Ordered a beautiful couch from them, a year ago... waited on a part of the couch to come out of backorder, kept on being told "yes, it's coming", "yes, we are on top of it", "yes, more will be in stock soon" --- Got tired of all the empty promises, and the hope.... and cancelled my order and was promised a full refund, its been almost 2 weeks now and still no refund has been delivered to my credit card. 2 weeks!? I kept going back hoping for good news. Nick would get on the phone and it seemed like he was talking to someone. it was done, but couldn't find what truck it was on, or when it would arrive. Finally I went in November and cancelled and he supposedly credited my account. I kept checking my credit card statements. Late January I printed December and January statements out. I went with my sister and just matter of fact told Nick that I had statements from December and January statements and the money wasn't returned. I want my chair! I have never been so disappointed and frustrated with a company. My boyfriend and I bought a bedroom set labor day weekend that was supposedly in stock in their Chicago warehouse - the salesman made a grand show of saying it would be 2 weeks, no problem (which we had before with furniture being delayed with them) dont worry, its in stock. Of course, it was not delivered in 2 weeks because it was NOT in stock. I called, and they said they would call back and didn't. I texted, and they said sorry we will get back to you and didn't. I texted again days later and finally was given an end of October ETA. October ends and nothing. I contacted them several times for an update at this point. I was told sorry, we will update you shortly, then nothing. Contacted again, same thing. Contacted again, no response. FINALLY, they promised to call (this is now Thanksgiving time), and it seemed like they left a voice-mail a day or two later. I'm unsure what number they called from because my phone determined it was spam, and the voice-mail was flagged as such. Thankfully, my boyfriend called, and they agreed to cancel the order, saying we would get an email confirmation. Of course, we didn't. It was now December. I texted again, twice, and was ignored. My boyfriend had a series of phone calls with them, which led nowhere, so he finally drove there and walked in. He was given a cancelation invoice but told there are no refunds only store credit. The owner is the one who my boyfriend talked to on the ohkne and in person, and the guy barely gave him the time of day, just here's the invoice, no refunds, only store credit. Apparently, customer service is not important to this place at all. My boyfriend is from the area, and we wanted to shop at a local small business, but it sure backfired. Clearly, we didn't read reviews or would have seen the warnings. I'm in complete and utter shock that we would be treated so poorly and refused a refund after their complete lack of communication. This is how Nick's Furniture treats their customers. After almost 6 months of waiting I was told I have a 10:30am-12:30pm delivery window. I had to take that time off work to meet them at my home! At 12:25 I called and was told they are in my parking lot ummm no they aren't and I have to go back to work. I told Julie I'd leave the front door open so they can just lay it inside since they are 3mins away. At 1:44pm the delivery driver says he's 13mins away???? What??? You were in my parking lot an hour and a half ago. I also said Julie told me you guys would leave it inside since you were so late. Drivers knew nothing about that conversation. Then I'm told we didn't pay for installation again yes I did considering I live alone. They again said no and then said we'll what do you want me to do about it???? You tell me I took off and waited at the specific time and no one showed nor did anyoycall and tell me anything but lies. So while I'm on the phone with some man at Nicks explaining what happened he says well I guess I'll call the delivery guys and make them turn the truck around and have them install it! So this is my fault??? I paid for it and took off work for people that never showed and never spoke to the delivery drivers. So this is how my couch was left in my front yard on a busy road and it's my fault! Never dealt with such arrogant and rude people in my life! I would not Rex this place to anyone EVER! So as I am writing this the delivery guys have still not come back and my brand new furniture is sitting in my yard unreal it's been another hour of waiting! Update: I love how defensive the owner is and no your self proclaimed professional movers did not move my couch in they left it in the hallway on the floor after ruining it! They claimed it would not fit closed the door and threw my pillows unwrapped on the front porch! Let's tell the truth! There are scratches all along the bottom of the couch that they unwrapped after scolding me for telling the manager how they acted towards me! They also attempted to take the dry wall screws out and instead separated the wood which at that point decided oh we can't get it in! Oh and used my drill and screwdriver! Professional movers must not carry tools! Your statements are once again untrue! My husband and his friend had the couch in the house via same hallway in less than 5mins and they are not professional movers maybe you should hire them. Scam, fraud alert. I e been waiting 26 weeks for furniture that was supposed to arrive in 3-5 weeks. They give zero update and a run around that they will call back with a status or solution and they never call. If you try and cancel they threaten with a cancellation fee Updating: Furniture