I had an extremely disappointing experience with Pacific Dermatology. I scheduled my appointment well over a month ago and even received a reminder message last week confirming everything was set. I drove to the facility -- arriving 30 minutes early -- and was completing their online check-in when they started repeatedly calling me shortly before my appointment time. When I walked in, I was told they had "just now" reviewed my chart and the doctor decided he did not want to perform the procedure. As a result, I now have to reschedule and essentially start the entire process over again. I find it very unprofessional that my information was apparently not reviewed until the last minute, despite having over a month to do so. This feels like a clear administrative failure and showed very little respect for my time, effort, or the cost of traveling to the appointment. With today's gas prices and busy schedules, this was a complete waste of my day. I expected much better communication and organization from a medical office. read more

It took 3 months to get an appt only to be turned away upon arrival as I was the grandparent (not parent) checking in my granddaughter. This "policy" was not communicated in any way prior to the appt and should be clear before pulling kids out of school. So, we had to reschedule. I cannot yet comment on the experience of seeing a doctor, but warning working parents who rely on grandparent help for these types of appointments. read more

I was referred to Pacific by Kaiser. It took 3 weeks to get an appt. I could not fill out their required sheet by phone as the program didn't work. The receptionist helped me do so, but she had to repeat everything as the people noise in the reception area (which was packed) was so loud. The doctor spent 5 min. with me, inspected the suspected spot and walked toward the door. I told her I think that Kaiser ordered a skin check. She said OK, came back, looked over my skin only in visible areas (I was sitting), not my face, neck or head, for about 15 seconds, commented on 2 other suspicious spots (said it was ok) and walked out the door. 5 minutes later, she took a tissue sample from my arm. After about 3 weeks, for 4 days I began calling the clinic for results, leaving messages and requesting a call back after receiving a message that the test results were in. After 4 of my messagesm they called me back 2 times, both times leaving messages at time that I had told them (by voicemail) that I would be working and please NOT to call at those times. Finally I drove to the clinic and requested the results which were give to me by a receptionist (!!). He said test showed cancer and that the clinic would schedule surgery. By this time, I wanted nothing more to do with the clinic. The receptionist then checked his computer which apparently informed him that Kaiser would do the surgery. Several days later, I came in contact with 3 persons, 2 well known to me that had the same horrible experiences at Pacific and said they would never go back. read more

Money scam. Came here because they are in my insurance network. The wait times on the phone can be very long and the call backs are made and they instantly hang up. All things considered I came a week ago on a visit and was given two prescriptions. CVS had issues with a prescription and reached out to the office multiple times with no response. I have called and even visited the office and they were closed and are no longer responding to my request. This is straight up bs. I'm flaring up and this office gives no damn. Calling mt insurance now to file a complaint. read more

I have never experienced a less professional medical office in my life. From the moment I walked in, the front staff were loudly complaining about the doctor running behind and how they didn't want to stay late. It was incredibly unprofessional and uncomfortable as a patient. After waiting about 40 minutes in the waiting room, I was brought back to a dirty exam room. I answered a few intake questions and was then left alone for another 20 minutes waiting for the provider. My room was across from what seemed to be a staff hangout area, and the nurses were loudly chatting, laughing, cussing, and discussing personal topics the entire time. While waiting, I could even hear the doctor (Louis Pham) joining in on the conversations rather than setting a professional tone. When I was finally seen, my concerns were only minimally addressed. There were very few questions about my past history, and I didn't feel like my concerns were taken seriously or that a thorough exam was done. The final straw was when they started vacuuming before closing, making it unbearably loud while staff continued talking loudly. The entire environment felt more like a frat house than a medical office. Ultimately, it was a waste of an hour and a half, and I would not recommend this office to anyone. Zero stars; I was seen by Ebony Miller, who is a PA. I had concerns about couple of red marks on my left nasal bridge. I'm going to quote what Ebony Miller's diagnosis in the order she told me within a matter of a minute give or take: She said and I quote: "It is cancerous", then "It is precancerous" then "It is a little bit precancerous". Then she said that she can freeze the spots for me. I told Ebony Miller that I want to get a second opinion from a different doctor's office. So I made a request from my health insurance company to send me to see a Board Certified Dermatologist for a second opinion which they did. The dermatologist reassured me that the two red spots were nothing but broken capillaries and that it was neither cancerous or precancerous or even a little bit precancerous. read more

