Dr. Hoang was able to take care of my mom when she had a tooth infection!!!! I was panicking trying to look for a good dentist to take my mom as soon as I stopped by to visit her. DO NOT GET VENEERS IN ANOTHER COUNTRY. It will ending up costing you just as much if not more to get it done here in the states. Her face was swollen. ='''( (a million tears lol) The staff took her in within the hour. This is how amazing the place and staff are: They took my mom within the hour Did some xrays Antibiotics for the infection Did a emergency referral to DR COHEN ( a specialist) (see my review for him) Saw him about two hour later. Both doctors are AMAZING. Boom boom boom, just like that moms on the road to recovery. I was prepared to spend every last dollar to make sure moms okay. I found Dr. Hoang on yelp, and I'm glad I did. I had a great experience with Dr. Hoang and her staff! She truly makes you feel at home and comfortable. She treats her staff like family, and the staff was also respectful and pleasant. I have had two visits with her and had some cavity fillings done. I usually have low pain tolerance, but Dr. Hoang instilled the numbing injection with a technique that alleviated most of the pain. Throughout the whole treatment I was numb well, thankfully, and she never judged me for being nervous. I say this because my previous experiences felt like my pain didn't matter, which made dental visits scary from then on. Overall, she is a great dentist. I highly recommend her! read more

I had my first appointment with Dr. Nicole Hoang today and, I have to say, it definitely surpassed my expectations. My first impression upon entering the office is how CLEAN it was. Not only was it clean visibly extremely clean (which is obviously so important during a time like this), but everyone was very obviously taking precautions to keep their distance when necessary and conducting business in a way that kept things sanitary and safe. I definitely felt 110% safe in their office. I also really enjoyed their calm, welcoming, trendy decor! ALL of the staff I came in contact with were extremely friendly and made me feel so at ease. I was here to discuss some serious work I would have to have done as a result of my teeth really deteriorating due to chemotherapy and radiation. I was not only nervous but embarrassed about my teeth and what they were going to see. But, they all made me feel comfortable and they were all so compassionate about my situation. Dr. Hoang is not only very knowledgeable, but also very kind. You can tell she definitely cares about her patients. I appreciated her explaining every little thing to me in a way I could understand, as well as the way she clearly outlined a plan of action for me. I also greatly appreciated her desire and concern to want to really preserve my teeth by not having to perform unnecessary procedures on them if we didn't have to. Rosie (I believe she is a dental assistant? I apologize if I am not using the correct title!) was also so darn kind. She explained, very thoroughly, my new at home maintenance plan for my teeth, frequently asked if I had any questions at all for her, and kindly took her time with my cleaning and was very patient (I have extremely sensitive teeth as a result of treatment). She, too, made me feel so relaxed during my appointment. I wish I remembered the receptionists name (I remember Rosie's because that's my mom's name!) because she was a delight! What a great personality to be the first point of contact for patients as they walk in! She was so cheerful and upbeat. We chatted for a while and it was nice to have some genuine, unrushed, human interaction during a time when everything is so socially distanced. I believe she was also the one who had been calling regularly to check-in with me to see if I was available to make an appt. yet (COVID and my husband's job kept preventing me from being able to come in, but she stayed on top of things!). I've been to a few other dentist offices, but I can honestly say, I've never felt so welcome, comfortable, and at home at any of the others the way I did here. I'm not only more confident in my smile but, now in my overall dental knowledge! First off, it was really easy to call in and schedule, they take all PPO plans, no Medical yet. The office actually smells clean and floral, and not like metal or drilled teeth. All equipment is up to date and very modern. All the ppe is functional and pink! A calming yet strong color indeed. You don't need to worry about those sharp edge X-ray films choking you... the ones at Dr Hoang's clinic are sleek and flexible, very comfortable. All the equipment is catered to the most sensitive mouths like mine. Dr. Hoang empowers you through empathy and education, and her team all have similar attributes. All of my cleanings, fillings, and restoration have been amazing. Dr. Hoang uses Cerec and has created beautiful custom crowns for me in one day. If you know about getting a crown, this is hugely efficient and convenient. I love that here is a non-judgmental space, and promotes health through compassion and science-backed knowledge. I used to be so afraid of even the sound of drilling or seeing the needles or just the smell of teeth, but with the comfort that this clinic brings to me, I can slowly heal my anxiety and develop healthy preventative care habits. read more