finally delivered, took about 6 months total. We had to be the one to call out for updates. Nick's furniture unfortunately is not offering anything for customer loyalty for waiting. No discounts on delivery, order, or future purchases. Not a cup of coffee, not a nickel. When you call their office, the employees have been dealing with so many complaints that all you'll receive is a souless apology, and zero real clarification on the status of your order or what they plan to do about it. I think that's my biggest gripe, they made it feel like they were just sitting on their butts. There was zero sense of urgency from my pov, nor was there any sense of loyalty to the customer My one star remains not for the situation, I get that supply chain issues and reliable drivers are very disruptive for this company. My one star remains because of how this entire situation was handled. Numerous false promises. I'm confident that they're still selling furniture with false delivery dates to secure revenue. Expect to have to consistently follow up with false delivery dates as their response just so you hang up and leave them alone for a few weeks. My assumptions in what may have went wrong: They have like no inventory on hand or local suppliers. I think what's happening is you place your order, then Nicks furniture then calls their manufacturer once they have a large enough order to justify the shipping cost. Similar to when your furniture finally arrives in the U.S.. My hunch is yes, it is hard to find good drivers right now, but also, they are not shipping anything to you until there is a critical mass of furniture to be shipped in your area. So you furniture will sit in a warehouse for weeks even though it's in the U.S. and there's nothing you can do about it. read more

Do not to business with Nick. He is currently on the BBB watch list and is avoiding his more than dozens of complaints. Check out the complaints on the BBB web site. We had to wait 7 months for our bedroom set, which was supposed to be 2 to 3 months. We were without a bedroom set for 4 months while we waited. When it finally arrived, we ask for compensation and he only offered $200 on a $5000 order. He never tried to call us on the status of our order and was not very professional. Once our order was delayed till October, 7 months after ordering with October still being an estimate, we decided to try our luck else where. The initial cancellation was very easy and I even received a confirmation email a week later with a date for my refund. Here we are a week past the refund date, I've called multiple times with my first call a message was supposed to be given to the manager and I'd get a call back but still no word! My phone calls are now going to voicemail. I emailed the company about the situation and now my emails aren't being responded to. Nick Furniture is a scam if you let them do it.  I paid in full on August 28th 2023 for a furniture set that was no problem to get according to Nick Bumba (OWNER) himself ...he told me he sells thousands of this set an it would be delivered to us 6 to 8 weeks.  Time goes by and no communication or status updates nothing.  So, I called about 6 weeks in to check status. I got the other complete moron Demetris, he will tell you what you want to hear .... basically, all lies and his personality is of a 6-month-old dead moth ...complete useless idiot!!!  Their phone rings once and goes to a texting center.  What you could say in 5 minutes over the phone becomes 4 hours with the text if they respond. You will start to feel helpless, because Nick Bumba has your money and will not communicate with you.  Short version after all the empty promises, LIES, and totally BS you end up with no goods and stressed out!! I tried for weeks to get my refund for goods and warranty ....and Nick gave every excuse from I'm not in the office to my grandma is sick.  I had to thread-in him that I was going to depute charges to my bank.  He would not give me a receipt showing the order was cancel and being processed for full refund.  I finally got the furniture refund, but no warranty refund.  This guy is scam artist in training ...a real piece of crap.  His word is garbage. Merchandise was great but, being refunded for returned items was an absolute joke-I actually to file a dispute with my CC company to get my $ back (& I waited several weeks & gave them numerous opportunities to refund me before I went down that route). We had a poor experience with wait times last time we purchased from Nick's Furniture but after seeing a few Facebook ads for their specials we decided to give them another try. They have a sign on their door about following the covid-19 guidelines and every customer in the building was doing so but their owner and employees were not following their guidelines and were interacting with customers without masks. Avoid at all cost! I ordered a simple area rug and a dining room table with 6 chairs and a bench . The table arrived on time, however, I was told the area rug was still on its way. Not a huge problem, just slightly inconvenient. I did a quick inspection and things seemed okay. It was, of course, only after the delivery people left that I did some closer inspecting and noticed defects on two of the chairs. (As well as the shotty job of attaching the crewmember to the legs... see picture) They had me bring the chairs back to the store. To keep this review brief, it took Nick's Furniture almost a year to find two chairs that weren't damaged. They said they would call when the replacement chairs came in, but every time I was the one calling to check on the status. Everytime the