They are not responsive. They have a phone system that will call you back so you don't wait on hold but when they call you back they put you back on hold. After calling back and holding for 15 min, Bobbi their front desk Admin picked up and put me on hold for another 7 mins. When I expressed my frustration and that I would be moving my daughter to another provider, her response was 'WONDERFUL!". Then you wonder why people get laid off... business close! If there is any place you can choose besides this location and their staff, I highly recommend you go there rather than here. And based on current reviews, it's just shows me how much they do not care about improving their practice. When I was on accutane, a few years ago, I was met with some of the most hostile verbiage I've ever experienced within a medical setting. I was always blamed for their staff not putting in orders, and not them not receiving blood work from quest diagnostics. I'll never forget being 19, hoping to finally get ahold on my worsening skin, and being told "you're the only patient we have issues with every month with your blood work." Or even "why is your bloodwork never in on time?" Mind you, I was doing as I was told every month and took every step seriously as an autistic young woman. I would never want to create a harder job for others, especially those in medicine. I had no control over how and when paperwork was sent, I simply went and gave blood as I was told. It's extremely disheartening when people can't take accountability or hold holistic views on what can occur. I hate to say it but people in medical fields often make mistakes and blame the patient-- and this is one of those places that does it. I remember waiting over an hour to be seen, just to be brushed off by my provider. And the women working the front were just as awful. No greeting, just eye rolls as you walk in. If you have a young brown adult daughter, I suggest you take her somewhere else. They simply don't want to help you here. After having been on accutane and not getting the proper care and guidance on how to protect my skin while on accutane, I wouldn't want that same negligence being thrown to your loved ones. They will make you feel like crap here for asking questions, being young, and being alone navigating life. Maybe these providers and receptionist have had everything handed to them in life, and fail to understand the complexities of the human experience. Humans remember how they are treated, and how they are neglected. Why not operate in positive memorable ways. Why not work on proper training for all your staff? On how to talk to people seeking help? And no, no one wants to call you back when they have a negative response. Simply do better. No one cares if you respond to every yelp review, they want to see that your practice does right the first time. read more

I saw 'Dr ' Esche He is crazy. After 2 months of waiting I came to his office, the doctor looked at me a few seconds and told me not to worry about it. I still don't know what's wrong with me. I still have the same problem. Even though I am blonde hair blue eyed with lots of sun exposure he didn't even check me for skin cancers, which would have justified the money I paid for the visit. Just now they sent me a text saying I needed a follow up! Literally, I was talking to the doctor for mere seconds and told it was nothing, though I was never told what 'it' was.. What the hell would my follow up be for when the doctor said not to worry about it-whatever it is? I would never go to this office again. read more

I have been here before and previously received great care from other doctors over the years for warts, hives/rashes, and cysts. This review is about Dr. Clemens Esche, who I saw for recurrent warts on one of my hands. This man has zero bedside manner. He claimed that simple warts on a hand were due to diet and refused to do anything tangible for me (freezing/laser/ removal/rx cream) because I'm an "unhealthy American". He insisted I needed to run blood panels so he could prove how unhealthy I am after I informed him my regular PCP just had panels done and surprise! Everything came back fine. I told him I could get the results for him but he wanted a whole new panel ordered as if anything would have changed in the span of a month. Without even seeing my panels he told me that our American standards and thresholds for blood test results are too lax and in his professional opinion I was most definitely unhealthy and needed to make large scale life changes in order to heal myself. When I told the staff I didn't receive the care I expected to they had nothing to say other than they hear this often about him and that he is just like this. That's not very reassuring. Due to his lack of action my warts grew and spread and I needed to visit a different dermatologist. Don't waste your time and money being bullied by this man, consider taking your dermatology needs elsewhere. If Dr. Esche wants to be a nutritionist or naturopath he should pursue it. Seems he doesn't care about skincare as much as being "right" about diet and exercise and shaming people, particularly Americans. read more

Been trying all week multiple times a day JUST TO TALK TO A RECEPTIONIST. Go somewhere else because it's literally impossible to even get ahold to inquire about an appt. Haven't gotten through once. After waiting on hold, the most I was given was a "please hold" and another time I was given "please hold I'll be RIGHT with you" to then have gotten placed on hold for an indefinite amount of time. At this point I've spent a total of several hours on hold. Not sure how this business expects to successfully service anyone. I couldn't imagine making an appt and then having to call to reschedule or call about anything at all after being seen. I would never make it through... If you try to call this Dermatology office, you will be 100% guaranteed that you have to be on hold for at least one hour before getting a person. You can leave a message and they will not call you back within 24 hours like the message says. Be sure to be very frustrated And anxious over even trying to get an appointment to treat your condition. It is not worth even giving them your time to try and serve you. When the medical assistant returned my call, she left a message saying that they are a very high volume office and was insinuating that I shouldn't even bother. So what's the point? in today's healthcare climate, we have to stand up and not give people business who have no ability to care for us. read more

