There was also a difference in how people communicated, some people were borderline rude and could care less, but not Bob George. He was not only responsive and professional from beginning to end, but also one of the best prices I was quoted. He was also flexible with the time, was able to accommodate me when I was available earlier. As opposed some of the other bigger companies that have millions of customers and you are dealing with admins, random staff and call centers, here you are always dealing directly with Bob. The install went super smooth, Bob came on time, he was in and out in less than an hour. He is also a local small business, just 'a man with a van', a genuinely nice guy with decades of experience doing this type of work so I was happy to support a local business owner. He told me that he is semi-retired, however, so if you're looking to get more labor-intensive work done in your home, he may no longer do it, but standard things like a disposal install, it's no problem. He texted me to call him, so I did, but didn't reach him. The next day I didn't hear from him until much later, and by then, I'd booked someone else. When he texted me, I let him know that I'd chosen someone else. He apologized for being slow to respond and being abrupt in his texts (they were testy) and asked if we could start over. I told him it wasn't an issue, but I'd truly booked someone else. Then he started complaining that he was getting attacked by AI and it was a crime, and it was hard to know if potential clients were real. I said I was real, and he must not have have put my voicemail and my email together. Then he asked me again for my name and city so that he could put it together. At this point, it was getting ridiculous, but I complied, I was trying to help the guy out, and get off his list. Then he starts cussing at me. I blocked him. What a jerk. I'm telling you, I was never anything but kind and helpful to him, the only thing I did "wrong" was ask him for a custom quote (which he never gave me, because he clearly still had no idea what work I'd asked him to do - he only gave me his 3 hour minimum shtick) and later had the courtesy to tell him that I'd hired someone else. Instead of blowing him off. I was nice, and he is throwing four letter words at me. I would find someone else who is more trustworthy, reliable, knows the difference between a computer and a real person, and knows how to treat potential clients.