I was a new patient of Dr Hoang as my prior dentist retired. After my initial visit Dr Hoang recommended replacing two crowns. I was having no issues with these teeth nor the crowns. However, I agreed based on her recommendation. The procedure did not go well! She had a very difficult time numbing me properly and was quite upset that it was taking longer than she anticipated. She struggled to prepare the teeth for the new crowns and again struggled to place them. She was rushed and struggling, leaving me very uneasy about the quality of work. At this point I had ZERO confidence in her professional ability. I left the office in pain. The pain and discomfort never resolved and continued for many months. I returned once for some adjustments but it never corrected the underlying problem. I was unable to chew on one side of my mouth for 3 months. I had no more insurance benefits for the year so I waited until the new year to see another dentist. I went to another dentist who was referred to me by my retired dentist. He looked at my crowns and my old x-rays and felt the original crown was removed for no reason based on his assessment and review of prior x-rays. He determined the new crowns where poorly placed and needed to be removed. He did so and found that under one crown was a poorly placed filling that was causing damage to the roots. This led to a root canal... I had this performed painlessly and professionally by a periodontist of high regard. The permanent crowns where replaced by the new dentist with no issues. I contacted Alicia at Dr Hoangs office and asked them to refund the charges for the poorly placed crowns to be returned to my insurance company and to refund the co-pay to me. She agreed and said they would mail a refund check immediately. After one month and no refund I called again and Alicia said she would make sure the refund went out. Again, one month later and nothing had been received by the insurance, leaving me to pay for the replacement crowns completely out of pocket as the insurance will not cover re-work unless the original provider refunds the claim. I again contact Alicia. She stated she will check on the refund check to me but I would have to deal with the insurance company myself as she didn't know how to contact them. This is months after telling me it would be taken care of. In summery; Not only was the dental work less than inadequate and just flat out poor. The customer service was awful. I have yet to receive a refund. Based on my experiences, I would not recommend Dr Hoang. read more

I researched several dentist offices in the area prior to selecting Dr. Hoang's office. I have been a patient of Dr. Hoang for several years and continue to be pleased with the care. Paramount to the team is the doctor herself. She's not only a very well trained professional but is also a very caring, comforting and supportive person who continues to strive for her clients' health but also for her team's excellence by keeping up to date on new technologies, tools and techniques. The entire staff is incredible, but I would like to personally thank Alicia who is consistently kind, attentive and well organized. She consistently ensures her clients know exactly what they need, always in a timely manner. During a recent visit, I was taken care of by a guest hygienist (Myra) who was wonderful. Pinch hitting for the team, she discovered and suggested that that doctor take a secondary look at one my teeth noticing something hidden that could require attention. It turned out to be a cavity that was quickly repaired and I'm so thankful for the extra attention. Today was my first visit after not having seen a dentist in about a year... Yeah. Alicia at the front desk is super sweet and makes you feel super welcomed even from the initial phone call to confirm your appointment and get your information. Dr Hoang and her assistant Jamie were also super sweet, always ensuring that I was okay and knew exactly what they were doing at all times. She also gave me the breakdown on what I should be doing and how to do it correctly, never making me feel bad about being lazy about not flossing, haha!! The office is in a beautiful part right downtown Concord in Todos Santos, which was perfect for me as I walked to Bart to get to work right after my appointment! I walked away with a sweet little gift set filled with a nice mug, toothbrush, mouthwash, toothpaste and Chapstick. Ill definitely be back [also because I have a cavity I have to take care of]! Haha! I went to this office yesterday for teeth cleaning . They took xrays . While hygienist was cleaning my teeth , dentist came briefly to say my cavities are getting worse. She did not show me xrays as hygienist interrupted her that let her finish cleaning and then she ( dentist ) can talk to me . After teeth cleaning , I waited little bit for dentist as I waited first for hygienist, she got busy with other patient. She did not explain anything . She was my family dentist briefly back in January 2016. She worked on my #31 and put a crown. She did my husband's fillings. She had to redo one of his fillings after 6 months later. First she