Reviews don't lie and the office's response to those reviews are a clear indication that they don't take anything into account to do the right thing. While making an appointment wasn't too tough (availability sucks, but making the appt was fine), the actual appointment was awful. It was extremely rushed and I was immediately told to see an allergist before he even examined the skin areas. I'm not sure how he is practicing when he told me that diet has nothing to do with skin! This place is the worst when it comes to scheduling. I've had two appointments canceled because the Dr or PA wasn't going to be there. Then they tried to reschedule for Chino Hills or Redlands, both 20+ miles away. If you are able to get in the doctors are good. Their attitude of the front desk is horrific too when they cancel. It's the "I don't care about you" attitude. She, after I said no to Redlands and Chino Hills, asked me if I wanted to cancel. I told her no, it's you who's canceling me. Too frustrating to deal with. I have a difficult time believing that they book you three-four months out then call you for another 1-2 months out. I was referred to this office via Kaiser Permanente. I was told I'd be called within the week, but it took over two weeks. Not a big deal, but I missed the call and they left a voice mail to call back to schedule an appointment. I have now called back 3 times. Each time I call, I'm just sitting there listening to music and a voice message on loop thanking me for my patience. I've spent just over 45 minutes just to get an appointment. This last time I called at 4:45pm. Again, sat on hold waiting for someone to answer. At 5:01pm, the phone system transfers my call to a centralized call center where a man answers right away. I explained the situation and said I'm just trying to schedule an appointment. He informs me I was transferred to him because the office I originally called is now closed and that he doesn't have the ability to schedule appointments. If they are this sloppy and unorganized just to get an appointment, there's no way I'm trusting them to all of a sudden be organized and efficient once I'm in there as a client. And reading other comments, I get the sense that whoever owns and runs this company just doesn't care. They probably have a sweetheart arrangement with multiple hospitals where they can just treat clients with indifference since they keep getting new referrals regardless. I'm asking Kaiser to refer me elsewhere. read more

The issue with this office is not only do they overbook appointments to where the lobby feels like a concert, the medical staff, specifically Jennifer Lucatero PA-C is completely dismissive with a lack of bedside care. The moment she walked in I felt like I was getting conveyor belt rinse and repeat patient treatment. My concerns were dismissed and the provider was defensive when I asked for solutions. She said she couldn't possibly know what skin care products that suggest for me from my allergy...a dermatologist. I wasted my time and pto even though I was told by the office that the provider would be able to address my concerns. I did communicate my concerns to the office manager before leaving, but she didn't even apologize and was quiet with nothing to say after I went iver my concerns, so overall I just left feeling defeated and discouraged and embarrassed that this is what my healthcare system has to offer. read more

I felt like once he saw I was African American he was not interested, impersonal and was just downright terrible in his interaction and suggestions for what I was dealing with. I also asked about juviderm fillers and he didn't even know they were performed in his office, he told me we don't do fillers here, well you do DR. ESCHE. I don't see how he was possibly a national winner of doctors choice award...he'd never be my choice! Overall, I would never visit this so called dermatology institute in Upland ever again! This place is absolutely terrible! We've been calling for 2 1/2 months to get lab results for my daughter. No one calls us back no matter what they say they're going to do. The actual appointment we had there was horrible. The dr had zero bedside manner and was cold and rude. My daughter was crying in pain and all the dr said nonchalantly was "ya, I said it would be uncomfortable". We would never go back or recommend this place to anyone. Came for an appt and completed all the required forms online prior to arrival. Once I arrived, the front staff informed that I had not completed the forms and additional forms were needed. The woman at the front was very rude and after filling the forms out, I was helped by Jose who was much nicer. I waited 40 minutes to be taken to a back room. I then spent 5 minutes with the medical assistant and waited another 10 minutes for the doctor. Dr Esche spent maybe three minutes with me. He did not appropriately address the reasons for my appointment, and I will not return to this office. read more

I wish I had come to look at the reviews before I made an appointment. My PCP gave me a referral here so I didn't think twice. What a horrible experience. My first clue should have been the phone call and voice mail I received the day before my appointment saying that if I didn't call back before 3pm my appointment would be canceled. They clearly have no trust in their patients. I called at 5 and left a voice mail indicating that I would be there. The office staff were curt, but not rude. The NP that I saw asked me no questions before she started giving me advice about a common condition that I've been dealing with for 16 years. I almost lost it. I (admittedly) rudely interrupted her to tell her a bit of history on my condition and experience. She didn't seem to care and continued with her advice. She answered a few questions, then abruptly left the room without wrapping up the conversation, looking at me, or saying goodbye. I didn't receive any care from this facility. My advice is to look elsewhere. read more