chairs came in I had to drive back to the store and look at them. I think it took 4 times driving back to the store to actually take home chairs without issues. You think they could have looked them over for damage to save me the time... nope! Talk about horrible customer service!!! As far as the area rug goes, after checking on the status multiple times over an entire year, it never arrived! Needless to say I asked for a refund. Do yourself a favor and don't be sucked in by some seemingly good deals, the service is horrible and the furniture doesn't last. I am very surprised to see some of the negative reviews, my experience was phenomenal especially compared to my dealing with another furniture store. Last November(2021) I ordered a sectional from another furniture place, after waiting 9 long months with delay after delay and excuse after excuse from the other store I decided to cancel that order and look elsewhere. A friend had recommended I check out Nick's Furniture. Nick's ended up having the perfect sectional and it was in stock. I dealt with a sales person named Demetrius, he was pleasant to deal with and helpful in answering all my questions and not pushy in any way, perfect customer experience. I purchased the sectional last Thursday and it was delivered five days later on the following Tuesday, free delivery I might add. The prices were fair as well. This isn't heirloom quality furniture that is going to last 100 years but it appears to be well enough built and stylish, similar to what you'd find at a place like Ashley, perfect for use in our finished basement. When my husband and I first walked in no one else was there. The gentleman running the store, walked right past us and barely responded to my "Hi, how are you?" After we looked around, he did finally ask us if he could help us with anything. When we told him what we were looking for, he just pulled out catalogs for us to look through. He then proceeded to just be on his phone at the desk. He was pretty disengaged. We left fairly quickly, and honestly probably wouldn't have bought furniture even if we had seen something we liked. Being personal, friendly, and helpful to your customers goes a long way. We honestly felt like we were a bother by just being in the store. DO NOT DEAL WITH NICK! YOU WILL NEVER SEE YOUR FURNITURE! We inquired about a $3,000+ sectional in January 2023 and was told there would be a 10-12 week delivery time. Later when we placed the order on January 20th, we were told the delivery date could be up to 16 weeks (May 4, 2023). We inquired about the status of the order on March 16th and was told that we would be notified as to the order status after speaking with the manufacturer. We were then notified that the order was scheduled to finish production in early April. April came and went--no furniture. May came and went--no furniture. On June 2nd we sent a text message requesting an update on the order. Nick's response stated that the order is estimated to ship from the manufacturer at the end of the month (June). We requested an update on June 27th and was told we would be receiving an update--never received one from Nick. On July 1st we told them that we were still waiting for an update and their response was that the order would be completed the following week. On July 12th, we sent another text asking for an update. Their response was they were waiting for confirmation of shipping from the manufacturer. On July 24th we sent a text for an update and they replied, "Not yet, but we will contact them today." We texted them on July 28th and their response was that the carrier will be picking up the order next week. When asked if this was "an absolute on picking up the order?" the response was, "Yes, per Nick." On the August 3rd, we requested for an update and we were told that the order would be at Nick's warehouse the week of August 21st. On August 23rd we texted, "Have you a delivery date?"--NO RESPONSE! On August 25th, we visited Nick's showroom and asked for a refund. We were told, "No refund could be given from here." NO FURNITURE, NO MONEY! read more

If ZERO stars was an option, that's what I'd give, one star is too much! DO NOT purchase from Nick's Furniture. We purchased furniture in November. We never received an email stating a delivery date. I emailed Nick's Customer Service and after a day I received a response saying that I would get delivery information that evening. Three days later, I finally received an email with no valid information regarding delivery. (Fully understanding that Covid was affecting delivery dates) I commented on Facebook and finally got a reply through my email and received text messages each week with a different delivery date (again, understanding Covid would affect delivery dates). Our delivery dates went from January, to February, to March several weeks in a row and then the week I was expecting the delivery, we received a text saying it would be April. I emailed Nick's customer service on 3.3.21 to cancel the order since it was absolutely ridiculous that the date changed after being March for so long. I received a call from Nick who informed me that miraculously my couch had arrived that afternoon. He told me I would be on the delivery schedule on Monday or Tuesday. On Monday, 3.8.21, I called to inquire where my furniture was. Nancy told me my furniture was NOT in. I explained that Nick informed me it was. She called Nick and surprise, it was there, even though she physically did not see it there. She put me on the schedule for delivery on Tuesday, 3.9.21. Paul, the delivery man literally put my couch on my front stoop. I asked if the couch