I've used Kashian for carpet/rugs and subsequent cleaning for over 30 years. Recently, I had them clean my carpet (one room & two small stairways, which they've done before. In 3 years, since my last cleaning, they've more than doubled their price and I was forced to pay $711 for a job that took less than a half hour. It took me three phone calls to get a response and when I did I the rep was aloof and dismissive. I've since found a competitor who gave me a quote for $225. This place has gone downhill and charges based on their zip code. read more

Kashian Bros did a fabulous job refinishing and adding hardwood flooring in our home. Manuel and his team provided exceptional service. Manuel came out & measured and was able to turn a quote around in a timely manner. I had already received a quote from a local handyman that was double Kashian's so I knew it was fair and I had seen Kashian's work in a neighbors home. We were able to schedule a date based on my preferences and was quoted 5-8 days to complete the job. The installers were extremely careful moving our existing furniture and worked efficiently. If you live through flooring installation you know it is a loud and disruptive process but they tried to work in a way that was least disruptive. They also took care with the stain application & did the best job possible to preserve our moldings and carefully added shoe molding to the rooms with new hardwood. They matched the floors perfectly and the finished project was completed within the time promised. Furniture was moved back exactly as it was before the project. And the process is truly dustless. I was expecting residual dust but they took the time to clean everything! We also had a rug cleaned during the process and it came back looking great. My family had an 11.5 x 8.5 oriental rug with silk cleaned at Kashian. They wrapped it in the clear plastic and I personally wrapped it even more so before having it shipped by FedEx to the west coast to be put in a living room. Probably 3-4 weeks after being picked up from Kashian, I unwrap the rug to a musty moldy cleaning solution smell. Hard to almost explain, but CERTAINLY smells moldy. They wrapped it still damp?! And without telling us? Hundreds of dollars wasted. This place has gone down hill lately. Incompetent. Very disappointed. Won't be using them ever again. read more

One of the worst experiences I have ever had with a contractor. Everything was going fine when one of the employees came to view our small condo. He said they could get the job done in 1.5 days and it would be "no problem". He also said we could leave our 3 pieces of furniture there and they would move them. When our schedule time came, the 1 worker was 4 hours late. They only sent 1 person to work it. I called and complained as this 1 person made me move furniture with him, throwing out my back. The employee said he would add more people to get the job done. When I came back in a few hours there was still only 1 person and he had ripped the newly painted walls up with moving furniture and had put my $2,000 couch (which is now ruined) on the balcony in the rain. I received a fine from the condo association for "having a couch on the balcony" which is absurd. I visited the owner and he seemed nice and assured me the job would get done. But, there never was more than 1 person assigned to me. The entire job ended up taking 3 days and we were late to make the photographer for putting our home on the market. I then noticed that they had made multiple scratches in the floor and covered them up with furniture. We paid extra for "strong" hard wood and yet there were several scratches and scraps. TERRIBLE!!! I had 2 rugs cleaned at Kashian. I found their prices very reasonable, the people who worked there seemed to be knowledgeable, friendly and they seemed to care about the work they were doing and customer satisfaction. It was definitely worth the drive from Rogers Park. I went to another store closer to me on Devon Avenue before Kashian and their prices were triple what Kashian charged. Kashian did not have an extra charge for a pet stain on the carpet, and the other place told me one of the carpets had silk in it and I needed "silk conditioner" for another big up-charge. The gentleman at Kashian told me there was no silk in the rug, but perhaps there was Viscose/Rayon, but it didn't need the silk conditioner. We had the floors in our home refinished and I cannot say enough about this company. The two tradesmen we had in our home, Lucian and Bagdin were professional and did a fantastic job on our floors. They were respectful of our home and made sure to keep the noise and the dust to a minimum. Peter Maris, the GC is also terrific to work with. The people you employ are a direct reflection of you as a whole.... I wouldn't be writing this review but i was given the impression of being brushed off when called in to talk about the situation with their office staff. On 09 May 2016 at approx 12:30pm I was driving Skokie Hwy us 41 at 55mph when the driver of one of their vans decided it was a good idea to pull out in front of me with no regard to my safety or the safety of others. Pulling out in front of me as this employee did caused me to lock up my brakes and perform an immediate lane change to avoid the collision with their vehicle, had anyone been next to me this would had been catastrophic event. I called the company to report the incident to the office staff the first person that i spoke to said "oh no." put me on hold and transferred me to someone else. I explained the situation to yet another person who "assured" me that this was and "isolated" incident and he would report this through his proper channels all the while saying "i don't know if i have a technician over there" to ensure this is reviewed by all the proper channels is why I write a negative review. I will not do business with a company who seems to brush people off when they call in to report a situation and furthermore as the headline states your employees are a direct reflection of your company as a whole. If this is how an employee treats your vehicles/equipment I surely wouldn't want them in my house handling my belongings. *revised due to company comment* Unfortunately your driver wasn't changing lanes, your driver pulled onto Hwy 41 from a side street, my horn on the vehicle was blaring and my tires screeching, He heard and saw me. We had our house redone and most of the remodeled house is hardwood floor. We did, however, take our old living carpet and put it in the basement. I had called a few places to get an estimate to shampoo the carpet. Kashian Bros. was the most reasonable. The two gentleman who came did an amazing job. They were very friendly and they got a lot of stains out of the carpet. I wish I had known about them when most of our house was carpeted. So it should surprise no one that, even though they felt the workers had done an excellent job on the whole, they felt like there were some small "issues." Most recently, my cleaning lady cleaned my travertine floors with a bleach like cleaner. This resulted in major etching and bleaching of my beautiful kitchen floors. I am very picky and have had SS before and a few other cleaners when living in the city - it takes a lot to impress me. This company was prompt, professional, and did and excellent job. Wasted a week looking at carpet here. Saleswoman did not know what she was talking about. When it came time to order, she added an additional $200 labor charge (to meet the minimum labor charge of $350 for installation). We had gone over-all in pricing multiple times, and she claimed she didn't know anything about this minimum charge until now. This was in addition to a $125 fee for coming into the city. Would not recommend unless you're ok with extra fees being added on last minute. read more

