Called a few times... looks like this place is out of business, or at least they don't answer the phone. ‍

I have back issues and the cupping and acupuncture is the only thing that helps me with the pain.

I was diagnosed as having Bell's Palsy this year. I had an appointment with Mariko during my second…read moreweek of having Bell's. Mariko was able to assist my recovery in a speedy way and did small tweaks that helped. Such as when I said my left eye wasn't closing at night to sleep. The next day my eye closed enough that I didn't need to tape it shut! I also have stomach issues that she was able to pinpoint and I felt immediately better. Mariko also gave me herbs to address these issues. I am continuing my treatment here as my Bell's Palsy issues reverse and I'm discovering many other ways she can help my health! I highly recommend her.

I'm about two years late writing this review, but I couldn't let any more time pass without sharing…read morehow Dr. Mariko Horie changed my life. My husband and I had been trying to have a baby for three years, and after countless disappointments, we had completely given up hope. Since we both work remotely, we made a bold decision--sell everything, leave Santa Barbara, and travel the world. Before we left in April 2023, I visited Dr. Mariko Horie's office, hoping to find some alternative ways to manage the stress and weight gain I was experiencing. I had never tried acupuncture before, but I was desperate for anything that could help regulate my nervous system. From my very first session, I was blown away. I felt like I was floating. When I mentioned my chronic jaw tension, Dr. Horie worked her magic, and for the first time, I experienced a release so profound it was as if years of stress melted away in an instant. But that wasn't even the most incredible part. During my final session, Dr. Horie held my hand, looked me in the eye, and asked, "Are you pregnant?" I laughed and shook my head. "No, impossible. Sorry. The fertility doctors don't have an answer, but we can't have a baby. That's why we've decided to leave and travel." She simply raised an eyebrow, saying nothing--just giving me a look that seemed to say, We'll see about that. A few weeks later, we arrived at our first destination: a tiny, remote island in Washington State, where whales breach right in front of your house and bald eagles perch above you as you sip your morning coffee. It was paradise. And it was there, on that magical little island, that we discovered we had brought along an unexpected hitchhiker from Santa Barbara--I was pregnant. Fast forward, and I'm now the mom of a healthy, happy, incredibly smart baby boy. We didn't stop traveling either--our little guy got his passport at just four months old, and we've been adventuring ever since. I can't wait to return to Santa Barbara and visit Dr. Mariko Horie again. She changed my life in ways I never imagined, and I will be forever grateful.

Doctors could only tell me what it wasn't, but never what it was. From my own research, I suspected it might be carotidynia, and the pain would often trigger migraines and become absolutely debilitating. After just seven weeks of acupuncture with Dr. Kim, I've had zero flare-ups for over a month now. None! It's absolutely astonishing. I can't believe that after three years of chronic pain, I finally have lasting relief. Dr. Kim has been such a gift. His treatments, care, and attention have made such a huge difference in my life, and I am so deeply grateful to him. I only wish my insurance covered his services, because I'd keep coming back for my back, shoulders, hips -- all the achy parts of my aging body! If you've been struggling with pain and haven't found answers, I can't recommend Dr. Kim highly enough. Acupuncture truly changed my life.

Over time, even with masks, gloves, and protective gear, my body started reacting badly to the chemicals. I developed severe skin rashes and allergic reactions on my hands, arms, neck, face, and other parts of my body. My eyes were irritated, my sleep was poor, I had low energy, and it started affecting both my health and my ability to work and support my family. My wife had previously gone to Lydia at Chinese Medicine Lady because she was getting severe headaches from the chemicals at her job as a manicurist, and Lydia helped her tremendously. Because of that experience, I decided to see if Lydia could help me too. I've now been treated about five times, and honestly the improvement has been remarkable. Lydia used a combination of Chinese herbs, tui na massage, cupping, moxibustion, and other traditional Chinese medicine treatments specifically tailored to my condition. Little by little my body started calming down. The rashes improved, my eyes became clearer, I started sleeping much better, my appetite returned, and my energy improved noticeably. What impressed me most is how much care and attention Lydia puts into understanding what is happening in the body instead of just covering up symptoms. She takes her time and truly wants to help people heal. If you work around chemicals, construction materials, paints, coatings, nail products, or other harsh environments and your body is reacting badly, I highly recommend coming here. I'm very grateful to Lydia and Chinese Medicine Lady for helping me get my health and my life back on track.
