I wish we had more furniture that needed recovered. We absolutely love working with Nick and Lidia! They couldn't be more welcoming, helpful or exceptional. They are highly recommended by me and my husband. Not to mention a wonderful family business for all to support. We had 2 office chairs, 8 dining room chairs and 4 kitchen chairs that needed recovered. We met with them in store and they showed us several fabrics that would be easy to manage with our little children but also coordinated with our style. We reached out in December and they were excellent with expediting the eating chairs to have by Christmas, without us even pushing for that. Luckily the fabric was already available but we still didn't expect a 1-2 week turnaround. We are still waiting on the office chairs but are excited to see how The fabric and work done is top notch! As a local designer, I had a lot of resources for this project. Nick was the ONLY professional willing to accept the challenge of recovering my counter stools and he did a great job. A few other upholsterers told me just to replace bc the metal base was too difficult to work with. We selected the vinyl at his Highland Park showroom (he has an incredible selection) and he completed the job in less than a week. He picked up and delivered free of charge (I live nearby but still a nice gesture). I cannot express how well done the work is. Nothing even compares. I spent about two years looking for the right fabric for this chair and someone skilled enough to recover a chair with a "waterfall skirt". I hit many brick walls in the process, but went to Nicks as my last ditch attempt to get the chair recovered before deciding to scrap it and buy a new one. I was so surprised to come up with not only multiple fabric options, but someone with no concern about doing the waterfall skirt. I was leaning toward one particular fabric, but Nick nudged me toward a bolder option, which was absolutely the right choice. We love it. We had a terrible customer experience & would not recommend Nicks! We received a quote and picked fabric repeatedly telling Lidia that the sofa was upstairs in our den. We received a quote and put a 50% deposit down. After the sofa was picked up we received a NEW quote with an ADDITIONAL $125.00 added on top of the delivery charge we were given initially, this was for a 2nd floor & "tight space"pickup & delivery. It also said if we didn't pay the additional they could leave the sofa in the garage In 43 years in my house I have never been charged for "tight space" or this much for any delivery.I immediately emailed Lidia saying I felt really taken advantage of since we told her the sofa was upstairs. Nick called very indignant going on about his work which was not in question...since they already had the couch I told him to do the work & deliver it, as I certainly didn't want it in my garage. Obviously Nick and Lidia don't communicate and are arrogant enough to feel no responsibility for their mistakes. I also emailed them and said I would have the scotchguarding done elsewhere but they did it anyway and billed me! We believe in keeping the business in the neighborhood, but Nicks has left a negative experience. read more
