Shhh. Don't tell anyone but if you are looking for a great happy hour and terrific service go to Bricco Bracco. Their happy hour menu is from 4-7 and had so much to choose from. It's definitely the way to go if you want to try lots of different plates from salads to pastas at such a reasonable price. We sat at the bar and wined down after a crazy work week and enjoyed some comfort Italian food. Holly ,our bartender, was one of the best we have experienced in such a long time. Very attentive and so nice. All our dishes we tried were fantastic from a Caesar salad, a caprese dish, meatballs, and the vodka penne that we added shrimp to. Chicken parm I just had was about the 20th time I had it here it is perfect tasty delicious cooked just right nice and juicy don't know what else to say. I also avoid the pasta and get a side of spinach and garlic and oil also done perfectly. The garlic is browned it's just outstanding. Sit at the bar because Holly is the best. The whole experience was great as we got to try a lot of small plates. Everything besides the pasta dishes seem to made in front of you as one of the staff, wish I had her name, makes the salads and other dishes and serves it right to you. She was fun to watch and she took pride in delivering nicely presented food. But Holly is a star. We watched as she took care of all her customers at the long bar. Very attentive so much we didn't want to leave. Had a couple pineapple/vodkas shaken on ice and they were done perfectly with a nice froth. Pasta in vodka sauce came warm and we loved soaking up the sauce with their bread. Salads were great and the caprese was very tasty. Next time we will order some dessert. read more

This restaurant has a large dining area and a large bar area as well. Food quality was mediocre. Towards the end of our meal, we saw a palmetto bug (cockroach) crawling on the panel next be to my chair. We called the server and she used her feet to kick the bug off the panel. We had a mediocre experience here a few years ago but today was the opposite. Plenty of great tasty food, a nice affordable wine, and very friendly service. We were seated immediately and had our wine and salad in probably less than 10 minutes. Waitress Angela was great, chef was friendly and chatted with us for a moment. I rarely leave bad reviews, but this experience was just awful. The pasta in my dish wasn't even cooked -- literally raw. The calamari had zero flavor, like they've never even heard of salt or pepper. Out of the four dishes we ordered, only one was decent. The service was painfully slow and completely inattentive. On top of all that, the place looks like a run-down pizza joint -- dark, outdated, and honestly kind of depressing. Definitely won't be coming back. read more

Based on my last experience at Bricco Bracco - 8 year ago - my wife almost had to drag me back, However based on her excellent recent order. She claimed it was the best meal she ever had there. I ended up going back. The best way to describe my most recent experience is OK. The bartender was very busy and initially hard to get her attention. With that said things improved greatly when she had the time to take a breath. She did a great job and is one hell of the bartender. Now for the food. Again is was OK. The beet salad was slightly overdressed but had a great taste. I would try it again. The pasta on the main course was over done and the vodka sauce was a little thin. Good taste and I would give it another try. Now for the head shaking moment...One of the servers was carrying the drink straws neatly tucked in her Bra. (management fixed the problem). Attempted to go for happy hour because we've heard so many praises. The problem is the lack of seating. We got there at a reasonable time but the bar was full. A few people were paying but still socializing. We were going to wait for a seat but after 15 minutes the bartender still didn't acknowledge us. Don't know what happened but we were there a few weeks ago and walked out. Something changed with ownership or management or oversight but the Resturant was not clean. Sticky floors and entrance appeal was sour. Upon entering the restaurant there are a disarray of stuff pulled in a corners. One of the best happy hours I have ever been to in my life! We arrived at 4:30 pm and the 30 or so seat bar was already full. I walked and I lowered the median age of the clientele by about 20 years. $4 house red blend, it was fantastic. They gave us a huge bowl of Parmesan, now I don't know if it was the most sanitary way to do it but there was so much that is it looked like snowfall on the roof of a house! $2 for house baked bread and olive oil with all the parm, great way to start. Then we split the Bricco Bracco Chopped Salad with field greens, Italian meats, cucumber, tomato, olives, red onion, and fresh mozz. Super fresh and refreshing. Our entree was the Chicken Giambotta. Chicken breast with sweet Italian sausage, peppers, onions, mushrooms, hot and sweet vinegared peppers, and fried Yukon gold sliced potatoes. I'm a sucker for those kinds of peppers, especially with all that oil and garlic. It just makes you feel so good and side, you know? I felt like there wasn't a ton of meat in the platter, or maybe we just took too much too soon. But wasn't long before we had just potatoes and peppers to finish. And the people were so cool. One guy was from Germany that has been living in Charleston for a while now, I would say it was much more locals than tourists, and that was nice for a change. Just one knock that I have to mention. There were a decent amount of fruitflies in the bar. While I loved the food and atmosphere, one star has to go due to cleanliness. Please make sure the place stays clean! read more

First before even coming to the restaurant I called to see if they could accommodate my dietary restrictions, Heather was super helpful on the phone and really solidified our choice to come here.