Over a period of months Lorenzo from Kashian Brothers worked with me to find the best way to repair moth damage to several carpets. They also came up with creative ways to repair and save a 90 year old handhooked rug (family heirloom) which had damage to the edges caused by a dog as well as loops pulling from the canvas which was really rotten due to it's age. A new border was added to conceal the dog damage to the edge. Hot glue was the only way to affix the loops to the original backing; each loop had to be individually affixed. Lastly a latex coating was applied to the back of the rug. It is now stable enough to be displayed (It will be suspended on a wall as it is to fragile to walk on). The oriental rugs required freezing to completely eradicate the moths. Once this was done individual decisions were made for each rug as to what to do. The most complex work involved a large Bokharra; it was not economically feasible to repair an area in the middle with a large area of damage. This section, about 2 feet wide was cut out of the rug and then the remaining, large pieces were rejoined by an expert on their staff. The pattern matching is seamless; if you know the work was done you can see the almost imperceptible line. It is still a large and beautiful rug. The itemized estimates for the work were reasonable and the final costs were as estimated. In a few cases a new condition was discovered and Lorenzo would call me to discuss options. Some of these added slightly to the original estimate. The honesty of this company is refreshing. I would recommend them to any friend of mine. I have already recommended them to a commercial upholstery firm (they overheard my positive comments and asked for contact information). There are still gentlemen in this world and in the Chicago area. read more

We refinished our kitchen floor - it was in bad shape, some boards were cracked/warped and in one area it was so bad you could get a splinter walking on it. Kashian was easy to work with - we had to reschedule our refinishing several times and they did it, no questions asked. We were concerned about the dust (we had had bad experience before) but this was truly dustless - no dust escaped from the kitchen and when Kashian was finished there was no dust/dirt in the kitchen on the counters/cabinets or anywhere. Kashian also found/fitted new floor registers for us (which were a non-custom size). And our kitchen floor looked great when they were finished- new construction great! The job took only 2 days, they used a water-based stain and we were able to stay in the house without a problem while work was going on. We've lived in Wilmette for many years and have used Kashian Brothers for carpet cleaning, rug cleaning, and rug repairs. They carpeted our newly finished basement two years ago and the carpet and installation turned out beautifully. On November 2, I stopped in to pick out new carpeting for our main floor family room. Mike Kepraios helped me with the selection, and then followed me back to my house so he could double check the measurements and order the carpet the same day, because of course I wanted it installed before Thanksgiving. Well, it's November 11, and the installers have just left. Adon and his team did a fantastic job. The seam is invisible even though I know where it is, and the men were very careful with the furniture, electronics, and did a great job cleaning up. All my experiences with Kashian have been excellent. I've not yet used them for hardwood refinishing or installation, but based on my experiences, I would call them first. read more