would fit and his exact words were "You will be able to get it in through the door." Shocked, I said, "You don't bring it in?" He said he was not allowed to cross the threshold. I asked him to deliver it to my garage which he nicely did. When the first piece was in the garage, I looked at it. It was the WRONG item. He called Nick, who then called me. Nick told me this was what I ordered, and I assured him it was not. I ordered a linen couch and loveseat and this was more of a fleece, and not the same color. Nick said he hoped there was not a glitch in the system. I told him I was refusing the delivery since it was the wrong items, and he had Kevin (our original salesman) send me over couches that would be in stock. My original item I was told would NOT be in stock until June. None of Kevin's in stock items compared, so I sent an email to cancel. Nick called me again, and my husband returned a call and spoke to Nancy who informed him a refund was going to be processed. I finally got the refund, 9 days later and it's short $300. Nick informed me that there was a restocking fee, however, we should not be held responsible for a restocking fee of an item we did not order. I will continue to pursue this until we receive a full refund. DO NOT PURCHASE from Nicks Furniture. Nick is a liar and will tell you something is in stock when it's not. I wish I could have good news for all of you I have been responding to. After much back and forth with Nick, he finally gave us a refund but he kept $340!!!! That's three hundred and forty dollars in his pocket and we have nothing. Can you imagine! How does he sleep at night. When we got our sofa, the one in his showroom we ordered was rust color, and the one delivered was brown. However the same VIN number appeared. So he did pick it up several days later...we got store credit...but many trips later, didn't find anything. I registered complaints with many websites except Consumer Fraud Division, which is next. He even told Capital One we had possession of the sofa on Jan. 28, and he had picked it up in December. Refused to give me the paperwork which Capital One requested. Then told BBB that the VIN numbers matched but didn't tell them the the dye lot was different. I even sent photos! Someone recommended a class action suit. After nearly 3 months of having to initiate any and all dialogue about our order ETA which kept getting pushed further and further back, we opted to cancel our order. Once again, documentation of our cancellation and pertinent information regarding our refund ETA had to be initiated by us. Two and a half weeks later, after additional communication initiated on our part to inquire, we finally received our money. We were repeat customers of this small business. Our first and last experiences with them could not have been more polar opposites. I'm a reasonable person who has worked in customer service and retail positions over the years. I understand retailers such as this are at the mercy of the manufacturers, by way of available stock. The irony is, we would have been happy customers, despite the wait, if Nick's Furniture had simply communicated with us about the delays proactively along the way. It would have given us faith that they valued our patronage and that our hard-earned money was in the right hands. My husband and I went to Nick's Furniture to buy living room furniture on February 7th, 2017. We spent a good amount of time there, and we decided on a living room set. We spent 3,000 dollars, and paid it in full with our debit card. Nick assured us we would receive our sofa and loveseat on February 14th or 15th. He said we would receive a call on Monday from his delivery guys to set up a time for the 14th or 15th. Monday came and went with no call. My husband called Nick on Tuesday, and and Nick told my husband we would get a call the following morning (Wednesday, the 15th), when the delivery guys were on their way. No call came on Wednesday. I called Nick that afternoon at around 3pm, saying we still don't have our furniture. He had the gall to tell me my husband misunderstood him yesterday, and that we would get a call to set up a time for later in the week. I shrugged it off, but I didn't appreciate him lying to me. He told me we would get a call later the same day to set up the time. Never got the call that day. We got a call on Thursday morning for our sofa and loveseat to be delivered on Friday. Two days late, but okay, things happen. We were just happy to finally have our living room furnished. The delivery men showed up at around 1pm, in a shady truck and our furniture was wrapped in nasty old blankets. They dropped our furniture off and left before we could inspect it. Turns out the furniture was damaged. It is very clearly defective. We have crooked stitching and holes and scratches in the leather on both pieces. We called Nick's furniture right away, and Nick showed up at our door about an hour later. He took some photos and he said he has a guy who can make our furniture look new. What? Sorry, I thought I bought new furniture? I was so flabbergasted, I didn't even speak up. He left saying he would be in touch. My husband and I discussed that we really don't feel comfortable with the repair. We decided we would wait for Nick to call back, expecting he would call soon, and tell him we really would like new furniture in undamaged condition. Eleven days pass, and not a single word from Nick. We were supposed to have our coffee table and end tables last week, so of course we called on Friday when we didn't receive any kind of call. We called, and of course the sales person tells us it's delayed and