I was happy with the work that was completed, but…read moreunfortunately there was one small job for a kitchen repair that was estimated as part of the total job that did not get completed within the time allotted. I didn't mention it in my earlier review because I was assured that we would be a priority for a return visit to complete the three hour job. However, after two weeks I had not heard back so I reached out and I was informed that it was unlikely they would be able to return before the holidays to complete the job and I was scheduled for the earliest time available which is the end of January! Four months from now! And unfortunately the repair is in my kitchen which is why I want it completed before the holidays. I don't think it was too much to expect a return visit within a shorter period of time for an uncompleted job....especially one that I was told would only take 3 hours. And I also find it hard to believe that they are unable to carve out 3 hours in the next four months. So keep this in mind if you choose Handy Randy. This is not the only scheduling issue I've had with them. My original estimate was done in March 2026 with a schedule for the job of June 2026. When June came around, I called to confirm and it turned out the administrator had neglected to add our job to the calendar! So they had to reschedule my job to Sept 2026. Now they are saying Jan 2027 to complete the work! So bottom line....the work is good, but the administration of the scheduling leaves a lot to be desired.

When he texted me, I let him know that I'd chosen someone else. He apologized for being slow to respond and being abrupt in his texts (they were testy) and asked if we could start over. I told him it wasn't an issue, but I'd truly booked someone else. Then he started complaining that he was getting attacked by AI and it was a crime, and it was hard to know if potential clients were real. I said I was real, and he must not have have put my voicemail and my email together. Then he asked me again for my name and city so that he could put it together. At this point, it was getting ridiculous, but I complied, I was trying to help the guy out, and get off his list. Then he starts cussing at me. I blocked him. What a jerk. I'm telling you, I was never anything but kind and helpful to him, the only thing I did "wrong" was ask him for a custom quote (which he never gave me, because he clearly still had no idea what work I'd asked him to do - he only gave me his 3 hour minimum shtick) and later had the courtesy to tell him that I'd hired someone else. Instead of blowing him off. I was nice, and he is throwing four letter words at me. I would find someone else who is more trustworthy, reliable, knows the difference between a computer and a real person, and knows how to treat potential clients. How will he treat you inside your own home??

The previous tenant completely destroyed it and everything had to go, including the entire kitchen and bathrooms. The second project, we asked him to take a look and let us know what needed to be repaired/replaced in a second apartment. The third project included upgrading a family member's bathroom to allow our elder parents to be safe in their home. Brian did a wonderful job with all 3 projects. We felt he was being fair with the cost and also felt he would not tell us something needed to be replaced unless it truly needed to be. We will be calling him again, and have, to help us out as new issues come up.
