I initially chose Dr. Nykiel based on his positive reviews, but I ended up feeling disappointed not only with my outcome, but also with how my experience was handled. I am a petite asian girl that already had a good foundation to begin with, so I thought there would be no issues with the outcome. We both decided that an upside down heart shaped butt would look best on me, even printing out inspirations of what I wanted. The surgery finally came (May 2025) and I woke up laying flat on my butt. Idk if that affected the outcome but my butt came out looking like a square, I tried to keep positive, as it was supposedly going to get better overtime. Every consultation I had with him, he always came alone in his office. I found that strange, because I have never had a doctor evaluate me without a second person there to be a witness. At a follow-up visit, I expressed that I was still unhappy with my results, and he asked me, "Have you thought about getting implants?" That comment left me frustrated and confused, as I had specifically come to him for a BBL. It made me question him as a surgeon, and why he would agree to do it in the first place. Since then, the consultations have felt like an ongoing back-and-forth without a clear direction or resolution, as if he didn't remember any of our previous conversations. At times, the outcome was attributed to my body composition, which I personally found difficult to reconcile with earlier conversations about my goals and expectations. During the last consultation on September 24, 20225, I made a point to document the interaction because I've consistently felt like I'm not getting clear or consistent answers from him. I asked if we could take before-and-after photos, and he agreed, so I took a few. I then asked if I could record a video of him explaining the results for my own records, and he initially agreed to that as well. However, once I began recording and asked him to walk me through the before-and-after, he became defensive and abruptly ended the conversation by leaving the room. This has been an incredibly long and difficult experience, and the way he handled it has honestly been traumatic for me. When I tried to confront him about everything, he yelled at me to "get out." I was left shaking and completely overwhelmed. This situation has caused me significant emotional distress--I think about it every day, and haven't fully recovered from the trauma. I'm sharing this as a warning to other women: please be cautious, and consider bringing someone with you to your consultations. In my experience, I felt dismissed and that my concerns weren't acknowledged, really thinking why (as a patient) I was treated like this. I am now trying to close this chapter of my experience with him, and hoping to get this fixed somewhere else. There was more unprofessionalism that Dr. Nykiel and the staff had me go through but I'm keeping this short.

Dr. Smilie showed up to the office over 40 minutes late and then proceeded to take another patient into surgery. As a result I sat in the back room naked for 2.5 hours. Not only that but they told me my procedure was minor. The minor surgery took off a huge football piece of skin on one side. I wasn't completely numb for the procedure ana felt the first cut. It took an hour to perform and i was awake the whole time. My surgery did turn out great after recovering but I don't think I would pick them again.

The molar had been bothering me for years but I finally decided to do something about it. When I had my X-ray taken, Dr. Gilbert showed me that the molar and surrounding gum tissue were infected and that my body has been fighting an active infection! I had been feeling more run-down than usual this past year I thought that it could be this molar; I was relieved to discover that I was right. I immediately scheduled a surgery date for the extraction, bone graft, and ensuing dental implant. Dr. Gilbert told me that I would feel so much better after getting the molar removed. The day arrived and I had my molar removed as a well as the bone graft. Dr. Gilbert was right, I felt so much better immediately after surgery! I didn't bleed much and didn't have much swelling. Moreover, I barely had any pain and only had to take one Motrin the first day - which I took preemptively but I probably didn't need it. About a month ago, I went back for the dental implant procedure. The X-ray showed that my bone graft was adequate and I went right into surgery. After the second surgery, I was grateful to experience a similar result as the first surgery - very little bleeding, pain, or swelling. I just went in for my 4 week follow-up and my implant healed nicely, so nicely in fact that my gums healed over the implant! I have a bone-disease similar to osteoporosis and I'm very particular about who I choose to operate on me. Dr. Gilbert presented himself as professional, confident, and most importantly capable of meeting the challenge of performing a successful dental implant procedure on me. Thank you, Dr. Gilbert! I drove to the facility -- arriving 30 minutes early -- and was completing their online check-in when they started repeatedly calling me shortly before my appointment time. When I walked in, I was told they had "just now" reviewed my chart and the doctor decided he did not want to perform the procedure. As a result, I now have to reschedule and essentially start the entire process over again. I find it very unprofessional that my information was apparently not reviewed until the last minute, despite having over a month to do so. This feels like a clear administrative failure and showed very little respect for my time, effort, or the cost of traveling to the appointment. With today's gas prices and busy schedules, this was a complete waste of my day. I expected much better communication and organization from a medical office.