they'll be delivered next week (week of the 27th). We called Nick today, on February 28th. He told us the tables are going to be delayed another week. We asked about getting new furniture or exchanging our damaged furniture for something else, but he said the only thing he can offer is to repair the furniture. When did it become okay to pay thousands of dollars for damaged furniture? He prides himself on great customer service and quality furniture, but I'm afraid I'm just not seeing it. The most he said he can do is see if he can expedite the repair and maybe the tables. I have a hard time believing this is all he can do, seeing he's the owner of his own business. **update** My credit card was finally credited on 12/8/20. I am not sure if my complaining in a review helped (no one from the store called or texted me back. I simply noticed a credit) but I do appreciate Nick finally keeping his word. read more

Put in an order for a sectional, ottoman, bed, and mattress.. and it has been a sour experience. Ordered the mattress mid June and still don't have. I understand manufacturer hiccups, but the lack of customer service has been super disappointing. Let's start by saying.. when you call their number their automated system tells you to text for fastest response if your checking on the status of your order - that could not be more wrong. We've been in the dark on the status of our order many times. Pay a few thousand dollars and can't get a clear response on when your new ETA is. With each ETA that comes and goes I, the customer, am the one that has to reach out. Looks like many suffer this according to other reviews left on here or Google. There were points in the summer where there would be no response to calls or texts. I almost thought they were screening my number! For our mattress.. a couple examples from recent: 8.19 was told ETA would be for the next week (8/23) - no update, I had to reach out 9/11 They responded 9/12 (was over slightly 24 hours.. that's better than in the summer, progress.. good) and gave 9/21 ETA - then no update, I went to the showroom 10/1. It's 5 mins away so I figure I could have someone give it to me straight there.. ..Nick said it was showing ETA as 10/5. Said someone would call me by Fri 10/2. I had to text at end of day Fri 10/2. Was told "scheduled to load on truck tomorrow" A guy calls me today (10/6).. "we don't know the ETA, may be this week.. may be next week". I mentioned how frustrating this has been and that I didn't want to leave any reviews online during this time in hopes things get better, but now I may need to. His response? "You can leave your reviews". I told the guy on the phone sorry for my wrath and he chuckled (I realized haven't talked to this poor gentleman in the 4 months I've had correspondence with them) and said he gets it all the time. I said I'd like Nick to give me a call.. the employee says, "He's in his office, I'll put a note on his desk and he will call you today, or maybe tomorrow." As I type an edit to this at 4:30 10/7, still no call from Nick. It's been a rough few months for our $3000 order. They made deliveries to us in the summer that were missing pieces or broken. Happens. But with no response when we received damaged furniture, we were left to load it in the pickup and drive it to their showroom! A simple call or text back (I believe over 48 hours went by) could've spared that. Wanted to support a local business but they've made that incredibly difficult. Looks like the terrible customer service has been noted as of late on Yelp by others that have had the same issues. I just feel like once they have your money, customer service goes out the window, and that is not the type of place I want to return to. This review was written on 10/6/20. I ordered a dresser and two night stands. I called every day after wanting to cancel cause I couldn't afford it. They wouldn't answer the phone or email until I complained on Facebook. At that point they said they wouldn't cancel or refund cause it was in route. They would exchange it after I asked. I gave them the item I was interested in and still haven't heard back. Poor customer service and they just want your money! Stay away! I'm going to probably report them to the BBB. read more

After seeing several people post about what a great experience they had with Nick's Furniture, I decided to buy bedroom furniture from them. I realize that during the pandemic that there may be delivery issues. I completely understand and expect that. The disappointing part of this experience for me is the lack of communication from the store. They send texts immediately after you order and when delivery time rolls around.....crickets. It's like pulling teeth to get a response. I finally received a text that the tentative delivery would be Sept. 24th. I have not heard from them since even after sending 2 messages and an email. Not very professional! I have no idea what to expect when they do decide to deliver. I do know that I probably won't do business with them again in the future! read more

I recently had a dresser delivered to my apartment. I had paid for 'white glove' service and it was anything but that. Two delivery men arrived wearing no masks and then proceeded to complain about the stairs they had to get the dresser up. I had let them know I was on the second floor before hand and PAID more for them to deliver it. While they were assembling the dresser one of the men was on Snapchat playing it so loud. The other one asked to use the bathroom which I would have been fine with but he had no mask. Clearly, he isn't too concerned with keeping the paying customers safe.