forgot it was hers. It was a red flag, so I decided to go to Mark Wong Dentist in near walnut creek. He checked my #31 crown and asked when I got it done. He recommended that I should go back and have my previous dentist redo it. I went back to Nicole's practice in august 2016. She fixed it. I moved to Colorado in January 2017. A week ago my tooth #31 crown fell off when I was flossing. I went to couple different dentists to get an opinion on why it came off and what they could do. First well known dentist in Colorado was surprised that my crown was done less than 4 years ago. He said it is a very small crown and there is not enough build up/base to support my crown. He recommended I should get a brand new crown. I was furious. I went to another dentist who has been a top dentist list over 10, 15 years. She showed and explained that Nicole's crown is like onlay, not enough support for my tooth. She said she could put it back but she can't guarantee it would stay on strong. I would literally run away from her practice. I would NOT trust her ability. read more

I have to admit, initially I picked this dentist because it was strategically located above a bar/restaurant. Why not get your drink on before and after that new crown! The second reason was because Nicole has small hands. I once had a big German guy dentist whose large hands ripped the sides of my mouth, or at least that is how it felt. Dr H and her team are wonderful. A couple of years back Dr H advised me that I needed to undertake major teeth and mouth work, including jaw surgery. She explained the entire process to me and was so thorough in explaining how my quality of life would improve after these procedures. She was right. Two years on my teeth are amazing and no more TMJ. About 2 yrs ago was my first visit as a urgent patient. As I have mentioned before I have in the past had a Dentist phobia however I really trusted my Dental Health to Dr. Hoang's skill and her office. We set out a plan over the past 2 yrs with insurance coverage and out of pocket costs so that I can get all my necessary dental care completed. Today was my last step in that process getting my final crowns replaced. Dr. Hoang and took her time to make sure I was satisfied with the matching of my crown to the color of my other teeth. Jackie is always great when she works beside Dr. Hoang. She makes sure that you are comfortable and provides the reassurance that patients need. As I work with the Public as a Medical Professional and smiles are always comforting to patients, I wanted that great comforting smile to shine through But I am proud that I am able to have a teeth showing smile with comfort! I have been coming here for almost 6 years now and have to say I am supremely happy with the service! It's an office of wonderful women who are genuinely there to help you. Dr. Hoang offers suggestions on how to better your oral health, but isn't pushy or upset with you if you are a habitual non-flosser (guilty!) like a lot of other dentists I have experienced get. I also love that they NEVER try to sell me anything I don't NEED! The dentist I went to before wanted me to get $2000 laser gum surgery. We all have THAT story - don't need it, you're not stealing my money. They also have worked with me on payments if my insurance didn't cover as much as we originally thought. Found this place here on yelp and then Facebook and reading all the great reviews I decided to make an appointment. I was having some jaw pain and don't really like going to the dentist in general, but hey need to find out what's going on. Today was my appointment at 9 AM. There was another lady outside talking with me who was their patient as well and she has been going there for 7 years. That gave me a good feeling. As soon as I walked in the receptionist was beyond amazing and sweet, she shook my hand and was very polite. Since I filled out the paper work online it was fast and just had to sign what I filled out. So simple. She told me take a seat and less than 5 mins I was in the back. Dentist Assistant was very nice, showed me around and then I sat and she took my x-rays, asked me questions, was very kind and friendly. Nicole came in and took some pictures of my teeth, talked to me a bit about my teeth and made sure she answered all my questions. I got my teeth clean, which feel amazing right now. :) Nicole was not pushy about flossing my teeth, even though we need to she said start out 3 times a week and work your way up to everyday. Not like other dentist, where they tell you, you have to and do it every day. The staff is really amazing and everyone greets you there. If I could give them more stars I would. Felt like a family and not just some place. I am really happy I decided to come here. Oh, and I had no cavities, no infections, just stress, LOL and grinding my teeth a bit. But that can be fixed. I split my time between Texas and SF. At the recommendation of a friend I was told about Dr. Hoang. I have to say that Dr. Hoang and her staff really strive to make you feel like you're part of their extended family. While alot of the medical community is turning into corporate entities, it was refreshing to see the personalization that she provides. The staff was upbeat and happy.
