucks of mushrooms and carrots. I thought there were too many carrots by the looks of it, but it was perfect. Really good soup. My meal came right after I was finished with my soup, and it looked good. The gravy was a bright yellow and looked tasty. It was a little bland, so I added salt and pepper, and everything was fine. I would eat here again, I thought it was a good value and the service was very good.

I love a good breakfast so I'm glad we found Nick's. This cozy place has a large variety of breakfast items at good prices. The little place hops on the weekend but we were able to sit down and be serviced right away. I ordered a 1/2 order of biscuits and gravy and a 1/2 order of French toast. The gravy was good but definitely not the best I've had. It needed more sausage and the flavor was a little odd - in my opinion. I'm not sure I would order it again. The French toast was yummy! Cooked just right, thick bread, and golden brown. I really enjoyed it. I would order this again. When visiting the area, I would return to Nick's for breakfast! And I would recommend to others.

The snails were a little chewier than I had in France, but that's to be expected. The way the little layer of puff pastry soaked up the garlic butter more than made up for it. The cheese was the icing on the cake, er, snails. The walleye was some of the best I've ever eaten. It was perfectly cooked, and a real treat. It had loads of flavor, a touch of heat and was absolutely delicious. I loved the Tortino! It wasn't a big dessert, but it didn't need to be. Big on chocolate flavor and the hazelnuts were a delightful additon.

We had the whole roasted Russian River Trout and Teriyaki beef tips. Started with the warm marinated olives. I'm very objective and have to say the trout was the most superb meal I've had this year away from home. I had to ask how they sourced the fish because I was amazed at how clean, fresh, and flavorful it was. We are both lifelong foodies and skilled cooks so the whole dish service was exciting and not commonly done. The staff were also handling a wedding on the rooftop, but service was excellent regardless. Our waitress really listened to everything we said and ensured our food was served as we preferred. I was also pleased that we're were able to move to an acceptable table away from foot traffic. I would have been bumped on repeat otherwise with the wedding guests coming down. I hope the couple and guests had a great experience as well! Forgot to congratulate them. So happy to finally give 5 stars! Keep up this tempo VT.

This is my third visit, and although my eggs last time were overcooked, (could of been the way I ordered) I've never had a bad breakfast here yet. This time, I wasn't as hungry, so I just had oatmeal with raisins and walnuts. Their coffee is a regular Joe, and they also have an old-school cappuccino machine. The service is always sweet and simple, and just remember to take your ticket to the cashier to pay.

When you walk in there is a very comfortable ambiance with very nice decor, updated woodwork, light fixtures and historic pictures/ photos of Port Huron or nautical views. There are many large spacious booths (6 smaller adults could easily fit) and tables as well, which look new but classic diner touches with silver molding/ trim. The staff were very friendly, hospitable and personable giving honest feedback for our choices as 1st time patrons. The coffee was delicious and the mugs had a good feel in the hand. I enjoyed the Country Fried Steak and my over medium eggs were perfectly cooked and delicious on their sourdough toast. Hash browns were buttery and had nice crisp to them. My friend had the Country Benedict and also enjoyed her meal very much. While the country gravy had ample bits of sausage and was plentifully served, it was a tad too thick for me personally; though our server said it was one of their best dishes. There was parking in the street in front the morning we went, not sure of additional parking options. The entrance is on the corner with 2 doors to get in, the door we used had a small step up and I believe the 2nd door may be more accessible for people with mobility challenges. Inside was spacious and his/ hers 1 seater restrooms that could accommodate mobility equipment (wheelchairs or walkers). Pricing was 2/4 $$, and appropriate for the high quality homemade meals you'll enjoy. We were even able to get coffee to go and enjoyed during our drive home to Dearborn! I highly recommend Maria's for a great experience and will definitely be back!
